Economy at lowest ebb under Buhari – Atiku By Tony Adibe, Enugu | Publish Date: Aug 17 2018 2:00AM facebook twitter goolge plus linkdin like (0 Likes) Economy at lowest ebb under Buhari – Atiku A former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that the nation’s economy is at its lowest ebb under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Atiku, a presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party for the 2019 general elections, also described Buhari’s administration as a government of liars.
He said while the administration had promised to create three million jobs, three million jobs were being lost yearly. Addressing the gathering at the PDP Secretariat in Enugu yesterday, Atiku said: “This government is a government of lairs. They promised three million Jobs per annum but Nigeria has been losing three million Jobs every year. This job loss has brought the worst form of insecurity in the country. “We are facing challenging times in Nigeria. Today, economy is at its lowest ebb and the greatest challenge is unemployment.” He said the 2019 general elections would be Nigeria’s most crucial poll, asking citizens to “vote and when you vote, stand to protect your votes.” He described himself as an experienced person for the nation’s presidency in 2019, saying “No other government has surpassed our strides in governance. So, if you are looking for an experienced person, I am here; if you are looking for a politician that can create jobs and unite Nigeria, I am here.” Former PDP National Chairman Okwesilieze Nwodo said Atiku was the only candidate that would implement restructuring, improve Nigeria’s economy and education standards, create jobs and send killing issues in the country. “Atiku loves Christians same as Muslims. He has the capacity to stop killings and bloodshed. He will turn us round on the path of development. He is the man who will rescue PDP and Nigeria,” Nwodo said.
Atiku Best Candidate To Defeat Buhari – Analyst by Ratello: 2:41am Atiku best candidate to defeat Buhari – Analyst
ON AUGUST 12, 2018 7:58 PMIN NEWSCOMMENTS
An International public affairs analyst, Boladale Adekoya, has said that the former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar is the best candidate to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress, APC, come 2019. Boladale said as such, the ex-vice President would be the best candidate that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would field in the election. Boladale Adekoya According to him: “For an opposition to win in Nigeria, one of the most important factors is the efficacy of the candidate the party is presenting for election. For you to defeat a sitting president, you cannot afford to joke around. So, the greatest test for the opposition is the presidential primaries. Once pragmatic politics is not considered over theoretical rhetoric, then they should kiss the election goodbye.
“In 2014 during the All Progressive Congress’ presidential primaries, Bola Tinubu insisted that the venue be moved to Lagos instead of the conventional Eagle Square in Abuja. If the primary was held in Abuja, Rabiu Kwankwaso would have won that election. By moving it to Lagos, Mr Tinubu was able to take charge of the delegates and secure most of them for Muhammadu Buhari. “He is a pragmatic politician who understands quite well that, as an opposition then, you do not play the game with the template of the Western world or refined politics as some put it. As at then, APC needed the fanatic posture of Mr Buhari in the North to solidify the sentiment and narrative already established there. Mr Tinubu understood this and even though Mr Kwankwaso was much younger and without much blemish so to speak, he was denied the ticket. What may be considered to be generally intelligent and right turns out most times to be hara-kiri in politics.” Speaking on the candidacy of Atiku, he stated that the PDP stands a better chance if he is presented in 2019 “due to his ability to speak to the conscience of all Nigerians and pose a receptive mind that the younger generation can relate to.” “I understand that lots of horse-trading is expected to take place before the primaries but if the Peoples Democratic Party were to be strategic, they would use their best candidate.
“Atiku has an established nationwide political structure that if fused with the support of the opposition Governors and leaders, the possibility of having victory is much higher than any of the other aspirants,” he said. Boladale made this assertion in an interview with PremiumTimes on Saturday.
I'm not making noise, let's just hope APC don't give Ogboru their ticket, even you self go fear how this election go be, how did you think Omoagege became very popular all of a sudden?.
In Nigeria to be popular enter Big Brother House, the rest is history.
fratermathy: You really want to drag me into this discussion abi?
Deltans deserve what they get because we don't make good choices and that's the truth. We didn't make good choices in 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and I bet we still wouldn't do in 2019. So I really don't care who wins or who doesn't.
hahahaha!
At least you talk true small.
Dont worry, we will soon confer you with Chieftaincy title.
Efewestern: I quite understand where you are driving to, but should we continue like this all in the name of equity?, should we just waste another four years because certain region wants to complete their term?, isn't that what most of you accuse the Northerners of doing?
If you are well equipped with Deltan politics, you would have known that Ogboru has been the man of the people, several times has he been robbed, there was a time He was declared winner only for the then Ibori Government to manipulate the results, when the Urhobos support Ogboru, they are not doing it because they want to dominate, they are doing it because they want a visionary leader, a leader who will listen to the cries of the people, a leader who won't be answerable to any Godfather , someone who understands the plight of the ordinary masses, he is not innocent and perfect, but he is better than what we currently have.
I doubt you know that Ogboru is Also from Anioma, Umukwata in ukwuani local government area, his mother hails from their.
U are making noise...
We did not ask you for Character reference.
That is not relevant here.
Same was said about Ibori, Uduaghan and wat happened?
Okowa has distributed project fairly and deserves to complete his tenure, then power returns to Central Delta.
Disrupting that gentle-manly agreement is not in favour of Urhobo and Delta State in the long run.
Efewestern: I'm quite surprised you referred to the Urhobos as power hungry, that aside the influence of Ibori in Delta Central is diminishing, even when he was the governor, Ogboru won him, If not for corruption I don't think Ibori has much influence on the Urhobos, save for his oghara people.
You should also consider election rigging which will be the order of the day, ever since, PDP has been rigging, but now APc has mastered the act of rigging, APC also has federal backup, should PDP win Delta, then it's with a very tiny margin.
It is very important that we consider the present power arrangement in Delta state as commendable.
The destruction of that arrrangement will have far reaching consequences for the progress, stability and peaceful coexistence of all who call themselves Deltans.
Power hungry Urhobo will not be spared of these undesirable effects. In my opinion, it is best to allow all a fair term of office. Greed is a terrible thing, it is wat put Nigeria in this deplorable state of affairs.
Efewestern: PDP will hardly get any meaningful vote in Delta Central, The reason Delta Central voted massively for PDP during the last election was because of GEJ , Secondly Most Top politicians irrespective of political party campaigned for GEJ, even Ogboru also campaigned for GEJ even thou he wasn't a Member of PDP, but the next election will be different, if APC plays their card well by giving Ogboru ticket, then The Urhobos will vote massively for them, don't also forget that the Urhobos are also in Delta South.
Itsekiri might vote for APC, you should consider ayeri factor and the fact that Uduagha is planning to decamp to APC,
IJAW population is Delta state is not much, so their vote doesn't really matter.
I don't know much about Delta North, can't say much about their voting pattern.
Like I said earlier, APC will get over 40% vote in Delta if they play their card well.
Delta will be divided north and south.
The North will vote PDP.
The Central APC/PDP
The South will be divided APC\PDP.
PDP wins, if rigging is not factored.
PDP have a very strong root in Delta.
Aside power hungry Urhobo, other groups might not be quick to dismiss PDP.
Politics is about interest.
Then again, Ibori is a very strong man that will divide Urhobo votes becos, he knows power leaves north in 4 years.
Plus, Okowa recieved him well, wen he came back from UK.
senatordave1: Your neither here no there.atiku that has several wives and buhari that has just one wife, who is a fundamentalist? There is no moderate muslim in nigeria.the only moderate muslim i know is dj khaled
Did u say Buahri has just one wife?
y una no tell me say na onye ara me and am they talk since?
Efewestern: APC "might" clear delta Central , and might also get more than 45% vote in Delta state, I don't know about other states, I'm just saying this due to my current observations, was even surprise when a Bus driver was shouting APC apC, lol.. Omo-agege influence in the state is growing very large, and if they give Ogboru ticket, then APC might be able to pull a strong stunt in the state.
Let's see how it's goes, PDP so far hasn't proven to be worthy of our votes, not with the likes Of Saraki and Atiku championing their cause.
In all, these politicians are evil and wicked, those who wants to kill for them should go ahead.
APC cannot win Delta.
The entire North will be voting PDP, the south will be 50/50 between Ijaw and Itsekiri.
Isoko will be 50/50 also.
Urhobo will be 60(APC)/40, thanks to the PDP strong man Ibori. cc Fratermathy.
Once u have tested power, you always want it, it dont matter that it will come to you in 4 years, you want it now.
So, i no go take am personal if Urhobo goes APC but APC cannot win Delta.
senatordave1: If these two men were sensible, they would not have declared their support prematurely.when other contestants come nko, what will they say? Or did they do it to milk atiku's corrupt pocket
FOR THE RECORD, I WILL SAY THIS ONCE, SO LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY.
NO POLITICIAN IN NIGERIA IS AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN. (NONE OF DEM)
SOWORE IS THE MOST CORRUPT OF ALL THE PEOPLE CONTENDING 2019.
2buffagain: It would seem that of all tribes, igbo are the most geographically tied to their village.
We are in America. Yet All the igbo girls I know who marry require that she and her boo travel back to her village all the way in naija to do trad ceremonies even when the girl and her necessary family members live abroad in the same yankee. These trips add to costs....costs that these same igbo people will want to IMPOSE on you to pay.
Are there actually igbo families out here who are pragmatic enough to not require these excessive movements? Or is this something to pretty much expect from people from that part of Nigeria?
Serious answers only please.
I PITY UR TYPE, ALWAYS TAKING PANADOL OVER ANOTHER MAN, WAY OF LIFE.
NDIIGBO ARE TRUILY A GREAT PEOPLE, SO MUCH SO, THAT A FOREIGNER LIKE YOURSELF, WENT TO A FOREIGN LAND AND WITH ALL THE FOREIGN WOMEN OUT AND ABOUT, U ARE STILL FIXATED ON MY TRIBE.
Y NOT GO FOR WOMEN OF YOUR OWN TRIBE? HAUSA, YORUBA AND GHANA FULL AMERICA.
