dokiOloye: Isn't it easier for U that is claiming d improved performance supply is due to Buhari to give me proof of what he has done in d sector? 1st of all, power supply usually peaks during rainy seasons due to d fact that d dams work optimally,or have U not noticed that in previous years? 2ndly,Some of d power plants built during d last regime are also gradually being put in use thereby boosting supply. BUHARI HAS NOT INVESTED A DIME IN D POWER SECTOR NOR EVEN MADE A POLICY STATEMENT IN D SECTOR. . Answer these questions pls. For ur number 1 point, so, there were no rainy seasons during Jonathan's administration? If there were rainy seasons, why is it that we never experienced same constancy in power supply then? Moreover, rains had already started before May 29. why wasn't there constant power supply? Number 2: So, u telling me those power plants built during the last regime were never put to use before May 29? |

I can't wait for the day the federal and state governments will restrict the movement of all these heavy duty trucks to specific times of the day(preferably 9PM to 6AM). Over 70% of fatal road accidents is caused by all these trucks. Can't also wait for when GEJ's transformation trains will be used for what it should be used for.... Carrying heavy duty loads. |

amazingspiderma: Stop diverting from facts. The report said that PMB had not kept to his word concerning the office of the First Lady as promised. And suddenly you are now telling us how every wife of a president and governor should support her husband"in a complementry role". I must commend your PR skill, but you have made no point at all.All you did was to refer to Pateint Jonathan so as to your trigger your emotional sensation and those of your of guillible followers who blindly gave you likes. You didn't look forward, you had to look back just six years ago for reference, what about 16 years ago. That my friend is sentimental. In as much as you have always accused PEJ with your mouth of abuse of power, you cannot within your conscience say that previous regime of the first lady did not abuse their offices when they serve along side their husbands.I believe you are old enough to remember them. One can have sight but can also be emotionally blind. That is exactly what you have demonstarted. The point is we still have the office of the wife of the president contrary to PMB campaign promise. The wife of the president has some roles to perform. Or are u trying to tell me all Aisha Buhari should be doing is cook for Mr. President, and come out to snap pictures when the occasion demands? We're in a modern age brother. What Buhari meant was, a situation where the office was being run like a constitutionally recognized office will be no more tolerated |

Politics › Power Game: How APC Govs Hijacked Buhari-tribune by handie(op): 6:56am On Aug 09, 2015 |
Now to produce ministers, ambassadorsTHE power game between the political structures in the All Progressives Congress (APC) appears to have tilted in favour of the state governors, following the changing disposition of President Muhammadu Buhari towards the state helmsmen. Knowledgeable insiders in the APC told Sunday Tribune that the governors appeared to have won the heart of President Buhari lately and that the president had conceded to them the right to compile the list of prospective ministers and other appointees. President Buhari had initially rebuffed attempts by the governors to make inputs into his cabinet, as he told them at a meeting at the Defence House that it was not their business to name ministers for him since he would not also suggest commissioners for them. But recent rapport between the Presidency and the governors is changing that fast, said an APC insider last week. The insider told Sunday Tribune that Buhari had been told that the success or failure of the administration depended largely on the governors in the states and that he needed to empower them as appropriate. It was gathered that some senior members of the party had subtly rubbed the message in at some meetings with the president that he could not be blindfolded to party survival and that even if he was not interested in retaining power for more than four years, he should still help the party to retain power for as long as possible. A source said that the subtle advice was responsible for a U-turn by the president on the issue of bailout to the states and his decision to travel with them on his recent trips while sidelining members of the National Assembly. “The governors are winning. They have been told they can make inputs to the cabinet and they are actually preparing list of possible ministers and ambassadorial nominees,” a source said at the weekend. The source also stated that the decision to carry the party and the governors along in his decisions was responsible for the president’s U- turn on the issue of bailout to the states, as he was told that many APC states were owing salaries and that the PDP could easily capitalise on that to blackmail the party out of power in some of the states. It was gathered that a sign of Buhari’s renewed trust in the governors was also the decision to ensure that the resolution of the crisis in the National Assembly was handled by the governors. Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, resolved the crisis in the House of Representatives, while the two-man committee handling that of the Senate is made up of Governors Adams Oshiomhole of Edo and Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State. Sources in the party said that the decision to play it cool with the governors was a carryover of the practice under the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who initially battled the governors, using federal lawmakers and ministers, but eventually realised the strategic position of governors to winning elections, which made him him to up jettison the federal lawmakers . Politics › Buhari’s Anti-corruption Fight Not Targeted At Jonathan – Osinbajo by handie(op): 6:40am On Aug 09, 2015 |
The Buhari administration’s anti-corruption effort is not targeted at anyone, but is aimed at reducing corruption in the country, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said Saturday. Mr. Osinbajo made this known at the funeral of Elizabeth Adesola Mamora, mother of former Lagos senator, Olorunmibe Mamora, held at First Baptist Church, Ijebu-Ife, Ogun State. He faulted those accusing the Buhari government of witch-hunting the former aides of former President Goodluck Jonathan. “It’s not about a probe of a past government, that’s not what this is about. We are talking about our future, we are saying that we must put in place a clear strategy going forward,” the vice president said. “Not just about ensuring that people are made to pay for looting the treasury, our system of justice must be fair to ensure that anybody who does anything that is wrong is brought to account. We can’t allow impunity to continue. So it’s not about the previous government, it’s about any form of impunity,” he said. The Buhari administration had been accused of witch hunt after declaring it will limit its corruption probe to the immediate past Jonathan administration. Criticisms intensified with the detention of aides of the former president. Mr. Osinbajo said claims of witch hunt were untrue. He said the anti-corruption effort of his government is a genuine programme aimed at sanitising the country. The vice president congratulated Mr. Mamora for organising a befitting burial for his mother whom he said brought him up with good moral teachings and in the way of God. Delivering his sermon, the leader of the Baptist Church in Ogun State, Segun Jaiyesimi, challenged political leaders to make positive change while in office, and urged them to help the needy in the society while on earth as there will be no opportunity to do so after death. The event was also attended by the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, APC leaders, Bola Tinubu, and Bisi Akande, fas well as former governors of Ogun and Rivers states, Gbenga Daniel and Rotimi Amaechi respectively, among others. Now I can comment. In every political party, there're good, bad and ugly members. A political party is a combination of different individuals with different moral values. Apart from that, I haven't seen any indictment of Mr. Rotimi chibuike Amaechi of corrupt practices by any law court or a duly established body empowered to carry out such duties. Or are u saying Amaechi should be tagged as corrupt because the people say so without no documentary evidence? It'll be most unfair of u to suggest such. Until Amaechi is found to be corrupt with facts, pls let him be. Now ya'll wailers are wailing. Didn't see u wail when ur "hero" GEJ was openly romancing with convicted criminals like Buruji Kashamu, Bode George and a host of others. Oh! He even granted Alaymasiehga a state pardon |
Politics › Re: Aisha Buhari Takes Over Patience Jonathan’s Office-PUNCH by handie(m): 6:08am On Aug 09, 2015 |
So what? Every wife of a president/governor has a way in which she assists her husband. Or u expecting her to carry out her duties from her bedroom? Every wife has a duty to complement the role of her husband. What PMB was against and which I'm convinced will never be allowed to happen during his administration is a situation where the first lady takes on the role of a de facto vice president, where money is budgeted for a office not recognized by the constitution and where an unelected person occupying a non constitutionally recognized office will publicly be chastising elected governors and other public officials. If Buhari doesn't allow his wife assist him(particularly in humanitarian activities) ya'll wailers will still say he's a Islamic fundamentalist who's still in d stone age. |

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for fast-tracking the implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) report on the clean-up of Ogoni land. In a statement issued on Friday on behalf of the state Chairman of PDP, Felix Obuah, by his media aide, Jerry Needam, the party said it “Welcomes the announcement by the Presidency of fast-tracking the clean-up of Ogoniland as part of the recommendations contained in the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) Report on the devastation pollution of Ogoniland by oil exploration activities of the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and allied multinational corporations. “The PDP commends President Buhari for not discontinuing a process started by previous administrations, which led to the commissioning of UNEP activities in Ogoni as well as setting up of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Restoration Project (HYPREP), particularly by the Jonathan’s administration, all of which were being gazetted.” Source: www.thisdaylive.com/articles/rivers-pdp-hails-buhari-on-implementation-of-unep-report-on-ogoniland/216857/ |
