na wa o, that sound like such a fickle reason to be unsure if you want to marry the person you love. ur girl needs to stop looking for excuses, im sorry. I can testify to the fact that older doesnt necessarily mean wiser.

RomanceRe: Are Women's Morals Loosened Easily By Alcohol? by hanen(f): 4:48pm On Jul 28, 2008
Ah, another ridiculous generalization takes the stage, I can't believe Seun saw it fit to put this on the front page.

Alcohol made our MALE relative fall asleep in a gutter. It's not a FEMALE thing, a drunk man/woman is apt to do stupid things. And like someone said earlier, anyone that takes advantage of a drunk person is of low morals him/herself. Sheesh.

CareerRe: Highest Paying Banks In Nigeria? by hanen(f): 7:12pm On Jul 22, 2008
@ finecat and mangetan

Bankers dont think they're the highest paying workers. Other people do. Bankers know how much they earn after all. There's just so much hype surrounding bank workers by people that earn LESS, and they hear annual salary and think all sorts. Just because they happen to have those jobs doesn't mean they're stupid.

U obviously have a lot of beef and resentment to address.

Thank you Superstar, you are the most informative person on this forum, I bet you are a banker too. No grudges but I don't think the banking sector is the most innovative.Yeah! They,ve got good dressers, smart talkers et al but I rather find them a lazy bunch who make the most of their oppurtunity. Get a banker sacked and you have pulled the rug off his feet, He goes down the drain faster than a metal key in a well. The most insecured people I can think of, all puffs,no gravity. I read someone talk about Lawyers and how they earn poorly (laughs). I do admire them greatly, they are a fountain of knowledge hence they are called "LEARNED" .Don't get me wrong,I am not a lawyer.

No beefs! But I find alot of bankers vain and lacking in substance. Sometimes meeting some on personal levels,I wonder how they ever got employed. I guess it's the turnover that really matters, not the calibre of recruit. "ZENITH" never ceases to amaze me with their half baked bankers, who will flash their knickers at the drop a hat shocked. Or the ill mannered way they conduct themselves outside office hours. I believe your proffession should mould you to some extent since 70% of your life is spent working. Polish IN, polish OUT! But I get to see alot of Crap IN,Polish out.

In summary,I just want bankers to define their worth better, not financially but in character.Money is a neccesity but what is money without character. Please don't look like pigs with a golden ring.

Lastly,I believe being self employed determines who a real man is. Take a look at Virgin's Richard Branson or our very own Dangote. It takes a real man to go out there to get made on his own. Afterall some of these banks are owned by real men,why not be one too?
Wow. Chick. Calm DOWN, undecided
CareerRe: Are Foreign Graduates That Much Better Than Nigerian Graduates by hanen(f): 10:41pm On Jul 19, 2008
They're not necessarily better. Many are good, I mean, definitely they've had access to a better rounded education, but there are also thousands of Nigerian graduates that know their salt. It's just that Nigerians attach a heavy importance, almost obsession with foreign 'anything', and expect by default the foreign trained graduate to be better. Which is a shame cos you'll see nigerian graduates with lots of experience and skill being put under newly graduated foreign graduates just because of the school they went to.

WebmastersRe: Site Gallery Design by hanen(f): 10:45am On Jul 11, 2008
I use a lightbox for my gallery, fantastic. Problem is, I don't change my images much, and i had to make thumbnail versions manually.

sorry this is a bit off topic

@webemerald,

why put one image per page? From a viewer's standpoint, it's a bit frustrating that I have to click each link to see a new image. Why don't u arrange thumbnail versions of each pic on one page, and THEN the user can use the lightbox feature to scroll through each one.

Right now, someone has to click to see the page, then click to OPEN the thumbnail, then click to CLOSE the lightbox, then CLICK AGAIN to go the next page, Of which the 'bigger' version is much bigger, thus kinda defeating the point of making me click in the first place. I don't think it's very user friendly. Just my 2 cents.

WebmastersRe: What Exactly Is A Template? by hanen(f): 11:43am On Jul 09, 2008
I think people dont want their designers to use templates because it gives the impression of a lack of creativity on the designer's part. I personally have no problem with using a template as a BASE for a design, but many designers tend to change only the body content, and maybe two or more images. That, frankly, reeks of laziness.

A web designer, cant show me a portfolio full of templates and expect me to be impressed. I'm sorry. The person didn't think up the code, design or layout, he just changed a few things on it. That's not the best.

As a potential client, I wouldn't want my site to look like mirrored image of other sites. Especially a free template. So what am I paying the designer for? I feel people should use templates for inspiration. At the very most.
WebmastersRe: Done With This Webmasters Section by hanen(f): 11:03am On Jul 07, 2008
Like Phiry said, you sometimes elicit the responses you get. And instead of taking things in good faith, you proceed to tear down the person's  work/history. Personally, i PREFER getting reviews from people who know little about web development, because believe it or not, thats the majority of people that will visit your site at any given time. You obviously can't handle criticism well. Everyone can't phrase anything nicely to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside about your failures. If you think going somewhere else will prevent you from getting criticism, be it harsh or nice, then BYE.
Abeg, carry your wahala and go.

@hanen the banker,

It seems that since Zenith bank slashed your salary you have been frustrated ( I wonder why you were not able to convince them or insult them into reversing such salary slash or do you just display your skills on insults on public forums even when you are ready to tolerate all manner of treatments at your workplace?).
NA WA OOOO.

this my bank job. E dey chook u for body? Why do you keep bringing it up?? What is the correlation between that and the topic at hand (which is that u've commited daylight robbery). Seriously, if u want to insult me, at least try and do it with sense/maturity. smiley

Der's no beef o, It's just that we've been through these cycle before. Every site he brings fro review, we say the same thing and he reacts the same way, each time. WebmastersRe: An Inexperienced Web Designer Needs Help! by hanen(f): 6:11pm On Jun 29, 2008
If you're a fresh guy in web design, with no experience whatsoever, somehow, I think asking for pricing or even clients is the least of your problems.

Instead, you need to learn the basics of web design, html, css, which tool is useful for you, dreamweaver or frontpage, or evn notepad. If you want to do proper development, it would help to learn some programming language of some sort, like PHP or ASP.net etc. Or at least some basics. Design elements like layouts and so on.

Visit sites like www.w3schools.com and cssremix. com for ideas and tutorials.

Once you're actually GOOD at webdesign, then you can start thinking of looking for clients. I won't encourage you to do it the other way round.

WebmastersRe: Small Challenge On Html And Css by hanen(f): 9:36am On Jun 28, 2008
Guys, really. There's nothing there. Really. As yawa said, whether use DW or notepad results are the same. So, why the whole 'challenge'? Is there some competition out there for the web designer thats better at giving himself stress im not aware of? If someone can code purely from notepad and chooses to do so, great. If u use dreamweaver, great. As a personal choice I use DW when its available (which it almost always is). Notepad when i dont.

We really need more productive topics in this section; like troubleshooting 'how do I, ?', instead of all these, 'i think im good, what about you' discussions/challenges. undecided
