Even if Arsenal are 10 points ahead,
I know when to get at them. So its not a worry
Not to write them off though because footie has a way of being funny
Arsenal would stutter when it matters most.
I am not worried about them at all. . . . . .Chelsea is our biggest threat.
Fergie's selection was spot on. . . . .Staring GRAFTERS in the midfield helped stifle Chelsea's midfield and Ballack/Lampard looked lost.
The only thing missing was possession football and crisp passes. cheesy

ok that gives 4 points ahead of us right?
Not to worry, we will catch up.
We just need our game to pick up.
The revival has started already.
Lets win the next 6 games and see how it goes.
Vidic & Brown will be available for the next game so we are okay in the defence. . . .

Frankly, aside from Fletcher who was doing well supporting upfront,
I am tempted to say Scholes is gradually going past it.
Ando even though he has been eratic this term should be given the chance.
With the way Roonie, Rooney and Apache play, Berba can't fit in
he needs passes like u said to flourish hence my question why he was included in the game
And mind u, he had no pre-season. I think Fergie got it somehow wrong
Everyone felt Anderson and Hargreaves would be in the midfield.
Hargreaves greatest gift is his strength in the middle of the park. . . . Anderson can tuck in and out as he pleases.
With those two, u have the strongest central midfielders in the country and they seem to gel together because Hargreaves rarely ventures forward.
Scholesy on the other hand cannot gel with Anderson. . . .I don't know why the two players don't work but i think it's because of Scholesy's tiring legs.

If u say the wings didn't suffer, then u just watched Evra
Even though he didn't loose it, Gary was ever shaky whenever he was marking.
And thanks to JS PARK for making great cover for for the left wing.
All in all, my main prayer is for Carrick to return. he isthe only player u can be ever assured of his play
And does he have an eye for passes? Find out from Arsenal. . . . . .
Ando still needs to add more precision to his passes.
I was told Wes Brown didn't pass his fitness test. . . . So Fergie is blameless on that account.
Our back four did what they were asked to do. . . .Stop Chelsea's wing attacks!!! I think they coped well with that.
The major problem we had was we couldn't keep possession. . . . . We kept giving the ball away to the opponents.
Berbatov had no service ALL DAY. . . . . .The only time Evra found him in the first half. . . .United scored!!!
Carrick is the missing key as he seems to be our best passer in the midfield with an amazing vision and awareness.

The season is 5 weeks gone and United have only played ONE LEAGUE game at Old Trafford!!! shocked shocked shocked shocked Shocking!!!
Chelsea played their 3rd HOME game today. . . . . .How are these fixtures generated by the computer?
Roman Abramovic's computer prolly mapped out the league fixtures.

Fergie saw what we debated here yesterday.
Keep Chelsea's wing backs busy and they are toothless.
I cannot remember Ashley Cole kicking a ball throughout(Park, Fletcher and Hargreaves deserve some credits for that).

Bolton @ Old Trafford??
Let United's winning streak starts from there.
We need to go on a long run to keep in touch with the early flyers. wink wink

Anybody that says Ronaldo didn't do well needs glasses and a new TV. He was top notch.  .  .one wouldn't even guess he 'D been injured.
Why are u even arguing with wankstas??
Ronaldo didn't do well?? What impact did Drogba or Lampard make throughout the 90??
They were non-existent!!!
Cristiano was outstanding in me opinion and his freekick shoulda been a penalty.
Malouda raised his hand to block his face and handled the ball but that egg-headed Mike Riley looked away.
I hope the FA have a word with him. . . . . . .He was a total disgrace.

Emperoh:
Somehow i feel our selection did us in
We should have won the game had we fielded our best eleven
There was no need for Berba to come in now and if Fergie knew Johnny Evans was going to play,
Why didn't he start Brown. Gary has lost it and should be reserved for low profile games
If Tevez was there just maybe, we should have nicked all three points. Not to say the fraw was bad
And then, we need to be more alert. The defending for that goal was unprofessional. How did Rio loose that guy
Or rather, lets just say its the luck. I wonder what the blues defence woulda been like if Terry's red card was upheld
We need to chalk up the attacking play.
One thing i noticed though was that The chavs couldn't have scored from open play
The defence held them out.
They will have it difficult against the Gaynners who play their new style better.
I hope the season picks up from here for us.
Our wingbacks coped very well. . . . . Chelsea did not create a lot from the wings.
United's midfield(Scholes in particular) was shambolic. . . . . .I cannot remember any intelligent pass he made to the strikers.
Berbatov will not play as a lone striker a la Drogba or Crouch. . . . .He needs clever passes to flourish.
If the midfield had played with a little more composure, we woulda scored at least 2-3 goals in the first half.
Our insipid performance and Michael Carrick's absence is no coincidence. . . . . .we need players that can orchestrate peach passes.

Anyway,no wahala. The storm is over for now at least.  .   .we coulda done better, but what we did isn't too bad.

United will get better.
I knew we would stutter once i saw the opening fixtures.
The cock suckers at SOHO made sure the fixtures were heavy for United so the London clubs can gain some bit of momentum.
We shall KILL all of em next year. . . . . Let em enjoy their time in the sun for now.
I am so glad the PREM TITLE cannot be WON after 4 games.

tevez shoulda comeout instead of ronaldo[/quote]Hindsight analysis, mate.
If Tevez had come in and it ended 1-1, u would still say Ronaldo shoulda come on instead of Tevez.
We coulda won the game but this game was always going to be tough. . . .
This is the home ground of the team that pushed us all the way in the Premiership and European Cup last season, falling at only the last hurdle, with a billionaire owner and a complete squad of brilliant players, with a ridiculously good home record.

Other teams had a bit of breathing space to gain momentum by playing easy fixtures in between so i cannot compare us to Arsenal/Liverpool.
Besides, if Chelsea had scored first and we equalised in the dying moments, many of us would be ecstatic now.
Conceding goals at the death will always leave a sour taste on our tongues.
Anfield away, Stamford Bridge away. . . . .Arsenal got only one point from these same fixtures in the last 2 seasons.
I am disappointed we didn't wrap the game up in the first half but 1-1 is a very GOOD RESULT.

Tevez couldn't come in because Van Der Sar got injured thus wasting a substitution.
Fergie cannot be blamed for that!

That man has lost the plot. It was like he was giving Christmas presents.  He didnt have a clue what he was doing.

I'm so pissed we didnt break that record. It was so close!!! angry
It was almost like the game we drew at the Emirates last season. . . .
We started so well and we just lost the initiative.
Gary Neville is done. . . . .I think the old guards should retire now that the ovation is still loud.
His misplaced header caused VDS' injury.

This game was too easy for Man Utd if we had done the right things.
I cannot count the number of times we had good chances and shoulda scored if Rooney/Berbatov had played intelligent passes.
The best defence in Europe have now conceded 4 goals in 4 games(NOT GOOD ENOUGH).
We shoulda won this game. . . . . .Chelsea didn't create a lot.

I'm quite impressed with Johnny Evans. Fergie must have seen something to play him in a game of this Magnitude. The occasion didnt get to him. I always knew we would need at least 2 goals to beat them.

Berba - - - - - - - -Dont even let me start. How I missed Tevez.

Ronaldo looked Sharp when he came on though. But I think we've had tough games up until today. We need to start recouping our points back from the nxt league game. I would say we've had the toughest start out of the BIG 4. At least 2 big games out of the way now.

Good things are def coming our way. Next stop 'BORO on tuesday in the CC.
Which is exactly why the jury is out on Berbatov!!!
Expecting him to come in(with no pre-season) and light up the whole stage against 2 of the best sides in Europe on away grounds is a HUGE ASK!!
Lets be patient with Berbatov. . . . . .The games he's played were tough ones and he had a hand in the 2 goals we have scored since he arrived.

United would recoup those points back next year when these teams visit Old Trafford.
Mike Riley is a bitch. . . . .United were getting cards for fun but he forgot to book Chelsea players when they fouled us.
Evans was top draw and the build up to JS Park's goal was the way United can play when things gel.
The future is bright with what i have seen but we need CARRICK.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by Hannibal: 4:43pm On Sep 21, 2008
@ Akola,

Terry without Carvalho is rubbish.
Alex came in and even gave a good account than the useless John Terry.
There wouldn't have been any significant difference if he had missed this game.

Mikel Obi played well but only in the 2nd half.
I think Scholes n Fletcher kept him quiet for long spells.
Joe Cole, Anelka, Malouda and Ballack were total TOSH.

You guys were lucky today. . . . .We didn't make those counter-attacks count. . .
When United gels, other teams would feel the wrath.
Points shared. . . . . . .not a bad result for us(not too many teams would get something @ SB).
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Hannibal: 4:38pm On Sep 21, 2008
I am so pissed with the game. . . . .
Our attack and counter-attacks just went to SLEEP.
Rooney and Berbatov should be doing better in the final third. . . . . .

JS PARK won the MAN OF THE MATCH and i think he fully deserves it.
He chased Chelsea's wing backs back and forth and hustled n harried. . . .
For his efforts, he even got a good goal(cheers Korean boy).

I think Johnny Evans was also decent and he made sure we didn't miss Vidic.
This was a game we shoulda won by a country mile.
Chelsea without the wings are rubbish. . . . . No tactical nous at all.
We may never have this chance again, United's firepower was enough to beat these fucking Chavz.

I've been very impressed with Evans so far. Comfortable and calm on the ball. Lets hope it continues like that.
Unfortunately, VDS is our weakest link. . . . .what a shame!!
He was a nervous wreck throughout and he coulda given Chelsea a penalty(although Gazza didn't do him any favours
We need to get hold of the MIDFIELD. . . . .Thatz where Chelsea's strength lies.
Go MANUTD.

What kind of injury wahala is this??

Now VDS is injured.  .  . Kitkat coming on for him.

One wasted sub. Gosh!!!
We have done enough to be 2 goals up in this half.
Rooney just refused to shoot. . . . passing the ball when he should be thinking of scoring goals.
The midfield went to sleep after we got the 1st goal. . . . .
I think Berbatov or Rooney should come out for Ronaldo. . . . . Ronaldo was throwing tantrums on the bench when Berbatov wasted a good chance!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Hannibal: 1:36pm On Sep 21, 2008
Cristalz:
Let's hope the guys on the bench are Plan B for the second half, tho i woulda preferred us starting strong instead of making desperate last-minute attempts when the game's almost up. . .won't come to that i hope grin
I think Fergie knows Chelsea's strength lies in the midfield.
To beat Chelsea, u have to wrestle the midfield and take control from there.
Fletcher and JS Park are grafters and they would help the wing backs when the team get under the cosh.
Hopefully, Ronaldo-Nani-Tevez can come on and make a difference.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Vs Manchester United: 1-1 Sunday 21 September 2:00pm by Hannibal: 1:16pm On Sep 21, 2008
Chelsea has named an unchanged side.

Bosingwa Carvalho Terry Ashley Cole

Mikel Lampard Deco

Joe Cole Anelka Malouda.

Drogba, Belletti, Kalou, Bridge and Alex on the bench!!!!!

These managers are crazy(Tevez/Ronaldo on the bench for Man Utd----Drogba/Kalou on the bench for Chelski).

Can we repeat it today?

Yes.

MOTM: John Obi Mikel ( He will take his midfield as usual against Paul grin)

Today's match would be the beginning of the end of Mikel's career @ Chelsea.
