Beginning 2000, twelve northern states adopted sharia criminal codes that are unconstitutional. By doing that, the 12 states clearly indicated that they are more interested in having religion as first agenda in a country guided by Islamic sharia criminal laws.

BH later emerged and has maintained that it is fighting for a country friendly with sharia criminal codes.

Since Nigerians in the south do not want the religious north to go, Nigerians in the south must accept to live in ONE Nigeria guided by sharia criminal laws.

Shortly after, Boko Haram emerged and stated clearly several times that it is fighting for a country friendly with sharia criminal laws.

But the rest of the mumus outside the 12 northern states cannot understand that granting the 12 norther states a sharia country must stop the Boko Haram carnage. The rest of the mumus appear as if Oyibo told them: "look you must all suffer and possibly quench in One Nigeria - no splitting."

For six or seven years, same gory scenes of killing, same reaction, nobody asks: how do we end this? Perhaps rest of the mumus believe that to keep Nigeria one, all Nigerians must gradually join the army and get all killed as well as kill all Boko Haram fighters.

For 49 of Nigeria's 54 years of independence, Yoruba and northern politicians had exchanged the batons of leadership of Nigeria; Yoruba and northern politicians controlled Nigeria's mineral resources among Yoruba and north. The two groups would not give GEJ who came in as president by chance even one chance.

Today most southerners in the north have been chased away from the north by usually endless religious violence; and Yoruba threaten easterners in Lagos with drowning in Lagos lagoon.

Last election, Yoruba sent the final message that there is nothing like south of Nigeria; that Yoruba must continue to partner with the north to exchange leadership and control of resources of Nigeria between Yoruba and north.

Therefore, is he not a clown any person from the former southeast region of Nigeria who for any reason still has the zeal for one Nigeria?

No section in Nigeria's constitution permits the practice of what Buhari preached. No section of Nigeria's constitution said anything about what type of dress pattern to be used anywhere in Nigeria.

Aso Rock must not be used to experiment on Islamic sharia dressing codes.

Buhari's main route to preside over Nigeria peacefully and fruitfully is to maneuver in the NASS and successfully restore fiscal federalism to Nigeria with immediate effect.

Soldiers removed fiscal federalism and later imposed a lopsided political structure/representation in the NASS upon Nigeria. The system/structure favours only far north of Nigeria.

Ordinarily, since return to democracy, it is no more possible in a democracy to vote and restore fiscal federalism/regional govt system to Nigeria in the NASS; because northern legislators in overwhelming majority in the NASS must vote against that.

Only an as ex-soldier like Buhari can bulldoze his way through in the NASS to get the NASS vote to restore fiscal federalism/regional govt system.

But expecting Buhari to restore fiscal federalism/regional government system to Nigeria is like expecting Buhari to throw away the gains against south of Nigeria which the north acquired since the end of the civil war.

With the way things are going it is looking like Nigeria belongs to the North especially now that they were able to seize power from Jonathan this year as they boasted earlier.

Imagine planning to install another Hausa/fulani as Senate majority leader to work with Buhari also from the core north.

In 2013, Buhari repeated his 2001 drive for Nigeria as a sharia country in an interview.

In the interview, Buhari stated that any state govt can make laws and adopt sharia criminal laws.

But imagine any state House of Assembly in Yoruba land debating whether to adopt sharia laws or not; it shall be fire in that state.

These information were there, yet self-acclaimed sophisticated Yoruba made Buhari win to become president of Nigeria.
