EUROBOMBER:Lol, Most Yorubas that call themselves sophisticated do not even understand that the 36 states political structure with a whooping 19 states in the north with only 17 in the south is what has made the south of Nigeria near colony of the north of Nigeria. Oh Yes, we are getting there; with the harbinger of sharia criminal laws in Nigeria as Nigeria's Senate leader; Nigeria a sharia Islamic country is a question of time. In 2000, the 12 northern states adopted sharia criminal laws that include stoning women to death for adultery, cutting hands of petty thieves, marriage of under-aged girls. In 2001, in Kaduna, Buhari charged Muslims to ensure that sharia criminal laws are employed in all over Nigeria. Shortly after, Boko Haram emerged and its earliest reasons which it gave and which it has repeated is that it is fighting for a country friendly with sharia criminal laws. After 6 years of fighting by BH, Buhari won election to become president; after three earlier loses. Once Buhari winning the election became imminent, Boko Haram started to fold shops. Gowon who started state creation in Nigeria lamented that state creation was eventually hijacked to create a super political class in Nigeria - unarguably, in the far north. The too many northern states also give rise to too many undue legislative Houses and federal legislators for the far north. The north's too many legislative houses and too many legislators guarantee that the NASS can afford to make only cosmetic amendments to the 1999 Constitution tailored by northern soldiers to suit north of Nigeria's political machinery. The 1999 constitution was hurriedly drawn to legalize the semi-illegal and rigged political structure. Buhari won the election, then BH started to release the girls it was holding. SHARIAREPORTERS:Truth is that with election of Buhari, Nigerian soldiers have started once again to see them selves as being the most brilliant and domineering class in Nigeria. Buhari election underlines the feeling in soldiers that they can overturn a democratic government with arms, one of them rules, make money and fame, resigns and can come back to rule democratically elected. If you had engineered a restructuring of Nigeria's political structure so that there shall be equitable representation in NASS and rest of government between the north and south of Nigeria .... suitable Nigerians may have been winning elections in future to steer Nigeria to prosperity. Jonathan, you came, saw, but refused to fight to change the bad political structure and government system established by force. You said you wanted to go home, that government house was like a cage. Land Mass or population is never used to create federating units in any federal country, as used by northern military rulers to create states in Nigeria. Did anyone tell that because his group does not present Nigeria's president is the reason for the present agitation against Nigeria from the LNF? Main issue is that Nigeria was politically structured by military dictators to favour far north and to fail. It is difficult to practice this increasingly over centralized form of unitary government in a multI-ethnic Nigeria. What suits Nigeria and can guarantee its unity and development is regional government system and fiscal federalism.
