PoliticsEXCLUSIVE: Adelabu Blames Tegbe For Defeat, Engages In Fisticuffs With Ajimobi's by happney65(op): 6:25pm On Mar 11, 2019
Bayo Adelabu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has been abusing leaders of the party, blaming them for his loss in the election.

Adelabu has been claiming that the leaders of the party collected money from him yet failed to deliver their various political constituencies.

Dayo Iyaniwura, one of Adelabu’s main allies who is also a Personal Assistant to outgoing Governor Abiola Ajimobi, was caught in one of his many fits of rage at Ajimobi’s Oluyole residence on Sunday.

Two sources who witnessed the episode confirmed to SaharaReporters that Adelabu had attacked the Governor’s PA during an argument, which resulted into an outbreak of fisticuffs between the two men.

One of the sources told SaharaReporters that Adelabu rained unprintable and abusive words on Tegbe, who later showed up at Ajimobi’s residence as well. He specifically accused Tegbe of not supporting him, claiming Tegbe’s team worked against him during the campaign and that was why he lost.

SaharaReporters understands that Adelabu did not reconcile with the candidates who were forced to step down for him at last year’s APC governorship primary, insisting that he had all it takes to win the election.

Adelabu lost Saturday’s election to Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), winning only five of the 33 local governments in the state while Makinde won all the rest.

The PDP candidate won in Ibadan North West, Ibarapa East, Atiba, Kajola, Ido, Lagelu, Iwajowa, Afijio, Orelope, Ibadan North East, Ibadan South East, Ibarapa North, Atisbo, Ibarapa Central, Ogbomoso South, Ibadan North, Egbeda, Itesiwaju, Saki West, Saki East, Oyo West, Oyo East, Oluyole, Olorunsogo, Ona Ara, Akinyele, Iseyin and Ibadan South West LGAs.

Meanwhile, Adelabu won in Orire, Ogooluwa, Surulere, Ogbomoso North, and Irepo LGAs of the state.

At the end of the race, Makinde scored a total of 515,621 votes while Adelabu polled 357,982.

Olufemi Lanlehin, candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), came third in the governorship poll with 12,375 votes, although he had stepped down a few days before the election in order to support Makinde.

Some of you just come online with so much bile in your breathe that facts become non existent when you start to pour out your hate.
Buhari has constantly called out the media to investigate his source of wealth yet no one not even sahara reporters or premiumtimesng has been to do that yet ,one loud mouth thinks his factless lies helped by some likes from gullible simpletons on Nairaland think he is making sense because he can piece together words that appeal to their dull sensibilities since the person they love to hate is being lampooned.

I personally know Buhari is not poor neither is he stinkingly rich, but what he earns is enough to take care of himself and his family as a ex army and ex military head of state.
Even his sworn enemy knows this of Buhari and have testified that he has not stolen any wealth from Nigeria .Not even OBJ or IBB.

PoliticsBREAKING: House Of Reps Member Olatoye ‘sugar’ Shot In Ibadan by happney65(op): 7:54pm On Mar 09, 2019
Temitope Olatoye ‘Sugar’, as he is popularly referred to, a serving federal lawmaker representing Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency in Oyo State, has been shot, SaharaReporters just learnt.

Olatoye was shot by suspected thugs in Elesu village in Ward 13, Lalupon, Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, on Saturday evening.

It was learnt that Olotoye was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Centre of the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.

A source in his village, who confirmed the news to SaharaReporters, said he was shot by persons suspected to be thugs.

"Mr. Olatoye Temitope, a.k.a., ‘Sugar’, has just been shot at his village in Lagelu area of Oyo State, but I can't say if he was shot dead. He was shot in the eye by some of the thugs who stormed his area and they have rushed him to UCH here in Ibadan," he said.

The lawmaker, who is a member of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), had contested in the February 23, 2019 national assembly poll for the Oyo State senatorial district seat, but lost to Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

SaharaReporters could not confirm at press time the authenticity of the report that he died after the incident.

Olugbenga Fadeyi, spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, confirmed the news but said he was yet to “get the facts of the story”.

"Well, I have not gotten the facts yet, but give me more time to confirm and I will get back to you,” he briefly told our reporter over the phone.

it was the local government that gave Ajimobi the governor and senator in the first place, because he always won it by almost 80% margin, although I understand he has lost a lot goodwill there.

He will merely try in oke ogun because of the rebellious actions of Shittu, APC had their widest winning margin in Oke ogun in the last election.

I maintain that Seyi will struggle to win ibadan Southwest local government area because that is my local government of origin and I know the local politics very well.
He has already won south-west..He even defeated Ajimobi in is polling booth..

PoliticsBuhari Runs A Govt With No Direction – Financial Times by happney65(op): 9:14pm On Mar 08, 2019
The Financial Times of London says President Muhammadu Buhari has been running a government that lacks a clear direction in the last four years.

The respected newspaper therefore called on the President to see his re-election as an opportunity to do the right thing.

The Financial Times said this in its editorial which has been read and shared thousands of times around the world.

It said there was no clear economic policy like that of Rwanda and Ethiopia.

It read in part, “With his renewed mandate, it is now Mr Buhari’s task to rebuild faith by running a dynamic and successful administration and by building the institutions that can lay firmer foundations than in his previous term.

“The omens from his first four years in office are not good. During that time, the former military leader ran a lacklustre administration with no obvious sense of direction. There was no coherent economic strategy of the sort being attempted by the likes of Ethiopia, Rwanda or west African neighbours Ghana and Senegal to produce the rapid growth needed to haul tens of millions of people out of poverty. It is an indictment of its leadership — both military and democratic — that the continent’s biggest oil producer should have more people living in absolute poverty than any other country in the world.”

FT advised the President to appoint more technocrats in his second term who can help turn things around.

The newspaper said the anti-corruption war must be more holistic and less selective.

FT added, “Mr Buhari’s priority this time must be to set out a coherent agenda, implemented by technocrats rather than ideologues, to turn things around. Nigeria desperately needs to create a level playing field for business in which access to foreign currency, permits, and other requirements is both predictable and rational.

“His much-vaunted crackdown on corruption must go beyond taking action against a few minor officials. Some big scalps would help. More important still is to implement systematic changes — whether by reforming institutions, using technology or by removing arbitrage opportunities — to create a more transparent environment. People should prosper in Nigeria based on what they know and how much value and employment they can create, not by their connections.”

PoliticsAbdulrahman Abdulrazaq's WAEC Result Is Fake - Sahara Reporters by happney65(op): 8:35pm On Mar 08, 2019
Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, forged his West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result, SaharaReporters has learnt.

Abdulrazaq claimed to have obtained his result from the WAEC in the July 1976 examination at the Government College, Kaduna, but investigations revealed he forged the result he is parading.

The WAEC result is the least educational qualification anyone interested in public service or contesting for any political position must have.

The governorship candidate had his basic and secondary school education in Kaduna. He attended Capital School, Kaduna, between 1966 and 1968; Bishop Smith Memorial School, Ilorin, between 1970 and 1971; and Government College Kaduna, where he claimed to have obtained the result.

Abdulrazaq has been using the result to contest for political positions. He also presented the result to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to qualify him to contest in the 2019 governorship election in Kwara.

A glance at the result obtained by SaharaReporters showed the WAEC result to appear genuine, but when the certificate number was inputted into the database of the examinations board, it revealed that Abdulrazaq had been using a forged certificate.

Investigations also revealed that Abdulrahman did not sit for the examination in the said year.

A staff member of the examinations council, who confirmed that the result is not genuine, said the certificate number written on the result does not exist, while also noting other irregularities on the result.

“We don’t have certificate number SC180683 in the database of WAEC. That means the result is fake. If you look at the result, you would notice that his name was written in initials. The examinations body doesn't initialize; names are written in full,” the WAEC staff member said.

Abdulrazak’s Political Journey

Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is the son of Alhaji A.G.F. Abdulrazaq (SAN), the first northern lawyer in Nigeria.

He has been involved in active politics since 1999 along with his brother Alhaji Alimi Abdulrazaq. Alimi was one of the few founding members and funders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.

He contested against Alhaji Mohammed Alabi Lawal of the then All Peoples Party (APP), sponsored by Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki but lost.

Abdulrazaq contested for the seat of the governorship of Kwara State on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change in 2011 but lost.

He also failed to win the seat of Kwara Central Senatorial district with PDP, losing to Bukola Saraki.

He defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in September 2018, on which platform he is contesting for the governorship of the state.

Litigation

A suit was filed by one Adekunle Oluwafemi Abraham at the Kwara State High Court to challenge the authenticity of the WAEC certificate of Abdulrazaq.

The application submitted in court read: “That I also know as a fact that the defendant did not sit for the West African Examination Council School Certificate Examination and was therefore not issued with the purported West African Examination Council (WAEC) School Certificate No. SC180683 dated June 1967 submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the defendant."

Deciding on the case, Justice Adenike Akinpelu ordered Abdulrazaq to defend himself on the case within 30 days.

Justice Akinpelu said: “In the court's writ dated March 7, 2019, the court ordered the defendant (Abdurahman Abdulrazaq) to within 30 days after the service of this writ on you inclusive of the day of such service, you do cause an appearance to be entered in an action at the suit of Adekunle Oluwafemi Abraham and take notice that in default of you doing so, the claimant may proceed therein and judgment may be given in your absence."

SaharaReporters attempted to reach Abdulrazaq for comments, but calls to his number were unanswered.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the Peoples Democratic Party has yet to explain the “irresponsible expenditure” that took place between 1999 and 2014.

He said the main opposition party still has questions to answer on how it spent the oil money that accrued to the country within that period.

He spoke in Abuja when he received the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress on a visit to congratulate him on his re-election.

The NLC was led by the National President, Mr. Ayuba Wabba.

“PDP has not successfully explained to the country what they did with the money,” he told the NLC leadership; adding, “There were no roads, no rail, no power. They said they spent $16bn on power, but where is the power?

“The irresponsible expenditure of that period has not been explained, and Nigerians deserve an answer on that terrible mismanagement of the country.”
