Renewable0216: This is so painful. I waited all weekend hoping someone would drop this link. I ransacked the internet, the best I got was a McGill practice set which in my opinion is a little lower in standard compared to the real GRE.
Anyways, in all things we give thanks.
Wrote the test today, Q161: V154. We didn't pass, we didn't fail
Now, I'd appreciate suggestions on schools with funding opportunities
Profile: CGPA: 5.7/7.0 (3.5*/4) IELTS 8/9 GRE: 315 2 years Industry experience Very little research experience. MSc or PhD Electrical Engineering Great work and lovely scores. I thought as much** Now, check out the EEE graduate programs of these schools. Hint: You might start mailing their grad program co-ordinators. - University of Minnesota Twin Cities - University of Nebraska-Lincoln - North Carolina State University at Raleigh - Howard University - University of Nevada, Reno - Vanderbilt University - University of Arkansas - University of Notre Dame To boost your chances, pick an EEE research interest that you're really excited about (these people will usually see through the smoke scree, if you are bluffing), and ask the program coords how to "put your best foot forward as you start applying". Don't forget to add your GRE scores, GPA and how you stood out during your UG program. Don't mention anything about money to them.If you do those well, funding will most certainly take care of itself, God willing. Good luck! |

Awesu122: Good afternoon I would be going for Masters come March 2017 , I have my admission letter and i20 with me already, here are my questions I would be going for my interview Mid December , is it. It too early to go? I have a score of 323 in my Gre and 70 percent in EPAT English profirincy and aptitude test , is it compulsory I go to embassy with print out of those scores ? Lastly as funny as it may sounds if VO ask how would this make me achieve my goal in life , how do I answer? (I am going for M.b.a) I have been to 2 countries in the past as well , what are my chances of securing the visa ? Not a do or die affairs anyway Thanks Congrats on your admission. There's a reason why schools don't wait too long before they issue the I-20. So, it isn't too early to book your appointment and get your visa next month. Take all documents you think you'll need. Those documents ain't load. Besides, it's better to be safe rather than sorry. If VO asks you how the MBA will help you achieve your goal in life, between you and me, it isn't no funny question at all. So,don't take it lightly. The VO wants to hear about you desire to put the MBA to good use back in Nigeria, your home country. It therefore means that your answer should be tied to you NOT staying back in the US, but coming back to put your acquired expertise and skills to improve the economy as an entrepreneur, working in government, multinational or startup. And don't forget the race is not to the swift. Hope this helps. |

tolumuntari: Hello everyone. I am new and must confess that you guys are awesome. Please how long does it take a university to issue an 120? Thanks First, you need to be admitted. Once your department sends your offer letter to the school's International Office, the office will check how much you'll need for tuition and living expenses, at least for the first year. Then, they will contact you to send them an Affidavit of Support, if needed. Once they verify that money won't be a problem, it takes 5-7 days at most to issue, and then 3 days to get to you, depending on the courier. |

Best Regards You're welcome! Every info you see on this thread is for the GENERAL GRE TEST. So, you're on point. If your school says nothing more, don't bother yourself, that's the one you should take. The other category of GRE test is not general, but specific to subjects like GRE Math, GRE Physics, GRE Psychology and the rest. Except your proposed department specifically ask you to write those subject tests, don't go near them. Go to ets.com/gre to register. |

Do you know that the application fee is what they use to print your i20 and other stuff? They even tell you what it's for.. It's possible, my brother. With God, all things are possible. The key thing is to submit an interesting application. Your proposed advisor might even pay for you. Or the school might totally waive it, if they see you're very promising, and you can't afford it. |

As an admission criteria, prospective candidate needs proof of funds or certificate of financial responsibility. Do I also need It before being considered for admission, GA/fellowship and I-20? Kindly elaborate more. Thanks Most schools will allow that you apply before they ask for your proof of funds. For most, it's only when you're admitted that they can calcualt how much you would need for tuition, insurance and other living expenses, and tell you how much you need to prepare for. Of course, the best way to be sure is to contact the Animal Science Grad Prog Co-ordinator. |

rhemmie91: Ok, I have received tons of emails regarding this and while I am happy to help, if I receive one more "tell me more about it" message, I might scream. And for those that ask questions insinuating I may be about to dupe them, I have no words for you, I understand. So here is the thing, I will say again, the name of the university is Louisiana state university, go online, check out the chemistry program and the requirements, the ongoing researches and see if there's something you are interested in. If you are interested, there are no shortcuts, you have to take GRE, and satisfy every requirement stated there. I know they waive TOEFL for Nigerians. The only thing I can and have offered to do is put in a good word for whoever wants to apply and I just happen to know the chances of getting in is pretty high. I can make no guarantee, neither do I have any influence on the department's decisions. Thank you all. Really? Some actually this that was a scam message? I think we all need to wise up. If you think the surest way to enter for MS or PhD in the US is to apply, and go and fold your arms, then you're on a long thing. Besides, she never asked you to send her money or anything. If you want to get in, you would still need to prepare your app liker everyone else, but unlike others if rhemmie91 happens to like your package, she can help move the ministry forward which will mean a lot, since the rec is coming from an insider. Thanks Ma'am rhemmie91 a lot jare, no mind some of we people. |

Now here is my question : Should I send a mail on Monday to follow up on my application given the fact that she notified me on the portal that she has reviewed my resume(but she didn't say anything beyond that) Won't I appear desperate? Do you think she won't disqualify me based on that? Please guys, your input would be deeply appreciated. Thanks Send her a reminder. No, you won't sound desperate. Just tell her, you need her to favorably consider your GA application in the earliest possible time, considering that as an international student, you will need to procure a visa, and book for your flight, if you'll be going for the MSc program. Congrats on your admission. |
