PoliticsMUST Read:constitutional Provision That Makes Winning Difficult For Buhari by harbdulrasaq88(op): 7:20am On Mar 31, 2015
According to the technical ground of the constitution, Buhari of APC must score up to 25% in 1/3-(about 13 states-where GEJ won him), out of the 36 states, before he (Buhari) can be declaired a winner over the incumbent president. So, even if Buhari won most of the states in Nigeria, but if he couldn't win up to 25% votes in the states that GEJ defeated him, the presidential election thus, will be declaired inconclusive, and thus, GEJ of PDP will still emerge as the winner.

In the states in South-East and South- South that GEJ won, did Buhari won up to 25% votes? Let the Notherners start educating their people nowoooo-about what the Nigerian constitution says
based on technical ground, because I know, as soon as they hear that GEJ is announced the president, they will start their senseless killings.

Know it now that on technical ground of the constitution, that Buhari is too
far from becoming the president-inspite of the fact that he is the one leading in most states.

The University of Port Harcourt has declined a Freedom of Information, FOI, request for the doctorate degree records of President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a response to the Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, a Rivers State-based civil society organization, the university said a request for President Jonathan's academic records did not fall within the provisions of the FOI law.
"The Management of the University has carefully considered your request vis-a-vis the FOI Act," the university stated in their letter dated 26th February, 2015, and signed by Eric Loveday Osuo Abonemi, the institution's Legal Officer.

"It is my instructions to inform you that your request does not come within the relevant provisions of the FOI Act for its practicability or for the University to provide such details as requested.

"Details of the Ph.D Degree of President Goodluck Jonathan in the University of Port Harcourt cannot therefore be made available to you."
The Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law had filed an FOI request, three weeks ago, to the university seeking relevant details of Mr. Jonathan's doctorate qualifications.

The letter requested the following information relating to the president's doctorate qualification, citing the provisions of Sections 2 and 4 of the FOI Act, 2011:

1. The title of the president's doctorate dissertation
2. Year of registration as a doctorate candidate
3. Name of his doctorate supervisor(s)
4. Name of his external examiner(s)
5. Comments/reports of the external examiner of the dissertation/thesis
6. Photocopy of the dissertation/thesis
7. Date of graduation from the university
The organization said it was willing to bear any cost the university might incur in making photocopies of the requested documents and for posting them.

President Jonathan was admitted into the Department of Zoology (now renamed Animal and Environmental Biology), University of Port Harcourt, in 1977, where he graduated with Second Class Honours (Upper Division).
In 1985, Mr. Jonathan obtained a Master of Science degree in Hydrobiology and Fisheries, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Zoology 10 years later.

Both degrees were also from the University of Port Harcourt.

Lately, Mr. Jonathan's academic qualifications have come under increased scrutiny ahead of the forthcoming general elections. Critics have accused the president of failing to complete his doctorate programme.
In a response to an enquiry by Punch Newspaper in January, the university dismissed such claims as having "neither legs nor grounds to stand on".

The university had also told any person or organization seeking additional information on Mr. Jonathan's qualifications to contact the school authorities.

"We have absolutely nothing to hide as an institution that has a statutory mandate to advance the frontiers of knowledge," William Wodi, the university's Deputy Registrar (Information), had told the newspaper.
It is unclear why the university declined to release Mr. Jonathan's academic qualifications to the civil society organization after giving that commitment.

Jiti Ogunye, a Lagos-based lawyer, said the president's academic records ought to be freely available in the university and not be "opaque or hidden".

"The FOI is applicable to the academic records of a public officer whose academic records are being requested by a Nigerian citizen or a nongovernmental organization duly registered in Nigeria with a view to promoting accountability and transparency in government," Mr. Ogunye said.
"The academic records of the president are not the medical records of the president in which case a medical officer can say the FOI is exempted, or the records between a lawyer and his client which are covered by the confidentiality rule."
WHAT THE FOI ACT SAYS
According to Section 14(1) of the FOI ACT, subject to subsection (2), a public institution must deny an application for information that contains personal information and information exempted under this subsection includes:
(a) files and personal information maintained with respect to clients, patients, residents, students, or other individuals receiving social, medical, educational, vocation, financial, supervisory or custodial care or services directly or indirectly from public institutions;…
(2) A public institution shall disclose any information that contains personal information if –
(a) the individual to whom it relates consents to the disclosure; or
(b) the information is publicly available
(3) Where disclosure of any information referred to in this section would be in the public interest, and if the public interest in the disclosure of such information clearly outweighs the protection of the privacy of the individual to whom such information relates, the public institution to whom request for disclosure is made shall disclose such information subject to Section 14(2) of this Act.

Mr. Ogunye said that an institution might attempt to hide under Section 14(1)(a) to decline disclosure of information.

"My argument is, this information is publicly available and ought to be disclosed. The president has said he obtained his Ph.D in that institution, so it's publicly available," Mr. Ogunye said.

"So why will an institution refuse to disclose an information that is publicly available? The university has acted wrongly and can be compelled by the suit of the non-governmental organization concerned to disclose the information."

CelebritiesI Had To Loose Weight- Waje As She Wows In New Look by harbdulrasaq88(op): 7:22am On Mar 21, 2015
It's no news that Waje has recently emerged looking slimmer than she was last year.Speaking to Saturday Beats, she said comments about her weight depressed her..

“I reduced my weight because I watched my performance on screen one time and I was shocked. When you are on screen, you add ten pounds and there was a time I was performing and it was shown live. I did not like the comments on twitter and it made me depressed for a while. I had to make a decision if I wanted to enjoy life and call myself a fat person or I could live a better lifestyle. As a female brand, I am a visual brand and when you look good, people tend to take you more seriously. You also feel smarter, so I had to start thinking in that direction.(more below)

“The weight loss was intentional and the reason was because I wanted to live a healthier lifestyle. I just want to reduce my food intake, especially junk foods. My stylist is hoping I get slimmer because it is easier to style slim people. For slim people, you can get clothes off the rack but for people like me, we have to make the clothes most of the time,” she said.

EducationPHOTO: ABU Zaria Students Manufacture “made In Nigeria” Car by harbdulrasaq88(op): 11:41am On Mar 17, 2015
The students of Mechanical Engineering Department of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, over the weekend, unveiled an energy efficient and environment friendly “Made in Nigeria car”.

The car is expected to use one gallon of fuel to cover 100km, the university authority said.
Addressing newsmen after a demonstration-drive of the car in ABU, the Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering, Dr Mohammed Dauda, said the car would participate in “Shell Eco Marathon Competition” in Netherlands during the year.

Dauda, who is also the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, said the car was part of the Federal Government’s automotive policy essentially targeted at stimulating the growth of the automotive industry.

“In addition to that, I must say, the reason why we started this came from Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited. They invited ABU to participate in what they called Shell Eco Marathon Competition. “This is an annual competition that Shell invites academic institutions both universities and colleges all over the five continents of the world whereby faculties of engineering design and develop an automotive car.

“The car should be one that consumes the lowest fuel but goes the far distance. This competition is carried out in America, Europe and Asia and we (Nigeria) are participating in the European one in Netherlands, May 2015,” he said.

Dauda said that almost all the materials used for the production were sourced locally.

He said Shell invited ABU to design and develop a car that would compete in the 2015 Rothadam Eco Marathon Competition.
“But based on the theme of the competition, “Echo Marathon” which is making it environmentally friendly or echo friendly, what we tried to do is some kind of recycling.
“Even though there are things that we did not fabricate ourselves but you will be surprised that some of the components like the electrical, we just looked at an old computer system and then adopted some of the components that would be useful to us.
“So this is one example of what we did which is recycling, otherwise, I will say 100 per cent everything is produce locally here in Zaria,”
Dauda said.
He identified limitation of machine tools and the lack of funds to adequately carry out the project as challenges to its actualisation. (NAN)

RomanceLADIES ONLY: 10 Guys You Should Never Marry by harbdulrasaq88(op): 1:40pm On Mar 12, 2015
Every little girl looks forward to her wedding day. They can’t wait to meet the Prince Charming who will sweep them off their feet. But, as you grow older, you realize that nobody’s perfect.

Your dreams of marrying Prince Charming become dashed away as quickly as the movie ended. So instead of looking for Mr. Perfect, you look for the one who is perfect for you.

As you look for Mr. Right, you try to look past some of bad traits so you can see all the good ones. This is good. It shows that you’re not shallow. But, despite how shallow it might seem, there are some guys you should just leave in the dating pool. Here are 10:

1. The commitment-phobe

Finally locked down the guy every girl’s been chasing? Well, I got news for you. Just because he finally decided to knuckle down and commit, doesn’t mean he’s committed. If he used to be a commitment-phobe, he may still be and you’ll always wonder how invested in the relationship he really is.

2. The rebel

A lot of women are attracted to the bad boy. There’s just something mysterious and romantic about him. But a lot of times the rebel in society is a rebel in marriage. And pretty soon you’ll find him rebelling against you, too.

3. The narcissist

Narcissus was an ancient Greek mythological figure who was so beautiful that he fell in love with himself — but because he couldn’t leave his own reflection in the water, he eventually drowned. A person who is a narcissist is so convinced of their own greatness that they don’t see their weaknesses. Marrying a narcissist is a very one sided relationship. They’re always trying to vaunt their own greatness — often at the expense of others.

4. The control freak

Everybody likes to have things their own way. Unfortunately, because men are socialized to express hostility and anger when they don’t get what they want, a man who is a control freak can often become intimidating and even abusive (physically or mentally).

5. The I-know-more-than-you

It’s a good thing to marry a person for his brains. But be careful because you might end up marrying a know-it-all. And you’ll always feel like you’re wrong — even if it’s just an opinion.

6. The mama’s boy

You’ve heard that how a man treats his mother is how he’ll treat you. So you look for a guy who is close to his mom and spends a lot of time with her. But be careful, if he’s too close you’ll find yourself married to his mother, too. So you better get used to hearing, “My mom doesn’t do it that way.” And you better get used to his mother being your marriage counselor, too.

7. The pretty boy

Get used to spending your weekends at the mall looking for new clothes instead of going to soccer practice. But at least you’ll have a great looking house and car (even if you can’t afford it).

8. The pushover

As mentioned before, everybody likes to have their own way. So when you find a guy who lets you do whatever you want and doesn’t complain about it, you want to grab him up. But after a while you’ll find yourself making all the decisions. And then you’ll find yourself complaining because he doesn’t pull his own weight.

9. The manly man

This guy talks about sports, beer and hunting all the time. Sure, he’s rugged but you better be prepared to change all the diapers and do all the housework. And forget about him getting you something nice for Valentine’s Day because real men don’t do that mushy stuff.

10. The fitness freak

Who doesn’t want a guy with chiseled abs and nice arms? But despite all his good (physical) traits you may soon find that the gym is taking up an exorbitant amount of time in your family’s life. And you’ll find yourself using phrases like “did you beat your PR today, honey?” But more importantly, a man who lets the gym run his life has let the servant become the master and you’ll soon find that he has other priorities out of whack, too.

Yes, there are bits and pieces of these personality traits in every Prince Charming. But just make sure they’re only bits and pieces or you’ll find yourself married to a frog instead of a Prince.

FamilyHusband Beats His Wife Almost To Death For Cheating As Peope Watch (pics) by harbdulrasaq88(op): 1:04pm On Mar 12, 2015
Just saw a gruesome video online that broke my heart. Men... and even women stood and watched as this man stripped his wife to her underwear and brutally beat her with a plank.

The people who posted the video online said he beat her to death, but that isn't shown in the video.

The last seconds of the video shows the man dragging the very weak woman away.

They said the man attacked his wife after catching her with another man. And no, it didn't happen in Nigeria.

According to eye-witnesses, mobile policemen attached to Zenith Bank branch at Elf Bus stop in Lekki Phase 1 beat this unidentified man to a pulp yesterday March 11th.

Don't know exactly what he did to warrant such brutal assault.

The man fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital by the police and other passers-by who got involved.

Hopefully, someone in higher authority will caution these officers.
