Mrs. Victoria Ambakadrimo, the 28-year-old woman that stabbed her husband, Late Barr. Henry Gagariga, to death with a kitchen knife on the throat around 11pm of Wednesday, February 4 after a quarrel in Bayelsa has finally appeared before a state high court in Yenagoa for the first time. The presiding judge, Justice A.S Rotimi, adjourned proceeding to 18th June 2015, to enable the prosecuting (the state) hand over certain forensic evidences to the defence counsels before hearing commence. However, an appeal by the prosecuting counsel to have Victoria remanded at the Okaka medium security prison in Yenagoa until final judgment is read was granted. Though frail looking Victoria pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of murder leveled against, she sobbed over and again as she was escorted to prison at the end of the court session. The alleged husband slayer before killing her husband works at the Bayelsa State Council for Arts and Culture, and is reportedly the daughter of a renowned journalist and retired director in the state Ministry of Information. Recall that Victoria stabbed her husband, Gagariga, to death during a domestic quarrel in their bedroom and was sighted by neighbours while attempting to dump his body on the road. http://www..net/2015/05/photos-woman-stabs-husband-to-death-in.html

Hiring managers receive dozens — sometimes hundreds — of CVs for any given opening. They don’t have the time or resources to review each one closely, so they spend approximately six seconds on their initial “fit/no fit” decision. You may be perfect for the job, but if your résumé has just one typo, if it’s formatted poorly, or you use the wrong font, it could easily end up in the “no” pile. Vivian Giang contributed to an earlier version of this article. 1. An objective. If you applied, it’s already obvious you want the job. The exception: If you’re in a unique situation, such as changing industries completely, it may be useful to include a brief summary. 2. Irrelevant work experiences. Yes, you might have been the “king of making milkshakes” at the restaurant you worked for in high school. But, unless you are planning on redeeming that title, it is time to get rid of all that clutter. 3. Personal stuff. Don’t include your marital status, religious preference, or social security number. This might have been the standard in the past, but all of this information is now illegal for your employer to ask you, so there’s no need to include it. 4. Your hobbies. Nobody cares. If it’s not relevant to the job you’re applying for, it’s a waste of space and a waste of the company’s time. 5. Your age. If you don’t want to be discriminated from a position because of your age, it’s time to remove your graduation date, says Catherine Jewell, author of “New Résumé, New Career.” Another surprising way your resume could give away your age: double spaces after a period. 6. References. If your employers want to speak to your references, they’ll ask you. Also, it’s better if you have a chance to tell your references ahead of time that a future employer might be calling. If you write, “references upon request” at the bottom of your résumé, you’re merely wasting a valuable line, career coach Eli Amdur says. 7. Personal pronouns. Your résumé shouldn’t include the words “I,” “me,” “she,” or “my,” says Tina Nicolai, executive career coach and founder of Resume Writers’ Ink. “Don’t write your résumé in the third or first person. It’s understood that everything on your resume is about you and your experiences.” 8. A less-than-professional email account. If you still use an old email address, like BeerLover123@gmail.com or CuteChick4life@yahoo.com, it’s time to pick a new one. It only takes a minute or two, and it’s free. 9. Any unnecessary, obvious words, like, “Phone.” Amdur says there is no reason to put the word “phone” in front of the actual number. “It’s pretty silly. They know it’s your phone number.” The same rule applies to email. 10. Your current business contact info. Amdur writes at Northjersey.com: This is not only dangerous, it’s stupid. Do you really want employers calling you at work? How are you going to handle that? Oh, and by the way, your current employer can monitor your emails and phone calls. So if you’re not in the mood to get fired, or potentially charged with theft of services (really), then leave the business info off. 11. Social-media URLs that are not related to the targeted position. Links to your opinionated blogs, Pinterest page, or Instagram account have no business taking up prime résumé real estate. “Candidates who tend to think their personal social media sites are valuable are putting themselves at risk of landing in the ‘no’ pile,” Nicolai says. “But you should list relevant URLs, such as your LinkedIn page or any others that are professional and directly relate to the position you are trying to acquire,” she says. 12. Salary information. “Some people include past hourly rates for jobs they held in college,” Nicolai says. This information is completely unnecessary and may send the wrong message. Amy Hoover, president of Talent Zoo, says you also shouldn’t address your desired salary in a résumé. “This document is intended to showcase your professional experience and skills. Salary comes later in the interview process.” 13. Outdated fonts. “Don’t use Times New Roman and serif fonts, as they’re outdated and old-fashioned,” Hoover says. “Use a standard, sans-serif font like Arial.” Also, be aware of the font size, she says. Your goal should be to make it look nice and sleek — but also easy to read. 14. Annoying buzzwords. CareerBuilder asked 2,201 US hiring managers: “What résumé terms are the biggest turnoffs?” They cited words and phrases such as, “best of breed,” “go-getter,” “think outside the box,” “synergy,” and “people pleaser.” Terms employers do like to see on résumés include: “achieved,” “managed,” “resolved,” and “launched” — but only if they’re used in moderation. 15. Reasons you left a company or position. Candidates often think, “If I explain why I left the position on my résumé, maybe my chances will improve.” “Wrong,” Nicolai says. “Listing why you left is irrelevant on your résumé. It’s not the time or place to bring up transitions from one company to the next.” Use your interview to address this. 16. Your GPA. Once you’re out of school, your grades aren’t so relevant. If you’re a new college graduate and your GPA was a 3.8 or higher — it’s OK to leave it. But, if you’re more than three years out of school, or if your GPA was lower than a 3.8, ditch it. 17. A photo of yourself. This may become the norm at some point in the future, but it’s just weird (and tacky and distracting) for now. http://www.edificationinfo.com/2015/05/17-things-you-should-never-put-on-your.html |
Sequel to his comment on corruption in Nigeria, where he advised Nigerians to despise the menace, 2Face Idibia has been slammed by a man who claimed he was his childhood friend. The man identified as Eric Amodu was reacting to 2face’s instagram post few days back where he condemned the Nigerian government for not impacting positively on Nigerians in its 16 years in power. Reports has it that the legendary singer had called on Nigerians to eradicate corruption, especially in high places in order to attain the desired change. But reacting in an open letter, Eric said 2baba as he is fondly called lacked the moral standing to condemn the outgoing government or the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, arguing that he was a beneficiary of the same PDP he accused, as well as Corruption. He advised the pop singer not to throw stones while living in a glass house, dismissing that he bears any grudge for the African Queen crooner, as he was only expressing his views. The artist was reminded in the letter of his alleged ingratitude to people who had made him who he has become. He reminded 2face of letting Producer- OJB down when he (OJB) needed his help during a kidney transplant. He said 2Face forgot so soon how the beat-maker transformed his career. He also alleged that no particular Idoma youth had benefited from 2Face Idibia, the reason he should not condemn other failed people or groups. Read Eric’s letter below: ‘‘Too bad you threw the bomb at yourself on this. You are my friend but the truth must be told. Question 1. Name a single soul you’ ve ever helped? Question 2. Why did your fellow childhood friends deserted you? Question 3. What have you given back to the society that made u? Infact lets go deeper First of all, OJB produced you and brought you to limelight and even gave you a song for free without you paying a dime. But you threw your back at him when the world was rallying round to save his life. Not even a dime from you when lesser musicians gave their widows mite. No any Idoma sons could say he’s on your scholarship list yet you have the mouth to talk back at the people that you helped in eating from their states’ funds. You ate the resources meant for Benue State during Akume days in PDP as a governor when he bought you a Camry. How about Donald Duke when he was the PDP governor of cross Rivers State? He lavished the state resources for you and still paid 20 million naira just to reunite the plantation boiz yet you have the guts to say PDP did nothing? Better still, you for reject all the money,” he wrote. http://www..net/2015/05/2faces-friend-tags-him-hypocrite-over.html

When the announcement was made that Late Senator Zanna had lost his battle to Liver cancer, it was so painful, but when I read about him, I was shocked to see the man, at just age 60 had two wives and 22 children! How shocking in this modern day and age that one of the prominent citizens of the country will engage in such birth-madness (no insult meant to the late honourable), but honestly 22 children from two wives is just too much. Health wise, the wives must be so aged and weak and the children too much for even him to recognize by face or wont often mix or miss their names. I stand to be corrected though but this is not right at all and he cant have enough resources to cater for these two football team he has as children from one father. Maybe the federal government has a package for senators and their children,no matter the number, I don't know but the issue should be looked into.... May his soul rest in peace! http://www..net/2015/05/late-senator-zanna-had-2-wives-and-22.html

It's the lunacy of the English language. A retired teacher of English once wrote: 'English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplants, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for granted. But if we explore it's paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing; grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth beeth? One goose, two geese. So one moose, two meese?.Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? . If teachers taught, why don't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane .You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an alarm goes off by going on. English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all. http://www.edificationinfo.com/2015/05/the-lunacy-of-english-language.html |

It is a common knowledge that passing the UTME does not guarantee you an admission into a tertiary institution. The post UTME screening exercise was introduced in 2005 to checkmate candidates that are fond of cheating in the UTME. Adequate preparation for the exercise is the only guarantee for success. With this knowledge i am here to help you with your preparation. The examination is usually computer-based and questions are mostly derived from the past UTME and post UTME questions. You must get these past question manuals and study them effectively. You must study intensively for at-least a week preceding the screening date i.e 6hrs a day, this will go a long way to helping you get ready. Tips to help you Succeed In Your Post-UTME Screening You should take good note of these following points; 1) You must arrive your school of choice a day or two days before the exercise; a) This will help you to overcome the tension that accompany examinations of this magnitude. b) It will help you to acclimatize with the environment . c) You will be able to identify your venue thus limiting early morning jitters. 2) You must find computer based examination trials on the internet and practice well so as to get used to the processes if this is your first time. 3) You should start with subjects that you are really good at as this will give you the confidence to take on the rest. 4) You should have a group discussion with other candidates on their preparation (this is only possible if you arrive days earlier). 5) This is the one i consider the most important; you must read all instructions before you begin to answer the questions. If you can effectively note and carry out all this advice, post UTME will seem so easy. Do not hesitate to get back to me if you have any questions and i will like to hear about your post UTME experience. I wish you all the best and look forward to your matriculation in your choice schools and courses of study. http://www.edificationinfo.com/2015/05/how-to-prepare-and-succeed-in-your-post.html |
Only about 70 male actors to 10,000 women; $20 bn porn industry under threat TOKYO For a man carrying a nation's libido on his shoulders, Japanese "porn king Shimiken" looks as fresh as a daisy. The 35-year-old cult hero, described by one director as the Cristiano Ronaldo of sex and famed for his Herculean powers between the sheets, grins as he tells AFP, "It's a hard job, but somebody's got to do it." Shimiken — real name Ken Shimizu — has slept with more than 8,000 women for his 7,500 movies, and recently caused a stir by begging for reinforcements, tweeting that there were more Bengali tigers alive than male porn actors in Japan. "There are about 70 male actors to 10,000 women," he said. Shimiken's call to arms was retweeted thousands of times by fans worried about Japan's $20 billion adult video industry coming under threat. "It is boring for viewers to watch the same actors all the time. That's the biggest worry," he added. Shimiken insisted he has the staying power to keep on going, despite making an eye-popping two to three films in an average day. "Usually I sleep with two or three girls a day, so I have sex for about two hours every day," he chirped. "It's my dream job — I've been doing this for 17 years and I never get bored of it. It beats working in an office. I'll do this until I'm 100." He may have to, if the decline in male actors continues. Many industry insiders blame the conundrum on a growing social trend known as herbivore men: Those who shun sex and traditional masculine values in favour of a quiet, uncompetitive lifestyle. "Mentally, men have become weaker," said actress Yuko Shiraki. "They're less macho, less proactive about sex." Celebrated director Tohjiro agrees Japanese men are going soft. "I've been in this business for 27 years and you can see the increase in herbivore males," he said. "Men aren't hungry anymore. They've lost their desire. Everything's on a plate for them. It wasn't like that for my generation. If we got a banana or a pineapple, we went crazy with joy. These days, men don't get excited by anything. The same applies to sex and attitude towards women and relationships. They just click on the internet for it." http://www..net/2015/05/end-time-japanese-p0rn-industry-hit-by.html

The family is a great beautiful thing. without it there can't be any society. parents, children, uncles, aunts and lots more makes it awesome but there are certain mistakes which are made that gradually and sometimes eats up the foundation of a family. every home has its flaws but noticing and handling it is a task that needs to be done in order to avoid the its negative effects on the home. we'll in this article analyze some common Nigerian family mistakes. 1. Imposing Destiny On Children: This is usually a common thing in most homes in Nigeria because most parents think and feel it's a good idea to tell a child what to become. but the truth is, children come with different potentials which fits in only into their purposed destiny from birth. So many young men and women live in regrets today because they were misled by parents or guardians to study a particular thing in school which did not match with or give room for their potentials. it is usually easy to impose the parental desire on a child but at the later end becomes catastrophic to the child when grown because most times, its usually almost too late for them to make a turn back to what they could do better. 2. Denying Children Self-will When They're of Matured Age: Controlling and disciplining a child is a very crucial and helpful thing to the child but of what use will it be when you don't give the child a chance to make some decisions especially when they're getting more matured? for example when they're through with secondary school, some decisions are for them to make not the parent. at this stage they're almost if not 18 years old. It is not that you should let them loose but give them some little freedom to decide certain things for themselves. with this you'll come to know how well you've trained them. denying them self-will as a parent will only make them take wrong decisions at a later end because you never gave them a chance to learn the ways of making decisions well. 3. Ranking of Affection Towards Children: Sometimes i have heard some parents publicly say "this is my favourite son". such a statement is very dangerous because it brings with it lots chaos that most parents can never control. there will be different interpretations to it by the children. ranking of affection towards the children should never be made known or even prioritized cause its of no importance. Learn to love them all equally to the best you can because they're all a product of you. never rank your affections towards them . such feelings may come but it's necessary to control it for it will do no good but harm to the family. 4. Parents Picking a Quarrel in Front of their Children: Most Nigerian parents are fond of exchanging words in a harsh and insulting manner while their children watch them. some even pick a fight and the children will have no choice than to become the peacemakers as they try to separate the fight. that's a fatal error because it is actually a damage to all the good upbringing you've given to the children. should they by any means pick up such attitude from the parents, all other good things they've learned from home will become adulterated. 5. Parents Gossiping About Each Other to their Children: Some parents mostly women because they're more closer to the children than the men gossip about everything between them and their husbands to the children. some men do that too this days. all these will give rise to nothing but resentments, hate and fights because the children will begin to hate one parent and love the other and such is not good for a family at all. Some parental issues shouldn't be discussed with children. even if it is necessary, its shouldn't be in a gossiping manner so that the children will understand what's going on. it will even help them to mature in reasoning. http://www..net/2015/04/5-nigerian-family-mistakes.html |

Popular OAP, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, born to a Ghanaian mother and Nigerian father from Abia state, was reportedly kidnapped a few days ago and allegedly raped by her abductors. According to media reports, her colleagues said the last time they heard from her was Easter Friday but when they didn't see her throughout last week, they declared her missing yesterday Monday April 13th. Last night, her abductors reportedly posted nude photos of Adaeze to her Whatsapp and Facebook page using her phone. People who claimed to have seen the photos claim three men, who didn't show their faces, pinned Adaeze down and opened her legs, and said they'd taken turns on her. The alleged photos (I have now seen a photo - sad) supposedly went viral on Ghanian social media space. A colleague of the victim contacted Facebook who immediately shut down her Facebook page. Adaeze was reportedly released late yesterday/early this morning by her abductors and is currently on admission in a hospital in Ghana. The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned that persons caught in the illegal act of using dollars for transactions risked a six-month jail term upon conviction. In a new statement issued by the Director, Corporate Communications, CBN, Mr. Ibrahim Muazu, “The attention of the bank has been drawn to the increasing use of foreign currencies in the domestic economy as a medium of payment for goods and services by individuals and corporates. “It has also been observed that some institutions price their goods and services in foreign currencies and demand payment in foreign currencies rather than the domestic currency (the naira), which is the legal tender in Nigeria. “For the avoidance of doubt, the attention of the general public is hereby drawn to the provision of the CBN Act of 2007, which states inter-alia that ‘the currency notes issued by the bank shall be legal tender in Nigeria…for the payment of any amount.’”“Furthermore, the Act stipulates that any person(s) who contravenes this provision is guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a prescribed fine or six months imprisonment. “This prohibition, however, is without prejudice to foreigners, visitors and tourists who are encouraged to continue to use their cards for payments or exchange their foreign currencies for the local currency at any of the authorised dealers’ outposts. “The general public is hereby advised to report any contravention of the provision of this Act to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the CBN for appropriate action.” http://www..net/2015/04/6-months-jail-term-for-people-who-use.html |
