aswani: Tinubu is happy with the status quo, he believes Atiku came second and Obi third, both with 2 million votes each less than him, as per the INEC declarations. Let those that believe otherwise show their ecidence. Yeah it's always about, go to court. Now that parties are in court, people should stop all these suggestions that it is time wasting bla bla bla. Let the courts decide. The law is what the Supreme Court says that the law is. |

STRI1: I am a Yoruba man living in Akure, Ondo state. I was going to somewhere around GRA, Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo state. I stopped this bike and we started discussion based on negotiation on price, this discussion led to taking about northern Nigeria. I learnt he's even a Christian, I was surprised that was possible. We started discussing how we have lot of christians on nassarawa, plateau, kaduna, Kano etc. This led to discussion about how Igbos constitute majority of those christians. And yet they cannot even HIDE THEIR HATE FOR HAUSAs AND MUSLIMS. According to him, he said "people who dey do that, dey no go school". I.e they are illiterates. I can only wonder the extent christians show their hate to Hausa. They'll hype southern kaduna and close their eyes to killings of Hausa in jos, I almost lost a boss(Yoruba man) because he looks like Hausa,. He'll have been killed by people in jos. Same to bandits and kidnapping in North. As if it's only southern kaduna that's facing insecurity in North. Change your ways, igbo. You can't be loved anywhere with this hatred mentality. During bubari, it was Fulani herdmen. Now, it's Tinubu. Only God knows what you'll call the Yorubas. It's well oo Tales by a bike rider |

FreeStuffsNG: JUST-IN: Ignore Fake News, Kyari Is Still Substantive GCEO Of NNPC—Presidency OIL & GAS
By Ifeanyi Onuba On Jun 10, 2023
Contrary to speculations making the round that President Bola Tinubu has directed the suspension of Mallam Mele Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd, there is no such directive from the President.
Presidency sources confided in THE WHISTLER on Saturday night that the President has not given such directive for the suspension of Kyari as NNPC Boss.
Social media platforms were abuzz on Saturday evening with several posts claiming the President had directed the immediate suspension of Kyari as NNPC GCEO.
The social media posts of the purported suspension of Kyari gained traction as it was coming barely 24 hours after the Presidency announced the suspension of Godwin Emefiele from office as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Multiple sources in the Presidency told THE WHISTLER that there is no such plan to suspend Kyari as the GCEO of the NNPC.
One of the sources said, “We got to know about the purported suspension through social media posts. But I can confirm to you that there is no such directive coming from the President. Nigerians are known to play a lot with trends and someone may just have sat down somewhere to make such posts.
“There is no iota of truth in that post claiming that the President has suspended the NNPC GCEO. There is nothing to be worried about because the Petroleum Industry Act is clear on how the NNPC GCEO or any member of the NNPC Board could be removed.”
When contacted, an Aide to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation told THE WHISTLER that they have not received any of such directive from the President.
“Please disregard those reports because they are fake news. We don’t have such directive from the President to suspend Kyari,” the Aide said.
The source said the Presidency will not dignify rumour mongers with an official response.

samuelson06: It's very worrisome if you ask me too. This is a matter that's very clear before the law. Seriously, it doesn't call for argument. It doesn't call for witnesses. The constitution is our witness in this case.
The major problem with our lawyers is that we don't stand for the law took an oath to uphold. It's about money now and not about the law. However, my greatest fear is when we use our own hands to rubbish the law profession, because, for what I know, the constitution is the primary object of the law profession and when you choose to rubbish it, it renders the profession useless.
People respect the law because of the lawyers that interpret the law and not because of the law itself. The law itself is nothing without lawyers to interpret it. And when you try to interpret obvious matters wrongly, what faith is in the profession again? What's the point of running to the law again? So, for me, I see this whole matter beyond the people in the picture but what becomes of the profession in the nearest future because with the way we are going, people may just see it useless to hire a lawyer or run to the law. By then, even the course in university will become useless because no one will want to study a course that has been reduced to nothing. Aptly put. I couldn't have said it better. |

lagonovo: Chapter VIII Part I Section 299 LOL. State the law as captured in that section. I won't do your research for you. That is not how lawyers behave. Nevertheless let me help you The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation; and accordingly - (a) all the legislative powers, the executive powers and the judicial powers vested in the House of Assembly, the Governor of a State and in the courts of a State shall, respectively, vest in the National Assembly, the President of the Federation and in the courts which by virtue of the foregoing provisions are courts established for the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja; (b) all the powers referred to in paragraph (a) of this section shall be exercised in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution; and (c) the provisions of this Constitution pertaining to the matters aforesaid shall be read with such modifications and adaptations as may be reasonably necessary to bring them into conformity with the provisions of this section.
Section 299 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Scriptum non est - What is not written does not exist.Read the entire subsection and satisfy yourself with the fact that the section is clear about the aspects where FCT can be viewed with the lens of a state. It is deliberate that the law clarified those limitations. See also the highlighted portion on Sub-Section C. Oga I can't argue with you please |

Politics › Re: Presidency: Lack Of 25% In FCT Disqualifies Atiku, Tinubu - PDP Witness by hardbody: 3:27pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
samuelson06: The duty of the lawyers is to defend the constitution and the constitution isn't about anybody but Nigeria. It's very clear what the constitution says in regards to the matter at hand. Do you rather prefer the constitution be trampled because of one man?
Remember, both of us were not there when that clause was included in the constitution. So, it's immaterial to start comparing Abuja with other states but what the law says. I hope you understand. For once i celebrate the Prof that taught me Interpretation of Statutes during the course on Constitutional and Administrative Law. How even legal colleagues struggle with this literal interpretation supported by the mischief rule is very worrisome, except they are deliberately being mischievous |

olusogo: The question you should be asking is why 25% in FCT more important than Enugu, Osun or Taraba State?
It is long settled that FCT is not different from other States of the Federation. Nigeria has 37 States and FCT meaning to be treated like 38 States. There is no question. Where you people come up with Nigeria suddenly having 37 states instead of the 36 we have in the constitution beffudles me. Answer FCT is a territory, Enugu, Osun and Taraba are states as you righlty mentioned, please call FCT a state too |

You can't just manufacture any IF statement that suits your fancy unless you are prepared to show any section of our constitution that mentioned 'Governor of FCT'. Oga with your profound knowledge of how the law works, what is the literal interpretation of the section of the law relevant to Abuja as a FCT. |

N3TRAL: Nemo Judex in Causa Sua
The NLC Chairman endorsed a letter that adopted Peter Obi as the choice of the NLC in February 2023 during the Naira scarcity crisis that affected Nigerian workers. He therefore supported the infliction of pain on Nigerian workers because Obi supported the policy and thought it was going to make Obi win.
On the 1st of May 2023, during Workers' day event, the NLC Chairman stood with Obi on the podium and announced that Obi will reclaim his "delusional" mandate.
There's conflict of interest because the NLC Chairman overtly supports Peter Obi. He is using his position to threaten Nigeria's stability because Peter Obi lost woefully.
Margaret Thatcher did it as the Prime Minister of UK so Tinubu can do it. The Iron Lady dismantled and subdued stronger Trade/ Labour Unions of Britain that has and still has better Labour Laws and judicial independence than Nigeria.
If Tinubu doesn't play politics that destroys the NLC and makes the union irrelevant, I'll score him low. It is no biggie. Even when men get to be impotent or ED, it must be a Peter Obi effect. I love how it is always Obi that must be mentioned This is what happens when you are an Enigma. A living Legend |
