Politics › Re: Supreme Court Dismisses PDP’s Suit Challenging ‘Double Nomination’ Of Shettima by hardbody: 12:50pm On May 26, 2023
Natural2Heal:
If Tinubu is going to lost at election tribunal, the double nomination's case is the real solid ground. The other petitions are frivolous and irrelevant.

Since Supreme court has made judgement in favour of Tinubu, he will remain Nigerian president in the next 4 years.
I wouldn't say so. If i was suing, I would not hinge my application on this ground. I am waiting for the legal interpretation of the status of Abuja vis-a-vis the just concluded election. I won't even pin my hope on all that perjury and drug case angles, but you see legal interpretation of Abuja, we die there.

Even as an undergraduate of law I wouldn't have missed the literal rule of that clause which used a conjunctive,AND

Beyond that, I would not also miss the angle of the golden rule (including the historical antecedents, etc)

We are waiting in front for the overall benefit of Nigeria's legal jurisprudence to evolve.

angelEmade:
...the sugar in a plate of semo, amala, akpu, pounded yam, etc. Will amount to about a box of cube sugars. The irony here is that the glucose and other monosaccharides in these drinks are a form of carbohydrates just like the disaccharides in complex sugars like sucrose (normal sugar)
.
Although all carbohydrates are reduced to glucose and consequently glycogen which are stored in the liver in complex metabolism reactions in the body, you cannot exactly compare these simple sugars to normal sugars.
.
And ironically, the malt we so much prefer to soda drinks contain Maltose which are complex sugars. A molecule of maltose can comparatively yield two molecules of monosaccharides in these soda drinks.
.
My point is that starch and carbohydrates like corn syrups and the foods I mentioned up there are much worse than these drinks. And although their intake should be controlled...it would be a futile endeavour if you keep supplementing them with excess starchy foods.
.
Malt is not a saviour either.

There is a long-standing common law principle, that the courts will not assist a party whose case is based upon an immoral or illegal act. In Latin it is written as exturpi causa non oritur actio.

I don't understand why the Nigerian state is insisting in supporting illegality

Why are you running every where crying ? Grow up and live and let others leave. Are you sure you are alright up there?
You suddenly realized I am not your contemporary trouser sagging beltless colleague that just gush gibberish because there is availability of cheap Chinese phone and near free internet. I am available and ready to engage with you and school you on the need to use your time meaningfully and stop writing thrash about others just for the fun of it. If you have refused to take the training at home, we will give it to you in the public space.

You have no moral justification whatsoever to write an insulting note about the Chef trying to engrave Nigeria's name in the Guinness book of record and as if that demeaning write up was not bad enough, you started calling her names, I mean other than insanity, what else could be responsible for that. Scum.

The bottom line is that this thing that the OP is talking about has a tendency to cloud judgement, it can adversely affect/influence decision making.

It is capable of bending/deflecting sound reasoning required to make sound judgement.
It is not impossible. However, that is also why I have restricted my service provision to only organizations with structures in place (not one man businesses) and also institutions where promotions are not dependent on one man but a Committee that review inputs from businesses and functions to determine the suitability of staff getting promoted.

All to themselves.

You won't believe the OP (Original Poster) until u personally witness this things.
I know there is a minimum level no one is expected to not fall below in a corporate environment. However, claiming that junior staff challenge and even beat up their bosses, all because they are in amorous relationships with the ogas at the top smacks of something else. I dated a colleague in my office sometime (former) she was no where close to being in my reporting line and i was at the second layer of senior management (just below executive), she did not get special treatment, my organization was structured. So my point really is that a structured organization must have a minimum level that none is allowed to fall below in terms of dressing and ethics. I am not saying I may not be wrong but the difference in organizations will be few and far in-between.

For the past years, our workspace has been witnessing high rate of career growth of our female counterparts, especially young girls. We guys feel so dejected and demoralized whenever promotion list is published.

It is a norm that ladies who don’t do anything at the office, those who don’t work get promoted while guys work like donkeys. This has made us lose many of our talents to our competitors.

You see female IT students squaring up to fight a Manager, threatening a Manager. We had a case where a Manager was summoned and warned to desist from correcting a particular female industrial attaché. He was told point blank that he would lose his job. When its time for promotion, ladies (both married and single) wear skimpy skirt to the office, expose cleavages e.t.c.

Late last year, we had management shakeup, the new management is dominated by women. Our MD is a woman. This has changed things significantly. They published promotion list last month, men dominated it. I got promoted too.

Things have now changed. Suddenly ladies are courteous and respectful. Office spaces is now always full to the brim. Our female folks are now working seriously. They are now nice. They are learning some processes they care not to learn before. They don’t use to work, now, they are learning the Hardaway.

In those past years, I lost respect for women in offices especially those career miniskirt ladies working in offices. I used to wonder who they fcked to get to where they are.
So where is the office romance in your story? Work hard ooo, the way I am seeing you so....

hotlegit9janews:
The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa has called on Nduka Obaigbena, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of the THISDAY Media Group and Arise TV to call his staff to order.

Dabiri-Erewa made the call via her official Twitter handle on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, after the station anchor, Ayo Mairo-Ese accused her of calling Nigerian youths as cultists and drug dealers on her show.

While analysing the controversial comments of a UK-based Nigerian Youtuber, Emdee Tiamiyu about Nigerian students in the United Kingdom, Mairo-Ese accused both President Muhammadu Buhari and Dabiri-Erewa of demarketing Nigeria.

She said, “I don’t know why Nigerians like to demarket Nigeria on the international scene. Take it back to 2016, our president, the Chief ambassador of Nigeria referred to Nigerian youths as largely lazy and that the United Kingdom should not grant young people asylum because some of the Nigerian youths are criminals.

“The Chairman of NiDCOM, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri had referred to Nigerian youths as cultists and drug dealers, some of them. So, what Emdee Tiamiyu is saying is what some of the leaders have said.”

Reacting to the allegation, Dabiri who worked as a broadcast journalist for years before veering into politics, said that the Arise TV anchor was ruining the broadcast profession.

https://twitter.com/abikedabiri/status/1661361008424697861?t=ZUsc7HA-6tPS2mM3Hm1Mfg&s=19

In another tweet, Dabiri-Erewa said she hardly watches the Arise TV morning show and doesn’t know the ladies who anchor the show.
Is this not the same Dabiri who was trying desperately to avoid some questions recently on a radio program, frantically shaking her head to tell the anchor not to take questions from Hundeyin? Is that the dizzying height she ascended in her journalistic sojourn?
