First I am glad I coincidentally met someone I believe to be a matured christian and I am sure we would learn a lot from this thread.
The big question is, " Is Jesus who christians think he is?" Can we rely on the bible as message from a one and only God?

No it is not, but if anyone claims to be spiritual and is not discerning, such person is nothing but a puppet.

.. Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit. 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. . Though I did not read your story all through, but the little I read, I will give it to you, you are a good Orator, and Thank God you were used mightily By God as you claim.
This is where a lot of Young Christians get it wrong, You use all your Christian days to pursue Power and anointing, still you don't understand the Love of God. That is why in that last days, many will come before his throne claiming to have raise up the dead in Jesus name, but still he will tell them, I don't know you. You need to know God really not his power and authority. This is the basis of strong Christian faith.
Moreover,if you don't belief in God, why did you believe in shame(the fear of your old converts knowing who you really are now...you beleif that there disappointment in you will be so real when it hits you). You should believe that one day Death will catch up to you, then you will know what you shall become.

Very true. I recall how many were seeking power. How many came to me saying they wanted power, they want to do exploits for God. Towards the end of my christian life, I dropped all that, stopped ministering to people. Changed church and started attending Life Oasis. Made Pastor Charlse my pastor, submitted my self to learn and just be a christian. 2 years from then I only ended up more convinced of christianity being a creation for political manipulation and it has grown into many facets today. Christianity has its benefits, but it still remains a fabrication of man

God bless you. Did you manage to read the whole story? I couldn't because of the several comments in between and it's not like he even helped either. Sad story, he mentioned encountering eerie manifestations afterwards and he still believes there are witches and the demonic but now claims there is no God deceiving new atheists that got tired of churchianity and giving more credence to the atheism fad. True, in many such churches, there is no god there, certainly not the same One of the bible. So those that are wise should take heed and seek God through His word. I only feel sorry for these other atheists that think it's 'rational' human behaviour to always look out for christian posts to attack God, christians and christianity.

...An evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah...(Matt 12:29)

lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices (2 Cor 2:11)

Keep doing the good work.

Thus says the Lord: Do not let the wise boast in their wisdom, do not let the mighty boast in their might, do not let the wealthy boast in their wealth; but let those who boast boast in this, that they understand and know me, that I am the Lord; I act with steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord (Jer 9:23-24)

I sensed that his story couldn't be all lies. I believed he was honest for most parts, particularly when he said christians are heartless because if they knew and believed in hell they would go out on evangelism and I know only someone that has seen that reality to can say such. He also said God is wicked because many people would eventually die unsaved, the majority even, despite his efforts and honest desire to try to reach people for God. Another emotional part was that of the blind man who although he believed 'Jesu I believe...' still didn't receive his healing.

However, one thing I recurrently spotted from his account was pervasive pride. He was still proud of his 'achievements' despite his fall away. So many 'I' performed miracles, I was 'so good' at convincing people (he didn't know that it is God that calls His own), 'I' had the gift of 'word of knowledge' I did this, I did that, 'by now I would have been a superstar'. What did Satan do again, before he got cast out of heaven? Couldn't be much different. My major concern about the whole thing is how many of his kind are still in ministry currently that are in their minds atheists but only continue because they make a living from the career.

His story had a positive effect on my christian walk because it caused me to look inwards, to re-examine and reflect on my motive for serving God is it for glorification of self, to grant my every need - sort of like a genie, not a Lord who owns me - why do I desire certain things from the Lord? Also his narration about fake miracles - particularly about the woman with cancer who although she identified being healed in church left for surgery but they lied by not telling the church members about her true condition - made me look deeper into pentecostalism and wasn't surprised to find that it thrives so much on emotionalism, easy-believism, extra-biblical revelations and activities that almost renders the bible obsolete and also opens the pandora's box of all sorts of occult and strange fire. How someone can confidently teach another a supposed gift of the Spirit is amazing, why then is it a gift?

However, I found that there are people who actually worship and adore God for who He is not because of what He can or would do for them, in fact these lot do not even ask for virtually anything yet they just give thanks. I certainly want to become like them. There is a stark difference in the character and lives of such christians that are many times in contrast with the always bubbly counterparts who usually delight in the gifts and not the Giver. They had a peace and joy not because of anything they have but because they know the Lord.

I also found that the best books on faith are usually written by martyrs and missionaries and certainly not from freemason wolves like Oral Roberts, Billy Graham, Kenneth Copeland, Rick Joyner, Jesse Duplantis, Mike Murdock, Joel Osteen and the bunch of them who appear in the 'word-of-faith new age money gospel' movement. A foundation built on deception and lies would certainly falter when the storms hit.

'They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us' (1 John 2:9)

'Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God[c] in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God' (2 Thes 2:3-4)
You are a very discerning man I must confess. Am I angry? Yes. Am I proud and boast in the exploits I performed? Absolutely yes. In fact I use it to ridicule christians that try to preach to me.
BUT I implore you. Do more research on your faith. I have and I am more convinced the church and jesus and christianity were all fabricated for the political motive of the Roman empire. Do more research on the Roman catholic church. Their history.
I hope one day to have the patience to expose my findings.

Actually, you are the confused one here. i have always maintained my stand on faith. Faith is PERSONAL, it is not a pastor's instruction. Faith has to be personal and ALIVE. It is unto you, according to YOUR faith, not according to another's. There is nothing scriptural about a pastor telling you to throw away your inhaler. i follow the Bible, not people's experience. If you follow the Bible, there is no gamble there. Your statement is ironic and contradictory, IF God has healed her she would not have an attack, would she? For instance, i once had hyperopia. i prayed to God in faith and it was taken away. i have my glasses till today. It's somewhere at home, all i need to do is search for it. i did not throw it away, neither have i EVER used it BTW. EVER, and i can guarantee that i see better than you. But God healed me, i prayed in faith and it left. Faith is not in the keeping or the throwing away, God sees the heart and motives.
You are still saying rubbish. You say faith is personal. So the woman acting on Elijah's instruction, who cooked her last meal for the prophet was acting on what? What of the woman with the little jar of oil. What of those who followed the instructions of Jesus to get their miracles?
A lady acted in faith and just because she did not get her miracle, you now say faith is not a function of acting out an instruction from your spiritual leader. You just prooved to me to be nothing but an hypocrite.

His son took over, declaring his fathers death can't weaken his faith. Long story short, d cobra did to him like it did his dad n d poor dude joined his father in hades. ( u can Google d story).

Religion has a way of trying to adapt, the bible writers clearly taught that the earth was flat, they believed that the sun revolves around the earth and when ideas came along that threatened these beliefs, they resisted and fought back until they found out they cannot win, it was proven beyond doubt that the earth is not flat and it does indeed revolves around the sun, and what did they do?, they adapted, they claimed the bible was right all along and it was only meant metaphorically.

So, when we do find intelligent aliens probably thousands of years ahead of us, i want know in what ways can it also adapt in accepting the fact that we really are not the goal of the universe and the universe wasnt created just for us and we are not that special in the grand scheme of things.

How more confused can you folks be?
Someone believed god 100% and threw her inhaler away, knowing God had healed her. She gets an asthma attack some days later. And one christian said it is cos she lacked faith (what??!!) Then you another christian said she should not have thrown her inhaler away. So you can still blame her when she keeps using the inhaler saying she does not have faith that is why she is clinging to the inhaler.

Noone can deny the vastness of the galaxy and universe as a whole. There are about One trillion planets in our galaxy alone and even if a small fraction has life, it would be in the millions, so it is safe to say it is inevitable to have intelligent life on some of these worlds.

With SETI(search for extraterrestrial intelligence) gaining more funds and better technology to scan the skies for intelligent signals.

I want to ask you guys, in the event we do discover an intelligent signal from an alien world!

- would these beings also be creatures of God?
- would they look like us hence like God?
- would they also need a saviour?
- would we see them in heaven after we die?
- would the sin that applies to us, also apply to them?
- would they be created from dust like we were?
- would jesus also go to that planet and die for their sins?

I am just curious...
You don't understand conventional religion. Very logical question, but as far as our conventional religions are concerned, humans on earth are all that matters, because religion does not know the existance of other planets, all we see in the sky are stars. That is religion

Good question!

Ill say No.

From the christian point of view, we can find in Genesis how man must treat animals. In Genesis 1 God established the relationship between man and animal. In later verses, God gives to man authority over all that was created on earth. Man is to take care of and use the earth. Man is to have the authority over all that was created. This means that man is to assume the control and protection of all that God had created. Animals are to be used by men for our needs.

Animals were not used as food up till Genesis chapter 9. However, God now included certain animals in the diet of mankind and repeats His command in verse two to watch over these animals.

Man is the caretaker of the earth according to the Bible and as such should protect as much as possible animals from sickness, diseases and extinction, use the animals for his needs, keep them from harming humans and protect them from abuse.
Ok. Glad you said from christian poin of view. Else you would have had to explain why rights keeps evolving. Eg on slavery and women rights, even children rights, rights of foreigners etc except you want to say God keeps changing his mind on what rights to uphold.
Rights are totally man made. No animal, plant or natural phenomenon exhibits rights. Even the rights humans exhibit is out of empathy and self preservation. I know if I give you some rights, then I can also demand some rights. I hate homosexuality, but I think they have a right to that life if they want to they should just respect my own choices too. It's all based on what we stand to gain in the end

The human species does not care for their offspring because of the rights the child has. We do it because it is obligation to the growth of our society, the society created rights for children so the society can be stronger and safer. As a nigerian you are not alive for yourself alone, you are alive for your nation, so you must take care of the child else the society will purnish you. You also do it because of love for your offspring, we love recreating our genes, you care for the child out of affection, not because it has a right.
