grin. I see where you're leading to, but do go on; I'm gonna let you land

However, I have to adress your misconception here. You see, time has no solid definiton. Infact, it so befuddles classical physicists that they can not yet put an accurate defintion on the word time.

Your definiton of time here can be used interchangeably for rate; a way to put a definite mark on the season and the sun's rising and falling. The "rate" at which the earth rotates round its axis is called a "day" and revolves round the sun is called a "year". No doubt, if we lived in a solar system where we had 3 suns; our definiton of "time" and "day" will vary greatly.

Now, you have the misconception that "God" ( a personoid, deity, energy, the universe itself?) created "time". Well, I really, really, think you need to read up more on time and it's wonderful perplexities.

But no bother, do continue, the show is kickstarting.
Time is only exists because of the reletive position of matter from each other.

Take away matter and time cannot exist.
Take away energy and time does not exist.

I will keep this simple.

Imagine if only 2 tennis balls exists. These 2 balls are at a certain distance from each other.
If this balls remain absolutely static and there is nothing else in the whole existence except this 2 balls. With what shall we make reference to time?
But immediate these balls begin to move, direction does not matter, then time exists, because now we can measure how soon the balls will collide if they are moving towards each other or what distance they will cover in certain units of time.
For the balls to move, there must be energy. For energy to have effect, there must be matter, only then does time exist.

To understand creation we have to first unravel the origin of matter. This is why the Big Bang theory is very interesting. It makes sense that the big bang actually happened, but is it the origin of all matter and energy? Then comes the Big Crunch theory which also makes perfect sense. We will end up with an infinite loop of Crunches and Bangs which makes it impossible to know the actual origin of Matter.

Hard mirror- the roller! Relax, man. I said we're just getting started.
You made a lot of hasty conclusions, but I appreciate the fact that u took time to do a little research and I see the Time analogy leading us somewhere. There is a gapping hole there and the question is "what is responsible for the order and disorder in the multi-verses?
The second question which you can't do away with will be, "how did you know the force responsible for this order".

(I am sure you know quoting bible or any religious book does not count and I am sure you know why) let's make this intellectual and not bring our sentiments into it.

Let's roll

The Most Perfect Clock

You probably have a watch. Without it, you would be lost in a world that demands that people “be on time.”

Some watches are more accurate than others. How accurate is yours? How long before it loses a second? When this happens, you adjust it by reckoning from a more accurate source. That source, whatever it is, is also imperfect and has to be regularly updated, though not as often, to be in accord with the Master Clock of the United States at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.

For many years, until 1967, Naval Observatory astronomers “observed” the motion of the earth, in relation to the heavens, to accurately measure time. All clocks in this country were set in relation to these very precise measurements. It was God who made this Master Clock of the Universe! He set the heavens in motion and mankind learned how to use its wonderful accuracy. As marvelous as this Great Clock is, the story does not end here.

In 1967, scientists built an “Atomic Clock.” It uses Cesium 133 atoms because they oscillate (vibrate) at the rate of 9,192,631,770 times per second. This produces accuracy within ONE SECOND EVERY 30 MILLION YEARS! Wouldn’t you love a watch that accurate? Cesium 133 atoms never vary a single vibration. They are steady—constant—reliable—and cannot be an accident of nature that just “happens” to always turn out exactly the same. God had to design the complexity and reliability of these atoms. No honest mind can believe otherwise. Men merely learned how to capture what God designed, for use in time measurement. Again, the story continues.

Doubters, consider this! Scientists in Boulder, Colorado, at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, have built an optical clock that is even more accurate. How? By measuring time with light. Time is now measured in what are called femtoseconds—or a million-billionth of a second. These clocks use mercury ions at their “heart” to count the number of times they vibrate in a second.
Optical frequencies regularly oscillate at one million-billion (1,000,000,000,000,000—one quadrillion) times per second. By using lasers and “cooled down” mercury ions, scientists have harnessed God’s precision to better measure time. Optical clocks only slip by ONE SECOND EVERY 30 BILLION YEARS! This is 1,000 times more accurate than atomic clocks!

All human watchmakers use extraordinary precision in their work. Quartz watches measure time by counting the exact number of oscillations of a quartz crystal through use of a digital counter. Digital clocks use the oscillations of quartz crystals or power lines (60 cycles per second in the United States), but may also count through use of digital counters. Grandfather clocks use the swing of a pendulum, once every second and recorded by metal gears inside the clock, to keep time.

As with the movement of the heavens, men have learned to capture the reliability of Cesium 133 atoms and the movement of cooled mercury ions to count time. Their number of oscillations per second never varies. Could this perfect order be the product of an accident?
In summary, only with great time and effort, the finest watchmakers in the world can, at best, devise several kinds of relatively imprecise clocks. Can any honest, fair-minded person then believe that the three highly precise clocks—the heavens, atomic and optical clocks—came about by accident? In other words, are we to believe that while very sophisticated, humanly devised watches required the effort and ingenuity of skilled, intelligent men to create them, clocks of far greater sophistication, precision and design developed on their own? How utterly ridiculous!

You have seen ABSOLUTE PROOF that only the “Greatest Watchmaker” could have devised these “greatest watches.”

Go nowhere! It is only getting started............. I'll be back with more shortly.

Beautiful write-up and a good read.

The only problem I have is how you hastily concluded God is Responsible for this precision.

I have always said, I believe in God as a Nomenclature for whatever originated matter, energy and time. So yeah, You have a right to claim God is responsible for these. Now the question is What is this God?

The simple questions are;
1. Is the op saying we should embrace ignorance? So it is better to be simple minded and not read and expand our knowledge so I can be like the villagers that were pointing to the sky?
So those who would point to the Sun in Egypt as God must be right then since they did not need any education to embrace their erroneous belief that the sun is God.

2. Have this people not heard of God before? So how do you expect them to be atheists when all they have heard is the side of those who believe in God?

Make urselves happy jare, I don't take you as a serious philosopher anyway. So if you feel you are right, just please yourself. For me I am looking for more thought provoking questions not this childish conclusions.

Hah! wonderful! On what is the belief based? Proof or non proof. Non-believer needs proof. But the believer? Did he need proof? What is the foundation of belief?
What is consciousness?
I am less concerned about God being conscious or not. I am particular about nomenclature . We are free to call whatever we wish God if it fits into our definition of God. But will God tick all the boxes of our expectation? ABSOLUTELY NO. We want a all powerful GOD that can consciously influence events in favour of it's believers, that would be ridiculous. We want a GOD that is the source of all energy and matter, then that is ABSOLUTELY possible. We are sure there is a source of all energy and matter, call that GOD and u can get away with it, but expect it to do the will of men or be concerned about humanity, then you start having problems.

My johnny, i still can't thank you enough for the wonderful work you are doing here to free our youth from religious indoctrination. The time and effort you take in de-indoctrination of our youth is enormous. We need our youths to use their time, energy and innovation to chart our future instead of wasting their time only on religious activities. You remind me of the legendary Tai Solarin, he was responsible for my own de-indoctrination in the early 80's.

Let me add my on opinion on this so called "insert in the body juju". Even though we do not have the full details of the diagnosis of the doctor, so we can know the type of insect and where they infected the body, insects infecting the human body is no big deal. My best friend once had a big insect and (larva of some sort of fly), removed from his skin, it was huge. I think fly larva infecting the skin is fairly common in Nigeria. As for fully grown insects like cockroaches and terminates, i do not know, but i do know that the human body is capable of labouring a large number of parasites.

If a qualified medical doctor (a scientist) actually saw strange insects in a patients body and just shouted "juju", then that doctor should have his license revoked. Even if he was not curious enough to actually obtain samples of the insects for further examination, he should have at least reported the strange case to the Federal ministry of health and the world health organization to stop further infestations. If the world (human body) is being invaded by alien insects or strange disease, that is how a Nigerian doctor will throw his hands up and shout juju.
Lol
Reminds me of what happened in Ondo town last year. When people were going blind and dying within hours. I had a girlfriend who was a nurse in Ondo state, she kept saying it was spiritual. Sir, to say I was disappointed in her is an understatement. Eventually I was proven right when it was discovered that the cause was Methanol in the Local Gin (ogogoro) they consumed.
We brokeup only because she could not marry an atheist.
Also reminds me of the Ebola salt bath incidence. Even doctors were bathing with salt in Nigeria, that was the day I knew this country was in trouble

I will keep this simple.

Many believe in God and Vodoo (black magic, charms, spiritualism), but as the popular saying goes, "Action speaks louder than Voice"

I see no reason why we should put so much effort in talking about God when demonstration of God is all we need.

Here are some cases to consider.

1. Where do you rush accident victims? Church or Hospital?
Even pastors would say it is foolish to take accident victims to church instead of hospital. Why? Are they indirectly saying it is foolish to trust God?

2. Where is God in times of epidemics/pandemics?
Has God ever stopped any disease outbreak?
Polio has been eradicated from any countries through vaccines and research. How many diseases has God ended?
Within the last 15 years we have suffered, SARS, BIRD FLU, SWINE FLU, EBOLA, LASSA FEVER, ZIKA outbreaks. While science was giving tangible proven solutions, what was God doing?

3. Who are the richest people in the world, are they those who did Blood money? Are they those who worship God? Even if you say some of them believe in God, what about Millions who go to Shiloh and Holy Ghost Congress every year and shout amen to Mighty prayers of great wealth? How rich are they today?

4. Where was our Juju when the whites were colonizing us? Where was God?

5. If something works, would there be need to get something else?
If Juju and God works, why do we keep improving on Technology and Science why not Improve on Juju and Faith in God?
Does it make sense to spend Billions of dollars on Milatary research when Juju is ridiculously cheap?
Why build space crafts when Witchcraft can take you to space within seconds?

6. Why conduct experiments to solve medical and life problems when all we have to do is just go on our Knees and ask God? Or Ask Ifa?
While developed countries are "wasting" Billions on research, why are we not simply asking our oracles for direct answer? Or asking God. Don't you thing we would have made Trillions of dollars from secrets Ifa or God reveals to us?

You can preach God all you want, you can praise Juju all you want. What I know is they don't matter where it matters.

Thank you

I am Hard Mirror, Look into the mirror, what you see is the truth, can't break me because you don't like what you see.

My dad is d kind of person dat as soon as his head touches d pillow he has started sleeping and snoring. He wasn't sick in anyway. This is the problem with supernatural claims, no substantial sample data to work with, they depend mostly on highly exaggerated narration. Your dad's case may just be a coincidence or people should be very careful what they eat in your village.
Don't be surprised that it happens to even those who meet all the traditional rites, yet endup with similar infirmity.
So for now all we are doing are making assumptions in favour of the myth.

Ok let me give u an experience dat happened very close to me. In my village in Enugu state, it is a tradition by d deity dat a man must not attend a burial if he himself has not buried his own father with a cow. Burying one's father by killing a cow is seen as a sign of respect in my village. If a man is to attend a burial for any reason having not buried his own father with a cow, then he must not eat or drink any thing served in d burial, if he does, he will be struck by d gods of d land. I have heard of incidents of some men been struck to death and others stricken with stroke for breaking dat custom. One of my uncle in d village even narrated to us how he was carried in a wheelbarrow running helter skelter for solution when it happened to him. He attended a burial having not buried his father with a cow and he was struck with stroke. I have always brushed all these stuffs as superstition until it happpened to my dad.

----My dad lost one of his relatives, and he was somehow manipulated by his other relatives to come to d village just for condolence visit. My dad did not bury his father with a cow cos of his christain believes. He eventually went to d village just for condolence visit and not to attend d burial. Though he attended d burial, but didn't eat or drink anything served there. After d burial, every body went home, nothing happened to my dad. Later in d night before going to bed in his relatives' house, he was served food and drink. He ate and drank not knowing the drink was frm d burial ceremony. And dat was dat. The next day, when he returned frm d village, he we stricken with stroke. So how do u explain dis @ hardmirror? My dad was a vibrant and healthy retired soldier who served in d nigerian army for 35 yrs and didnt even have HBP prior to dat incident. He only had d stroke after coming back frm d village. If spiritual stuffs does not exist, how does one explain dis??
Very good one here.
We can only arrive at a conclusion after we investigate this further.

1. Does it happen to EVERYONE that breaks this rule? And ALWAYS?
2. If your answer is YES then how do you arrive at this answer?

3. Let us examine 3 cases of people it happened to. How similar are their cases? Were they truly healthy before the breakdown? If yes, how do you know? Are they all dead now or still having the stroke?
