Talk of devil. Djokovic pushing Fed to the deuce in the first set
I have said this is the first baptism of fire for fed in this tournament
SportsRe: Tennis: Australian Open 2011 by harmeenut: 9:50am On Jan 27, 2011
As per Li &  Kim's final, I think Kim have an edge with her experience, she seems to know how to study opponent weakness and convert that to her advantage; and this manifests more after her comeback from retirement. It got a stage I thought she actually used the retirement to study the playing styles of all her colleagues cheesy cheesy grin and decided to come back having be convinced she can still do it better than them after all she wasn't the only one that came back - Justin, Martina Hingis (my favourite).

Not holding any excuse, will Nadal have lost that match. One factor working against hiom is his style of play. He is so aggressive, hits the ball hard and exert much of strength unlike Fed who plays with more of simplicity. Whichever, i'm happy the coast is getting clearer for my dearest Baba Twins to win the tournament but not without fighting off the threat of Djokovic as I see him as the only one among the semifinalist that can stop Fedex
SportsRe: Tennis: Australian Open 2011 by harmeenut: 2:47pm On Jan 25, 2011
Berdych only showed a real stuff during the 2nd set and once Djokovic was able to rally back & take the set, his confidence for the 3rd was low and it made it easy for Djokovic like he had in the 1st set.
Baba twins V Djokovic will be an interesting semi final and Fed needs to watch out for him. If he's not going to win this, let him loose against Djokovic as I dont like him loosing against Nadal so as not to witness another sobbing as well as increasing Nadal bragging rights
SportsRe: Tennis: Australian Open 2011 by harmeenut: 10:19am On Jan 25, 2011
Novak Djokovic is proving too much for Tomas Berdych now. He  takes the 1st set 6-1
SportsRe: Tennis: Australian Open 2011 by harmeenut: 9:49am On Jan 25, 2011
I see Federer next match against either Novak Djokovic or Tomas Berdych as the toughest game so far and he will be hard to stop if he plays like this for the rest of the event.

i was an arsenal fan, presently a chelsea fan. i have never been a man u fan and no plans to be soon but if any satistics puts wenger above fergie, that one must be a made in china satistics.
ancelloti has finished just a season in england and already has 2 cups and a community shield to show for that. mourinho was in england for 3 seasons and have a lot to show for it. fergie is so used to trophies that he celebrates not so much.
how come a man that lacks anything trophy in the last 6 yrs is a coach of the decade. it is possible this is not based on achievements.
the arguement that wenger develops youth football, i ask, how many of his players came from the ranks of the club?
mr.wenger, don't be decieved. u have nothing to show for your greatness.
the quality of a coach is in the trophies and not how much he made for a club.
Yes you can see an example of those i refer to earlier. I'm so sure if Chelsea goes into relegation & Bolton wins the treble, you'll become a wanderer grin grin grin grin. I like your style and you dont owe anybody any reason/explanation of which club support at any particular time but it will be better if you refer to yourself as a FAN and not a supporter 'cos true fans stay with their clubs no matter where they are. Do you know a club called Darlington in the Blue Square league, the stadium is always full with supporters, Try to watch Portsmouth, Middlesborough, even though they are relegated & are not even doing well, the supporters fill the stadium, make noise when their teams are playing. They dont desire it & they like trophies as well as playing in the top league, but the love they have cannot be substituted because they are not at where they wish to be.

For all Arsenal supporters, you shouldn’t be worry about most of the analysis posted here. The criteria used by the voters had been explained and if anybody does not agree with that, no problem, you are bound to agree or disagree with anything in life. The advent of fanatic support for foreign football leagues started with the advent of DTSV & cable TVs into Nigeria and I’m sure 70% of EPL supporters in Nigeria became ardent supporters of EPL within the last 10 years. Tell me did u hear of ‘Up Blue’ before the coming of Abramovich or Mourinho to Chelsea? Did you normally hear of Up Barca prior to the era of Ronaldinho-Messi? How many supporters of Man City did you hear of prior to the takeover by the Thailand guy before Sheikh Millionaires step in? It was only when these clubs started winning trophies that fans club started springing up here & there and their own philosophy of good club is by how many trophies you’ve won. I can tell you that if Chelsea/Barca/Man U/or even Arsenal gets relegated; they will be searching for the next available winning clubs to join. To them it’s either you are winning title or nothing. With their shouts about how many titles somebody have won, their orientation is that clubs West Ham, Birmingham, Reading, Blackpool, Almeria, Borrusia Monchanglanbach and other lesser clubs in the world leagues should not exist or should not be recognized

These are the sort of games that will cost us the title this year: Wigan, Sunderland, Westbrom, Newcastle. I think AW shouldnt have made 8 changes. Points lost at the DW stadium is precious considering we are playing Birmingham next where we might need to be at extra best to even claim a point. Anyway 1 point is still better than no point

Sincerely,  really dnt have beef with any of the surviving team that has made it to the round of 16. The only team amongst them that  felt could be better we did settle scores with is Inter, but mou has left them, he's the 1  got probs with.

Any other team like Man-u, chelsea and arsenal have been probably dealt with. The rest are vegetarians cos there aint no BEEF. So any team that is paired with FC apaniyan aka BARCALITY is accepted.
Eyo, me thinks if MOU is d one you got problem wit, the HELLclasico shud av soothed your nerves as him sef don talk am say Barca na finished script. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

The last 16 pairings that would result in the quarter final will be made today. Though it is true that if you want to be Champion, you should be ready to play and defeat the best, at the same time, if wishes are horses, one would prefer meeting a particular team at a particular stage. So looking at the standings in the group stage, guess or select your prefer opponent

Last-16 Permutations For The English Four
Tottenham can play: Lyon, Valencia, Copenhagen, Roma, Marseille or Milan.

Manchester United can play: Inter, Lyon, Copenhagen, Roma, Marseille or Milan.

Chelsea can play: Inter, Lyon, Valencia, Copenhagen, Roma or Milan.

Arsenal can play: Schalke, Barcelona, Bayern or Real Madrid.

As a gooner, Schalke or Bayern will be preferred but if Barca or Madrid comes our way, we gotta play wink

SportsRe: NFF Names Samson Siasia As Eagles Coach by harmeenut: 9:10am On Nov 05, 2010
The next problem Siasia may face is the impatience of some Nigerians that don't know how long it takes to build a team. I wish him success.
Spot on. Nigerians are quick in making reference to Westerhof and his success while managing the national team forgetting it took him about 5 years to give a team that has always been a reference point. I hope we wont start calling for his head if he starts on a wrong footing

This is disheartening and it abounds among gullible people irrespective of tribe. But come to think of it, the guy didn’t mention her sister again after things turned sour. What’s her contribution/reaction to this because if she decides to align with her husband either willingly or under duress, it’ll be more disastrous for the guy.

Suspension of the Nigeria Football Federation

The FIFA Emergency Committee decided today, 4 October 2010, to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect on account of government interference.

This decision follows the latest events linked to the NFF, such as the court actions against elected members of the NFF Executive Committee preventing them from exercising their functions and duties, the stepping down of the acting NFF General Secretary on the instructions of the National Sports Commission, the decision of the Minister of Sports to have the Nigerian League start without relegation from the previous season, and the fact that the NFF Executive Committee cannot work properly due to this interference.

The suspension will be maintained until the court actions have ceased and the duly elected NFF Executive Committee is able to work without any interference.

During the period of suspension, the NFF will not be able to be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, and also not in friendly matches. In addition, neither the NFF nor any of its members or officials can benefit from any development programme, course, or training from FIFA or CAF while the federation remains suspended.

SportsRe: Jonathan Bans Nigeria From International Football For Two Years by harmeenut: 8:43am On Jul 01, 2010
The problems with Nigeria football just all sectors in the nation is multifacets.
People keep shouting what we are going to loose especially the other national teams in the 2 years. and I would like to ask what have we achieved in the last ten in sports apart from using over-aged players to achieve success. We all know the other national teams would suffer when fifa bans us, but at the same time, can you imagine millions of talented nigerians who have been deprived of hitting limelight because of favouritism, nepotism tribalism and corruption in the football house. Coaches are hired based on what they can get as feedbacks. We are starting from somewhere. One thing I have realized about Nigerians is that we hate the negative effects of change ad we must realize there cant be social change without social disorganization. We must not look at the immediate effects of our withdrawal or fifa's ban but the latent and manifest future benefits of this actions. Good, Fifa will ban and we wont compete in the next nation's cup; and so what? since we crashed out of SA2010, has the events not continuing, we have been banned before, did we die? Is football the only sporting event in the country even if it the unifying one.

My fear at the same time is whether those advising the president are sincere and not just about putting their own there. What is the government going to do to develop other sport at the local, state, regional and national level. When will the government stop appointing water engineer as sport minister? I just hope we wont be back at the same spot if the wrong people are put in the house.
