kripen: Pls what I don't really understand is that after paying custom duty must they(nipost) still collect money from you. Do they collect money base on the amount one bought an item or the size/weight of the item.
Pls ur candid response and suggestion.
Thanks Now it is not everything that you buy that you'll have issues with customs. I've bought so many things and the highest the post office have charged me is N700 and it was because the item was heavy. On few occasions, N500, while majority of the time, N200. There was one time I paid N100...it was an earpiece. In some places like Oau campus, it's usually N500 flat (last I checked). I don't know about customs here. Some people that bought phones have talked about customs slamming them to pay 4k, 9k, 2,5, etc., while others have been lucky and paid just N500. ***Now to your question...let's say there's custom charge, and it's 2k for instance, that's what you'll be paying because na for that same post office you go pay am. You won't pay something different. In my location, one of the post office staff said they charge based on weight. I've not bought something of 50k, so I can't say. |

kripen: I mean some people here in nairaland. My issue is that when anything happens you are on your own. Them not having an office in Nigeria is a draw back to many people people who would have petronise them. Nothing bad usually happens. That's why you need to check ratings, read the comments of other people, and also read the comments of Nigerians (there's usually a comment section for fellow Nigerians that have bought the item. It's also important to message the seller privately (there's a section for that), and ask him very important questions. I've bought many things there. Infact I have something I bought since 27th of November that's yet to arrive. I no dey fear because if the item doesn't come, my money will be refunded. |

Godvilla: 15 to 60 days but it's very risky and not advisable to use free shipping method. A Lil 1k won't tear ur pocket to use registered air mail or Aliexpress standard shipping. I prefer the former though. It all depends on the item you know... There're items of 10k and above that can come with free shipping. It'll be somehow telling a buyer to opt for the option where they have to pay a shipping fee. Sometimes the only option to pay for shipping might be DHL and FedEx. |

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Let me get you clearly, should we text ''Allow'' or text ''stop''? I texted ''allow'' and i got ''You have been removed from full DND''. I'm confused here. |

kripen: Thanks for your response. my fear as a new buyer is that I am afraid of complaint I am getting from some ppl and the boot is desert boot(military boot) and hope it will not be seized by customs. when you mean "complaints from some people," do you mean some people there on Ali Express? What is the rating of the product? Focus on products that are 4.7 or 4.8 upwards. You can also send a private message to the seller and ask some questions. |

If there is anyone that can help me order the boot I will appreciate and pay the person. After paying for the boot and paying for the shipping fee, the next place you'll pay will be at the post office. N200 or N500 depending on location |

Seun: Please, can you help me find out the e-mail address of an organisation in lagos? The place is Associated Corporate Servers Limited, 11, Ahmed Onibudo Street, Victoria Island, Lagos-Nigeria. Their duty is providing Diamond Bank and some other banks with contract staff.
From my inbox. Hello Seun... I'm sure you'll be wondering why I had to send this message here. I have to apologize because I know it's absurd kind of. It seems there's no direct place to get the nairaland technicians here that's why. I have an account with the name "hausa" that I've been using for sometime, but I discovered I can't help it because whenever I log in, I see lots and lots of mentions that aren't directed to me. This became frustrating that I had to be using this current moniker. Although I've been using this for quite some time, I want to return to the old moniker "hausa". Kindly help me fix this problem... thanks. Nairaland is the best. |

I'm a seller too on fiverr.com and I know how critical a single dispute can damage your credibility. You are actually a very nice person; somebody like GrandMufti won't think twice before opening the dispute ... NO OFFENSE O
Please just go with what I suggested so you can favor the seller a little... If you don't know how to go about the PayPal ish, I can create time and post the steps here on this thread Hello Maxcoded... The package eventually came. I got a call today to come collect it at the post office. It was an 11/11 purchase. There was no need to do the PayPal stuff in the end. Thanks for your help... I also thank everyone that contributed at the time. |
