jauntee02:
following my poor performance for the past two years in the University with the inability to make it into 2nd class, i think i need your advice guys.

i applied through direct entry with a distinction from a polytechnic into a federal university. But i got carried away with "unnecessaries" that i couldn't make it even into the 2nd class level. now, we're about to end the session which is my 2nd year-which means i have only 1 year to complete my bsc program from that university (as it is a 4 year course).

i know i can't make it to second class form the result is too poor now.even if i have the best result in my final year, i won't still make it. Do you think it's a good idea to apply for another direct entry form next year into ilorin for i know i'm not that bad, but due to some "rubishes" i was involved. or do you think i should just carry on and end up with third class? pls your mature advice is needed!

thank you all
Hey! U have no problem at all. If u know in yourself that u're good, confident and have great ability, just finish and look for a job. I tell u what, all those telling u to reapply, quit, etc are not being very realistic.
U are not the first person to graduate with a 2nd class lower, a 3rd class, or a pass; & u wont be the last.
Who says that those who got 3rd class arent doing well?
Be realistic that's all. This is Nigeria

Education › Re: The Obafemi Awolowo University Admission Thread For 2014/2015 Academic Session. by hausadreturn(m): 1:11am On Nov 07, 2014
It was the first day of the session and a new fresh student, Mensah, a Ghanaian, joined the
class in one of Nigeria's universities.
The Lecturer said, "let's begin by reviewing some Nigerian history."
The Lecturer asked who said, "I shall return to die in the land of my fathers?"
She saw a sea of blank faces,
except for Mensah, who had his
hand up.
Mensah replied: "King Jaja of
Opobo, 1875" "very good!" said lecturer. Then she asked again, who said, "The land use
act will feed the nation?"
Again, no response except from Mensah:
"Obasanjo, 1976."
The Lecturer snapped at the class; "class, you
should be ashamed. Mensah, who is new to our Country, knows
more about its history than you do." The Lecturer heard a loud whisper: "Ghana must go"
"who said that?" she demanded,
Mensah put his hand up, "Buhari 1984."
At that point, a student in the
back scornfully said; "Hmmm, you think you are smart?"
The Lecturer glared and asked; "All right! Now,
who said that?"
Again, Mensah said, "Babangida to Abiola, 1992."
Now furious, another student
yelled; "Oh yeah! Eat this!" Mensah jumped out of
his chair waving his hand and
shouting to the Lecturer,
"Indian mistress giving an apple to Abacha,
1998"
Now, with almost mob hyseria, someone said; "You little shit. If you say anything
else, I'll kill you."
Mensah frantically yelled at the top of his voice;
"Chris Uba to Ngige, 2004!"
The Lecturer fainted, and as the class gathered
around her on the floor, someone said; "Oh shit, we're in Big trouble now!"
Mensah whispered; "Chimaroke Nnamani,
Ayodele Fayose and Lucky Igbinedon, 2007"
Someone angrily said; "Dont answer him, he is a
fool"
Mensah smiled replied; "Obansanjo to IBB, 2011" ·
Then a student again said we've started this
already,''no going back''
Mensah again said:
''Ibikunle to the students of OAU , 2014''...

true talk... The UNN admission process is crap. Eight years ago, I had 269 in jamb, and got admitted on merit to study law in unn... At the registration point, one mad staff there said my ssce result was postdated( whatever that means) and stripped me of my admission. Na so I take cry go house, after my parents don hapi say dia baby boy don hammer enter unn. I had even been allocated hostel sef, had attended a few lectures, among other things.... All my efforts to even get philosophy fell through... It was later that one of the staff confided in me that since I am Yoruba, I should just forget trying to get in, because even the 'nwa afors' had not all gotten in... I cried my eyes out. I was so devastated that I could not even muster the energy to take the next JAMB.. Two years after, I mustered enough courage to take Jamb again, opting to study law at OAU as first choice... With my JAmB score of 272 and and post ume score of 298, na my house I dey wey news of my admission on merit come meet me, without lobbying any OAU staff, or knocking on any office Door. I only resumed in school to do my registration and commence lectures. Na the same 'post dated' result OAU accept without as much as a raise of an eyebrow. Having now graduated strong and presently in law school, my middle finger goes to UNN, and whatever it is associated with.
hmmm. very strange. What exactly happened to d result b'cos u should have taken it up.
