sisiafrika: huh? Hausa? Med student? Smh.did u communicate? |
Exmay: I'm not saying its true or not. However, if it were to be true do you think your school authorities will confirm it? Because if they do, they are very much aware that it will result into panic among the student populace.... #just thinking loudu have a point. School might be shut down effective immediately |
sisiafrika: Blame Jonathan and the Igbos!how good are u in stirring a hornet's nest? Not good enough if u ask me |
Chiamaka01: I'm also scared of seeing, 'sorry, no admission is given yet', so i'll wait till the 20th or thereabout.calm down....time dey |
emmydan9: hello nairalanders a friend of mine frm Enugu scored 245.5 aggregate 4 pharmacy..is he under eldsThat's a Capital No. If any eastern state will be under elds, it'll be Ebonyi |
dora7891: well yes, I was going for a higher course at first, but mom had me change because she wasn't sure I'd make it, I wasn't even sure myself, i dint wanna risk it, but during my pd orientation I was told I could move from a lower to a higher course after being admitted.if u werent sure then, how're u sure that u can go on if u by chance get d pharmacy? |
Penboy: Hmm.. I guess it's time to check my post ume result afterall. Or should i just wait for the admission list to come out? A multi million dollar question.u must be pre-occupied with something else. U dont sound ready |
I had to rush down here when a girl called me crying that oau has released d cut offs, & that law is 291, medicine is 270+, etc. Before she did though, i had checked d senate building earlier & saw nothing. > We'll just watch & see. Infact, i'll have to check d senate again tomorrow. |
iceberylin: found myself in Peacemaker #2,meanwhile i love watching people fight without seprating...living in Mushin perhaps |
yeko68: I can as well put the child in a 4star hotel and pay tutors to be teaching him while he's in the jacuzzi, nonsense. The winner of the last Cowbell National Mathematics competition is a student of Iganmode Community Secondary School, Ota a public school none from any of these schools can compete with him so what's the big deal.i was talking about this earlier - that i dont see d names of these aforementioned schools in intellectual competitions. Someone quickly reproached me b'cos he thinks i attended a street school - well, so far so good... |
TAKETWO: True talk! My daughter graduated with a first class in Finance and Accounting in a reputable university in the U.K and yet she attended a public primary school, secondary school and college for her A levels all in the U.K. She's been made to realise since when she was a toddler that educational excellence can only be achieved through hard work. You cannot pay over the odds for your kid's education without motivation and input from you the parent and yet expect your kid to achieve academic excellence.interesting |
oliidell: Just to straighten this out, Odimegwu Ojukwu is not an ex Etonian. He attended Kings College Lagos, slapped a white teacher for humiliating a black lady, jailed briefly, expelled-I think, then sent off to Epsom College, Surrey, UK.i guess i mixed it up...my bad. If he slapped a teacher or thereabout, why still admit him in England since they had close links? |
iwonbaoko: Yea but what about him?? compared to Obasanjo or the Black Scorpion or Abacha. What did he achieve that his peers who did not go to Eton did not achieve. He was at d helm at a certain time or point in his life - age 33. You dont get to that kind of stage at 33 in present day Nigeria - very tight. Most people in that bracket are still unsure about their future. > He mustnt have been like Hitler before we'll scream that he achieved - or u dont think! I'm not particularly sure about black scorpion's achievements - his name shouldnt be on d list. And yes he went there - transferred from Kc. |
iwonbaoko: what about ojuikuEx Etonian |
Symphony007: exactly...schools like this have a curriculum dropped out of heaven. They teach their students over 5 foreign languages with special tutors and ear sets, and make sure each student must excel in one sports. Indeed schools like this groom great men who help each other. Example. Eton college, windsor, england. Produced over 6 british prime minister, foreign secretaries, diplomats, currently, david cameron, u.k prime minister, george osborne, chancellor of the exchequer, boris johnson, mayor of london are all old ethonians.dont forget - Ojukwu |
Kzinne: people on this site just blab intellectual this or that. stop abusing the word intellectual. what school did you attend? must be one of those street schoolsyour point? Fine, i attended a street school but yet i can access d internet, & still comment on issues on nairaland. Even if i didnt scale through other things with flying colours, this alone is a plus. > u just didnt comprehend well enough. Go & make some researches on some academic competitions held in Nigeria...these schools are not always there as winners - that is what i meant - lobatan |
Kzinne: think the question related to comparisons with the state schools. the kcs and qcs are still of a high standard compared to the expensive schools the op was talking about. most of these expensive schools ensure that there students pass their exams hook or by crook. who would pay such and not expect the best results for their wards? however the kcs, qcs, fgcs (first generation) are govt owned and not for profit. so the students would have to work hard to get good results, and do that on their ownna so o. Infact i dont see these names amongst those that win intellectual competitions. Apart maybe from d one someone mentioned - Jesuit Loyola @ Abuja |
But which is better? Taking your kids to uk (eaton hall) etc, to study than paying that kind of fees here? |
Kzinne: don't agree with you. what community secondary schools are you talking about? those street schools in lagos where hooligans come to for free education. where the teachers are paid very ridiculous sums as salaries. these private schools are way better. the only schools in nigeria that can beat them are the Kings Colleges, Queens colleges, and the first generation FGCs (federal government colleges- sagamu, ijaniki, odogbolu, enugu, ilorin). apart from these schools, sorry you are on a very long thingi agree with u a bit, but Kings & Queens colleges were d best in d 1940s, 50s, etc. Apart from these rich schools mentioned, i dont think they're top top. Gone are d days. |
50calibre: Hungry man!! You're not Dangote, (most people cannot and will not be Dangote) Dangote's Uncle was once the richest man in west Africa, who is the richest person in your family history?must u draw first blood? Tell me, what exactly warranted all these? |
HarrveySpecter: Yeah, that's it. Thankswhat does it mean? |
