Education › Re: Pls What Is Your Advice To A Guy That Wants To Study Nursing by Haustyne(m): 7:11pm On Jul 31, 2020 |
NewJ6322: Goodday I applied for a state University medicine and surgery and they recently made to the public that they won't be admitting students into medicine and besides i love obstetrics which has been my driving force to study medicine now am thinking for opting for nursing but due to reply from so many people I feel nursing is inferior for a guy and besides if I decide to specialize in maternal health while reading nursing it will be midwifery thereby limiting my scope of practice the most painful part is that someone said on Facebook that nursing is the surface area of medicine that nurses don't know up to 50percent of what the doctors know that there job is just care nothing more pls I need ur advice What happened to Jamb change of institution form? Pls change school, it is not compulsory to study in AAU. Nursing is very nice career even for males but pls dont do it. You dont even like the course cos you feel it is inferior to medicine. That inferiority complex will always be there for you, especially when you start working. |

Education › Re: Reopening Of Schools In Nigeria by Haustyne(m): 8:03am On Jul 29, 2020 |
A very nice piece, i must commend @op. Schools should have be open by now with the recovery rates, and guidelines in place for prevention of the spread of the virus, it should work but i dont think the Nigerian government is ready for schools to open schools yet. Just look at ASUU giving flimsy excuses on why they shouldnt open school, even online lecturing, they refused. Truth is they dont even care and it is up to us students for them to open school. They should be able combine online and in face teaching together to limit the number of students in classes and make face masks, hand sanitizers compulsory for students. |

klose4life: Good day everyone here. please, is it true that I can purchase UNIZIK, Lagos state university or ESUT post utme form meanwhile, I didn't choose them in my jamb and write them. And if my average reach their departmental cut off for the course I applied, they will give me admission. I intend to write med surg there. I chose UNICAL in my jamb.
Please someone should help a brother because information is power. I heard that one can write this three institution's post utme without putting them in one's jamb. Esut allows u to write post utme but they wont give u medicine or any competitive course. |

Zeeknow3245: I am not in a haste to study medicine. I am just looking for the one that will make more conversant with medical things ad won't make it so stressfull Do u think going for 2 undergraduate degrees is not stressful? I would not even advise anyone to dat except u had no choice (like u got another course when u applied for medicine). Applying for direct entry, i believe is more stressful and competitive. I would advise u reconsider. Anyways i think physiotherapy is better, because u will be more conversant with d basic med topics. |

Zeeknow3245: Yep I will choose chemistry anyday over biochemistry. Lol Do you know chemistry is harder than biochemistry and With a bit of chemistry, biochemistry will be a childs play. Besides chemists work virtually every. From pharmaceuticals,to cosmetics,to brewry to ..... A foundation of chemistry will make you know biochem. Besides Biochem is much of a waste in naija. Recall there is, organic, analytic, industrial chemistry. Lol, this is really funny, and also biochemists work in the places u mentioned |

olsamlaw: Good morning medics.
I did jamb again this year. I scored 321..... I chose UI but I think I will like to know more about uniport or uniben , udusok...... More opinions pls
I don't want to waste this score again. I had 308 and 80% in Ui post utme last year I'd advise you choose schools that do not write post utme like Udusok or unimaid. But if u are very sure of scoring 80% in ui post utme again, u can leave it in ui. Goodluck. |

Profyoungmeta: Okay, but do you think 76+ will be okay even if someone has 77. Is Unilorin admission really tough Unilorin admission is not transparent at all and u applying for DE mbbs increases the competition. Unilorin admission is mostly by connection and God's grace. |
Education › Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Haustyne(m): 9:43am On Jun 06, 2020 |
Profyoungmeta: Actually have known the postutme requirement in which am qualify to write their postutme but I want to know the score I need to have during their postutme exercise. So that I would be giving admission to Medicine Department Unilorin post utme exam comprises of mostly english, few general studies and maths. Honestly 70 doesnt guarantee you admission in medicine cos DE is very competitive and they admit small. Just score 76+ to be considered and pray to God. |
