hello sir,

Going by your testimony, i do not see anything wrong except there is a twist we dont know, probably something triggered and they need you to clear somethings but be rest assured that if you dont flout any law you most likely have nothing to worry about.

My advise is you go back to all your applications and look at it again to make sure there is no grey area anywhere pray n go collect your visa from them.

But there was somewhere u said your son was returning for the first time.. could you plss elaborate on thathuh
DrStrangelove:
Good morning House,

We just received 221G follow up interview for me and my wife. We wanted to renew our visas wch is expiring May 2nd. We applied for b1/B2 for the renewal and this will be our second renewal together. We gave birth in the US to our son in 2015 and she spent 5 months because of this. This was during her second trip to the US after our first we're we went for our vacation.

The vacation was for 3 weeks. Her stay during her second trip was for 5 months after which she came back. She declared at POE that she came to give birth during that time. I also travelled to go see them for about 5 weeks.

Afyer everything they came back home. Though I came back before them. We made sure we got zero balance statements for all the bills (hospital, obgyn, lab tests, anaesthesiologist, pediatrics etc). We then reapplied using Dropbox and we were both granted visas. This was early 2017. So we decided to travel when we would be chanced wch was going to be early December to late December. She later decided to go to London with my daughter to see her family there while me headed to the US to visit a friend. We both spent about a month on both places and came back.

We didn't travel throughout 2018 due various reasons. We now decided to travel in July 2019 to NYC to visit a friend. We chose Newyork as we have never been there before and wanted a change from the southern states. And also this would be first time our son is returning. This is the time we can get to get off work so we decided to reapply early so that we can start planning for the visit. Nothing has changed in our previous application. I run a consulting firm with my wife as a Legal/compliance manager. She is a lawyer with 7 yrs post call.

Now the issue is my wife is 2months pregnant. We don't really know what to expect as this has put us in a precarious situation.

I think what ticked them off was 1. My wife's 5 months stay 2. She not using the previous visa in the validity period 3. Or the destination of our visit to NYC ( we are visiting a family friend and this was stated in the application with details)

Pls advise.

Also we can't seem to get a date for the follow up interview as the embassy hasn't released dates for them yet. My appointment page for dates always comes up blank. Am hoping we get a close date as anything further might complicate our case. Pls advise

Many thanks for your quick response but i have her birth certificate and i would like to know what other documentation i would need as proof. meanwhile her mother is not anywhere near my radar will that be a disadvantage on my part??
seyewest:
Yes of course and do it fast because when she's 17 I'm not sure it's possible to accompany her and remember to get a consent letter from the mom also since she's still a child remember the human trafficking code you click before submitting the form which means the Embassy may want to verify things so you should go with her birth certificate and necessary document.

hey bro, You should have mentioned it ho the VO that you have a valid UK Visa and wish to travel to the UK before proceeding to the US for your holiday which might give much better weight. Best of Luck in your next try.
TheAristocrat:
Hello everyone.Sadly my visa application was denied today at the Abuja consulate. Below is my transcript. VO: Pass me your passport. Me: Hands it over to her. VO: So why are you going to Houston? Me: I will be on leave in April and plan to spend part of it as vacation. VO: What's your occupation? Me: I'm a Chemical Engineer with ****(An agency under Ministry of Petroleum Resources. VO: How much do you earn?Me:N720K comprising my salary and other allowances earned. I also earn N1.2m as dividend.....(VO cuts in,wanted to explain that the 1.2m was dividend from my investment in shares. VO: How long have you worked with ****?Me:Six years, this August. VO: Have you travelled outside Nigeria before? Me: I have been to the UAE twice. VO: Are you married? Me: No. VO: Unfortunately..........(hands me my passport and the refusal notice). Note: It was my first application. I also have a valid UK visa though I honestly can't remember if the VO checked the passport. So thank you everyone for your contributions to the thread. They were really helpful. Apologies if this is tedious to read, I used a phone to type.

Is It Right? Doctors Spent Hours To Save Your Life In Theatre, You Take Your Gifts To Pastors - Freeze

Daddy Freeze don start again today oo, this time he is questioning the idea and wisdom behind taken ones' 'thank you gifts' to pastors after doctors most have spent hours in the theatre saving the life of that particular person.

But Daddy Freeze, the thing is, doctors will even tell you that they administer medications and do their best but in the end, its only God that heals. Though you have a point in your submission but nevertheless, doctors are being paid before they even start saving ones life.

What do you think guys?

TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by hawklan: 9:23am On Nov 30, 2017
Appreciate your response but i would like to add that going to yankee and extent of stay differ from immigrant to immigrant from a reliable source am not denying if the said person will not be invited but all am saying is the reason for staying depends on the traveller and breaching any US law was not actioned then i still dont see any issue with it. #mysmallchinchin
TWoods:
Technically not true. When you apply for a visa, you told them that you had a job or school or something that would compel you to return to Nigeria. Staying 5 months at a time suggests that this is not the case.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by hawklan: 9:42am On Nov 28, 2017
As long as you know you have not violated any rule or law guiding against your stay, At the POE you are stamped to stay for 6 months how u want to use it is your business but just don't over stay which from your explanation you haven't. kindly go ahead and do your drop box and expect your goodnews.

FamilyRe: Ikoyi Marriage Registry: Info Needed! by hawklan: 12:58pm On May 31, 2017
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GETTING MARRIED AT IKOYI MARRIAGE REGISTRY

A. Why Ikoyi Registry?
It is one of the few federal marriage registries In Nigeria, the others being in Abuja, most Nigerians have the erroneous belief, though not totally biased, that weddings held in federal marriage registries are the most recognized and acceptable legal wedding ceremonies. There exists state and local government marriage registries also that basically performs the same function of joining couples together and totally recognized by the laws of the land. However , by many people's standards , it is either Ikoyi or nothing at all. I believe the more reason why most intending couples chose Ikoyi registry is for traveling purposes, as many countries require a marriage certificate as legal proof/evidence of the relationship between two individuals. and as such federal marriage licenses may be preferred.

B. Location:
Ikoyi federal marriage registry is located along the Kingsway road, just after Golden gate restaurant, Nnpc filling station and just before climbing he bridge that leads to Barbeach /Lawschool coming from Falomo road.

C. Criteria / Requirements for a Ikoyi registry
For couple based in Nigeria

1. Birth certificates/ Age declaration of both spouses and children (If applicable). The spouses must be above age of consent and of marriageable

Ikoyi Registry Marriage
age.
2. Sworn affidavits to declare Spinsterhood/ Bachelorhood/Widowhood/Divorce state/Number of children ( As applicable to the spouses). -N1000 Each
3. Divorce certificate or Death certificate of a previous partner (If applicable)
4. Oath taking: Done only on Tuesdays
5. Marriage license: Church notification fee (N21,000) and Processing fee (N10,000)
6. Notice of marriage forms (This includes data such as full names,Ages, addresses, phone numbers, names of witnesses, occupations, and signing of consent)
7. A waiting period of 21 days after all payments have been done before the wedding can take place. Couple must have taken the Oath/ swearing in prior to the wedding.

The days slated for wedding are as follows:
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
The first three days are booked at a N1000 each, while Saturday being the busiest day and a weekend is N3500.

For couple ( Either or both spouse) based outside Nigeria

1. The above items.
2. Photocopies of the data page, stamped entry page and visas on the passports of the partners including those of children (If applicable)

D. Other points to be considered:

1. The total cost of a Ikoyi marriage is on the average about N35000, except in cases where you want to expedite the wedding, that is have it in few days, you pay special and expedited fees. Another N20000 or depending on your power of negotiation. So plan ahead to avoid rush and inconveniences. You willl be given a generated token/code to make the required payments at any bank , you are required to bring back tellers for paperwork and processing.

2. There are numerous vendors that abound in Ikoyi registry. All you need is already awaiting you there. Food sellers, touts, makeup artists, business centers, wedding gowns/ accessorizes dealers, reception hall (Charged for use at a fee) , photographers. Some services come cheap while others are exploitative, the food prices is moderate but other things are charged at a higher cost.
To rent a wedding gown is N10000- N15000 (Depending on the use, purpose, duration and days), Bouquets is N1000 for rent. You may consider getting most of the items you need before coming to the venue to avoid exploitation and being at the mercy of who you happen to find on such an important date.

3. Parking is limited, in fact the facilities are small compared to the volume of human traffic that visit the registry office. So consider going with as few friends/ family members as possible. Use just one or two cars or else you will end up looking for parking space elsewhere. Also there are not enough sitting spaces or toilet facilities, you will likely be standing throughout, so wear clothing/shoes as comfortable as possible and be prepared to leave once your business is done.

4. On the average, 100 weddings take place per day, the lowest during the week, 70 weddings and the largest during weekends as high as 200/300 weddings (And they say there is no love again -Just wondering ). Each wedding lasts for about 5- 10 minutes , without much fuss. Couples must arrive early to take positions or numbers , each wedding is On "First come, first serve basis", except you also influence officials to hustle you along, which is not advisable to do as honorable individuals planning to have a new start.

5. You can choose to have a registry marriage which is the recognized legal marriage by the court of laws and rule of the land. Or have a church wedding in licensed religious places of worship which will also give the couple a certificate marriage obtained previously from the registry office. So find out if your church/mosque is licensed . If not , any activity in the church is just a church blessing, you will still need to have the legal framework for your marriage satisfied, therefore the registry wedding.

E. What and who to bring to the wedding:
1. A token of wedding (Ring/ Quran /Bible)
2.Two witnesses , one from each side of the spouse.
3. Food/ Drinks/ Refreshments/ Photographers (Optional)

F. What to wear:
Female: Any of the following will do
a. Complete three piece Skirt , shirt and suit b. Wedding gown c. A formal /corporate attire/gown or d. A native attire with head covering /Gele .
Shoes: Comfortable heels

Male: Any of the following will do
a. Complete three piece Shirt ,Trousers and suit
b. A native attire complete with cap.

(No to jeans, short sleeves, minis, sleeveless or nude clothing, slippers, sandals, )

P:S

As of 2017, Nigeria does not recognize transgender, same sex marriages and re therefore not authorised or carried out at the marriage registry centers.

The fees and information provided in this post are true as at April 2017. They are subject to change , to confirm, visit the the registry office for detailed and updated information .
