Are you one of the book-smart, intelligent efikos on Nairaland? If yes, come and prove yourself!! “Photos“, “Pictures” and the word “Image”are three most confusingly and wrongly used words that I have ever come across in real life and on Social media. Sometimes, I hear people say “Pictures”, while some prefer to just simply say “Photos”.And in most cases I have encountered some people who will use the word “Image” in similar context as those that will use “Photos” and “Pictures”. Meanwhile, I have been tempted to conclude that the three words are the same but I think I have to be sure. So, we need clarifications as regards the differences that exist among the three words. The question here is,What Is The Difference Between Photo, Image & Picture? Let’s see who is intelligent enough to give us the correct answer to this!!Drop your comment. Lets learn on Nairaland! |

Well the transfer window has got a bit crazy in the last few days hasn't it. Now to add to all the mayhem surrounding Neymar, Alexis Sanchez and Kylian Mbappe, it seems that Philippe Coutinho has agreed terms with Barcelona. Last weeks big news was that PSG were willing to not only break but smash the world record transfer into tiny pieces unseen by the human eye in order to sign Neymar from Barcelona. The French side are reportedly on the verge of offering the near £200 million that is Neymar's transfer release clause to bring him to Paris with the Brazilian considering the move. Apparently the player is either unhappy at not being the main man behind Messi or is unhappy at being the only Brazilian left at the club. Step forward Philippe Coutinho. Reportedly a Barcelona target for a while and now the man who could save them from losing one of their best players as well. Now according to reports on Spanish radio station Catalan Radio RAC1 the Spanish side and the player have agreed a deal after representatives of the club flew to Liverpool. Of course it doesn't end there with rather a huge stumbling block still in the way of any deal. That of course is Liverpool not wanting to sell. Coutinho is one of Jurgen Klopp's best players and the German isn't going to be willing to just hand him over to Ernesto Valverde. According to reports Barca have already had a £72 million bid for the 25 year old former Inter attacking midfielder turned down. The Reds hold all the cards as they know how desperate Barca are for the deal and because the player only signed a new deal last year that keeps him at Anfield until 2022. Klopp's team are looking for around £89 million before they would consider selling the former Espanyol loanee and given the current market that seems very fair. It might not be ideal for Barca but if they want to keep Neymar they might have to dig a little deeper in their pockets. What a transfer window we're having.

Chelsea face having to pay Diego Costa his full wages for another six months as they struggle to offload him. The Sun says instead of offloading the striker the champions could be shelling out another reported £185,000-a-week until he leaves next year. That's around another £3.7million the Blues could pay the Spaniard for doing nothing. Despite his agent Jorge Mendes holding meetings in the Italian capital with AC Milan top brass, Costa is still holding out for a return to Atletico Madrid by any means necessary. The Italian giants have offered him an escape route out of West London – but only on a long term deal. The forward is still sunning himself in his native Brazil and is hoping super-agent Mendes can find a way for him to get back to Spain, without having to get there via Italy. Even the prospect of a mooted loan stint in Italy until Atletico's transfer embargo is lifted in January is not exactly filling the striker with joy. |

Brazil star Neymar is set to earn a whooping basic salary of £26.8m-a-year (€30m) after tax which is around £515,000-a-week (N248m-per-week and N35m-per-day). The PSG-bound player has agreed a five-year deal with PSG and is due in Paris within the next two days to finalize his transfer and is due in Paris within the next two days to finalize his transfer. The transfer will be the most expensive ever in world football history with a total value of worth nearly £450m (N217bn), which includes wages, bonuses and a buyout clause of £198m (€222m).

Nigerians have been warned against consumption of ‘suya and boli’. The President, Society for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Nigeria President, Prof Musa Borodo, gave this warning at a press briefing commemorating the 10th Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting of the association in Ado Ekiti. Borodo warned that diseases such as colorectal cancer, liver cancer, helicobacter pyloris and other infections that occur in the gastrointestinal tract were usually not easy to detect when looking out for signs and symptoms. He added that when the symptoms were obvious, they were often too late to treat. According to him, about 10 percent of people in Nigeria are suffering from Hepatitis B – a viral infection – which he warned could lead to cancer, if not properly treated. “This (Hepatitis B) is something that can be prevented, if you don’t treat it, it could become cancer. So, it is a huge problem,” he said. Speaking on the theme, “Gastrointestinal Malignancies in Africa: Past, Present and Future,” Borodo said it was chosen to create awareness on early detection of cancer, prevention and cure. “The forum is to increase knowledge, expertise and foremost research of interests in diseases affecting alimentary canal,” he added. Borodo lamented that two cases of cancer at end stage are reported daily in the treatment centre. He advised people to take natural foods, avoid refined sugar, eat well, exercise regularly, drink clean water, visit hospitals for routine check up and stay away from smoking to avoid cancer, saying, “taking burnt boli (plantain), burnt suya and refined drinks as they could cause cancer. On his part, the Consultant General Surgeon, Lagos State University, Teaching Hospital, Dr. Mobolaji Oludara, lamented the rot of equipment, training and materials in handling liver transplant in Nigeria. |
Nigerian Rapper, Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, known as Reminisce, has revealed plans to join politics very soon. The rapper disclosed this in a chat with Punch, while also regretting his decisions of not being a graduate. While speaking, he emphasised on importance of education, advising youths to go to school and become graduates no matter their talent or skills. “For anybody who wants to make a career out of music, you have to be sure that you are skilled and that it’s something that you can do sustainably; if not, go to school. “Either ways, it is important to go to school, whether you go into full-time music or not. “I am interested in politics and I see myself becoming a politician in future. One is not going to do music forever and I need to plan my life properly. I also love to engage in business, so I see myself doing a lot of that too. “I actually regret not being a graduate,” he said. When asked about his personal life, Reminisce added that he prefers to invest in people rather than flaunting material things on social media which he finds unnecessary. “There is a very big difference between Reminisce, the artiste, and Remi, the family man. I thank God because I’m comfortable and I don’t need validation on social media. “I don’t have to put everything I own on social media so that people would know that I have arrived. Inasmuch as I’m not begging anybody for food, it’s all good. “Instead of flaunting material things, I prefer to invest in people.” |
