Profgordons: Well, my previous posts are there to see if I supported the community or not. Many whom my detailed and well outlined PPR story and other follow up responses helped can testify to that. I remember one of my posts tagged on Page 1 showing how helpful I was. Expecting those who got PPR years ago to consistently and continously show up here is like asking a graduate to keep living on campus just to show loyalty. When people tag us on questions, we show up. People move on and priorities shift. Shalom 12 Likes |

Hello Fam, I last posted here in Part 9 where I got my PR. , awa set LadyMarshal I have a friend who is finally ready to JAPA after years of persuasion and need some updated information as I presume my information may no longer be valid with the way IRCC has been updating policies anyhow. Please, do you know if WES now evaluates AAT as being equivalent to any Canada qualification and if it will count as 2 or more certificates when combined with a Bsc? I know ICAN ACA was useless, has this changed? I wish everyone on this journey GOD's speed and divine favour in the sight of the VOs, medical officers and anyone working on your files Shalom! Thank you Nairaland, thank you Seun for creating this platform. The materials I used to ace ACCA, I got the seller from this platform 2014 - 2016, I got some ICAN buddies who we shared ICAN tips together, we are all chartered From this platform I got a lot of customers who needed a wardrobe manager, the business got me my first car In 2016, I applied for a job posted here, did not get the job but connected with the international recruiter who posted the job and helped me land a life transforming job as a Country Finance Manager for a multi-national 8 months later In 2017, my colleague turned Big Sis directed me to Nairaland Canada Japa thread and today, I am typing from Calgary, Alberta. Little wonder, I visit Nairaland everyday though I now use it as a guest as compared to when I always login Well, throwback to 2014 abi 2015 when I contested for Mr. Nairaland on a sad note, in 2012; I learnt importation business on Nairaland but failed woefully with my human hair business, DHL did me dirty that year 5 Likes |

BluntTheApostle: Is Nigeria a well developed country? How many investors are there in the local movie industry like in the developed countries you referred to? How many movies are insured against poor cinema run like in the developed countries you referred to? Stop judging the local market with developed countries standards without considering the peculiar factors. Think global, act local |

It is actually unwise to start writing reviews about movies within a week. Atleast let these people recoup their investment before you start influencing fans' decision to see or not to see a movie. This is pure wickedness. I saw Omo Ghetto the saga last night, I enjoyed it so much that I had to post that every scene was a banger (if I didn't, I will hold my opinion till perhaps after a week before posting) I also saw Toyin's "The Prophetess", I was screaming like a baby, great script and amazing delivery, emotional yet superb and funny. If you didn't enjoy the movies, atleast give them 2weeks to make some traction on their ROI before spitting rubbish. Awon oni gbese reviewers. 4 Likes |

epdcan: I soft landed last November too. I will advise you to file your tax. I was able to file as a non-resident PR via Turbotax and faxed the T1 document which I received from TurboTax after completing the process to CRA fax number for non Resident PR. However, you will be required to use a Canadian address to complete the filing process. I reported my 2019 income from Nigerian under global income, it is not taxable in Canada as T1 recorded my total taxable income as 0.00 A month after faxing the T1, I got an email that my CRA account has been created with the Notice of Assessment also uploaded unto the CRA profile however I have not been able to access my CRA account. I need to call CRA customer service to grant me access/send me login security code as non resident but they seem to be very busy with CERB, EI etc 6 Likes 6 Shares |

Each time I visit this thread, the first place I go to is the first page to check for Ednut, I did the same this morning and felt bad your name wasn't listed yet and kind of concluded perhaps you are team Accra until I saw someone congratulating on the last page. I am so excited for you Bro. GOD's shall restore the time IRCC took to process your application with unprecedented breakthroughs. Congratulations Tunero. I have learnt not to ask people who already submitted application what's up with their application as this kind of question actually put me under pressure than helped when I was an applicant. People may think the question shows they care but in reality, it put people under pressure and get them to start thinking about the application especially when one is trying not to think about the delay. Well, Congratulations again Ednut, from Naija to Canada Straight ednut1: 6 Likes |

Please ensure you pay attention to this Ontario requirement below; Two Referee Recommendations. okokobiokoman: I traveled light but my electric extension box was trashed at Cairo airport, I had it in my backpack. I should have just checked it in. Well, during the long stopover; it made me a superstar as several nationals were able to charge with it before it was trashed prior to boarding. It felt good to have been able to help others I forgot to state in my gist that we were further delayed by two (2) hours in Cairo only to compensate us with small juice can and bottle water. Na so I stood for one aged black woman (perhaps a Nigerian Canadian) inside the intra-airport conveying bus to sit, I got a nonchalant "Don't worry"/snub. I doubt if I will do that again except here in Nigeria. EgyptAir tends to be a cheaper option for Lagos to Toronto flight but expensive for Lagos to Calgary when compared with Ethiopian Airline. Btw, no free Wifi at Cairo airport as at November 2019. 4 Likes 4 Shares |

LANDING GIST I flew EgytAir and got to the airport by 10am for a 12:45pm flight. I had just a check-in bag and one backpack. I had cereal and coco balls in the check-in bag to keep me for the 3days should incase I couldn't find nice food. I emptied it into ziplock nylon and had no issues. Check in was fast. As usual, I was asked for tips, I told them I had already changed my money. Well I only travelled with 500CAD which I changed at the Airport. I had my debit cards handy though. On the final flight to Toronto, we were giving a declaration form on the flight. If you have more than 10k CAD, please declare it, if you can at all the airports, Nigeria inclusive (better be safe than sorry o) I landed 7:00am, less immigration queue. I met with the CBSA or na CSBA officer, he asked 1. if my family composition had changed (since I applied as a single immigrant) and 2.If I had any conviction Upon landing. (The playful me almost said yes just to make him laugh since he was looking too serious but thank GOD my village people didn't succeed) He signed my COPR and I reminded him the need to welcome me to Canada . Welcome to Canada, he said smiling. In Toronto, CBSA share the same partition with Service Canada, less than 1mins walk. I had to wait a bit for them to be ready to attend to us since we came earlier than resumption time I presume. We were giving a small form to fill and in no time, SIN was issued. Agent Lee (an Asian attended to me). Very firm yet shared some good information. The need to layer up clothes, how I need to get on Indeed, LinkedIn etc to start networking. The next and final check was when I was about exiting the airport. I presume this is where you will need to present your *Goods to follow list*. They may also decide to open and check your luggage. Mine wasn't checked. I used my friend's address in Manitoba, she recieved my PR in 15days and dispatched using DHL to Nigeria which I got 4days after. Custom opened it to confirm the content perhaps Canada Custom or the US. My phone wouldn't load Uber, thank goodness, a friend in the US whom I was able to call with WhatsApp using the Airport Wifi ordered Uber for me also controlled the driver to my terminal (GOD bless him for me). I stayed in an Airbnb for the 3days. I landed 7:00am on Friday and left for Nigeria 2:00pm on Monday. GOD bless Canada and Nigeria 59 Likes 11 Shares |
