Vicolak:I used ACCA certificate. I was exempted from 6papers out of the 14papers and still got it evaluated as 4years degree equivalent while my ND also as 2years diploma passing as two or more certificates. I did not evaluate my HND, it was taking my school eternity to provide transcript (change of system story) hence I emailed WES to remove HND and replace with ACCA. For anyone who intend to evaluate HND, you cannot evaluate only HND as WES will request for the ND also as it serves as a prerequisite for HND. Cheers |
ladymarshall:This season 8 ehn, we don enter. The fear of ladymarshal's discretion is the beginning of extra sheet request ![]() |
Welcome to Season 8 ![]() |
iaatmguy:Kindly blur out the person's phone number and name, that is too much information. A lot could be done with the number, identity theft et al. |
raphrulz:Congratulations Bro. It is indeed a great feat I will PM you ![]() |
Olusapo:Search for Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 on Google or Nairaland and study page 0 or 1 like you will be sitting for a professional exam thereafter. All the best. |
ananne:WES requires transcript for evaluation. To claim two or more certificates, you also need to send your OND statement of result or Letter of Completion or Certificate and transcripts. All things being equal, Laspotech should have resolved the system issue by now. All the best. |
LaVieCestBonBon:From my experience, I found the real reading exam simplier than past questions I solved perhaps because I wrote several professional exams back to back for 3 years and used to exam condition. I had enough time to go through my answers and read the questions like 2 times. From people's experience I have been reading on here, I realised I took this IELTS for granted as my mindset was "no be just English?". Thank GOD for his mercies. |
Millalorinzzz:I did same, I had in the past gotten my transcript from Laspotech for Mckinsey's application with ease but years after when I needed it for WES, Laspotech came up with a long story about changing the system hence old graduates had miscomputed CGPA on the transcripts, I waited for over 3months with the story changing per second afterwhich I emailed WES to remove HND and I added my ND from Ibadan. If you have never gotten your Certificate from Ibadan Poly, be prepared to pay almost 25k for the certificate alone as transcript will not be prepared if you haven't paid for certificate or able to present a copy of the certificate if you have it. I claimed 2 or more combining ACCA and ND. Please go ahead, it is possible |
hayor2014:Thank you for the feedback, I greatly appreciate. |
hayor2014:I read online that CPA Ontario requires two references who are already certified by Ontario CPA and should have known the applicant by atleast year. Can this be waived for immigrants so an ACCA member can process before landing? |

realone2012:ACCA affiliate or membership will be evaluated as 4years bachelors degree (as per my evaluation report) while F1-F9 (Advance Diploma) is evaluated as 3years Bachelors degree (as seen on Canadavisa forum). Fortunately for me I wrote ICAN and ACCA concurrently and got six papers exemptions (F1-F6) as I cleared some papers before deciding to start sitting for both exams concurrently. Should you write ACCA professional papers after being exempted from F1-F9, you should get a favourable evaluation as you weren't exempted from all the 13-14papers but 9. Logically if you were exempted from all the 9papers, you may be not get a favourable evaluation for the Advance Diploma. On a flip side, that is if you are a risk taker like me (high risk, high reward) and willing to try your luck evaluating the Advance Diploma that is if you were issued after claiming exemption with ICAN. WES may decide to request for the certificate and transcripts used in getting the exemptions which in this case is ICAN. Using comparative analysis of the cost implication and time, waiting to write 4 professional level paper should you pass at first sitting may take 4 diets (1 - 2years) and the cost may be well over 500GBP. I will suggest (not compel) you risk evaluation with WES if you have the Advance diploma. Nothing ventured, nothing gained Long time silent follower of this thread and Living in Canada thread but my first contribution ![]() I had to come out of my hidding place to provide feedback based on my personal experience even though someone already stated you will not get a favourable evaluation after sitting for the professional level because of the exemption which is not totally valid. O ma ja so pe Las las ni ![]() PS: This response is based on the assumption that you are evaluating ACCA with another qualification to count as two or more certificates. Someone once mentioned on Canadavisa forum that his ACCA Oxford Brooked University (OBU) certificate was evaluated as 3years Bachelor and ACCA membership/affiliate evaluated as 4years which counted as 2 or more. Apologies, I couldn't dig up the thread/link. Cheers. |

KhalikanENT:You are absolutely right but you do not get attention taking on a nobody. This is why it is a form of market penetration strategy. In the 21st century, penetration strategy is beyond pricing and promotion, it is also a number game that jumping on trends may also deliver. Beyond the ORNGE, did you also notice that Sterling Bank jumped on the STEW tagline? (it is game of number). People who seek attention online do not target unknown people but celebrities with huge online followers, same applies here. It is a strategy that get results any time, any day. |
Following the success of Sterling bank's last jab at other banks, she is back again with another upper cut satirical ad targeted at GTB. How will Sterling bank win? The AD will get banks' staff and customers talking, some defending their brands/employer, some enjoying and following the trend while some will be compelled to google Sterling bank out of annoyance or to know what sponsored the bank's recent gut. Another amazing angel to this strategy is how you start seeing ADs relating to the your recent google search. I hope Sterling bank already activated some affiliated ADs that would pop-up to maximize the effect of the recent social buzz. Googling Sterling bank will expose the researcher to their products that may get his/her attention and make him/her enlist for her services. Media buzz is a good business. Sterling bank sure understands it is a game of numbers which can be heavily influenced by being in the news and trending on social media. Nice job to Sterling Bank's creative guys. © Ayobami Akinade https://www.linkedin.com/in/ayobamiakinade/

1BB007:I beg to differ, I know many ACAs and ACCAs that cannot journalise entries. Paper qualification is not enough |
I was privileged to interview about about 15 applicants with 1 - 6 years post NYSC experience for a role. My take away include: Years of experience is just a number - out of the applicants, the applicant with 1 year experience was better exposed, sound and suitable because he had worked with companies that had exposed him to several scenarios than entities that just pay you salaries for warming the chairs. I can tell if you are speaking based on book knowledge or experience and exposure. Disregard the high unemployment rate, with time you can get your dream job without a godfather - the employment rate in Nigeria is still very high but the competition is extremely low. If you are truly sound, you will get that job as over 90% of applicants are jokers and uncompetitive; they are graduates but not for this jet-age. When you go for an interview and meet people with Stanford degrees, don't hide and disqualify yourself even if all you got is a HND - majority of the applicants cannot defend their certificates. Be hungry, be ambitious and seek for knowledge. Your dream for a dream job is valid, you can achieve it if you distinguish yourself. If you want to practice in a regulated field e.g Accounting, HR, Law et al, seek professional qualification before running off to bag an MBA/MSC - I interviewed for a finance role and one key learning points that was visible to the blind and audible to deaf was that applicants who were not even chartered accountants but had only passed a stage of ICAN examinations spoke like professionals and gave reasonable assumptions to practical questions. They could to an extent think out financial ideas and solutions. During internships and post NYSC, don't settle for the pay cheque, settle for the experience and exposure - majority of the applicants had years of experience without real experience in the years. First hustle for experience and exposure (2Es), money will come knocking when you are fully loaded with the 2Es. Spend more time learning soft skills and less time with snapchat filters, whatsapp updates - no matter your field, learn how to use Microsoft office's Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You don't have to be an expert, learn beyond the basics. For financial enthusiasts, learn beyond Excel's SUM function, know how to use Pivot table at least. In conclusion, applicants should learn to own the interview session; speak like you are gisting with your mom, dad, pastor and not a "god". Be lively, laugh (it makes you human). I used to be an introvert but in interviews, I take charge as the applicant; I laugh. I remember tears "loading" in my eyes a few yearsago before a panel of an oil and gas company when they told me I was the best so far but overqualified for the role (who overqualication help Sir? Mr. Panelist, give me this mountain [job]). They gave me a referral to another company but I don't just apply to any company. It is your stage not the panelist's, don't just perform like most musical artists, entertain, be hungry, be ambitious. You can land that dream job. www.nairaland.com/attachments/4611929_mmm_jpeg8b802860e4b7cf49223e902205d7cbb4 Having lost 2,300,000NGN (two million, three hundred thousand naira) to WealthSolution, Real & Cool, PennyWise and the likes in June 2007, not subscribing to MMM was no brainer as it is only a matter of time before the schemers would pull the plug. As much I do not want to subscribe to the school of thought that it has crashed already, it may surely not survive the next 60days as anyone who survives this end of the year shocker (account freeze) would need no prophet to advise him/her to stay clear should he be able to finally receive help come January. In January, the 30days gap would make almost everyone whose account was placed on hold/freeze qualify to get help but who would be ready and willing to GIVE HELP, Me? Four (4) weeks ago, it became evident that the scheme was heading down south when one subscriber who needed to cash out 470,000NGN was assigned 21 other subscribers to give him help (send him money). This shows that there is increase in the number of people offering to give help of less than 30,000NGN compared to a few months ago when people were placing in as much as 1,000,000NGN. Please note that I do not refer to them as investors as they are not investors rather gamblers. After interviewing some guiders, captains, subscribers and reading some online articles, I got a better understanding of how the scheme actually works (the matching algorithm and cash out model). A subscriber who is due to cash out (receive help) is assigned one or more other subscriber(s) who is/are due to give help. When the time is right for the schemers to pull the plug, crash the scheme in Nigeria and finally cashout, the same model would be adopted to avoid suspicion however only with some selected number of more greedy and trusted guilders and captains who would be paid a percentage of the amount they are able to pull perhaps the same 30%. I will explain further in the next paragraph. It is assumed that MMM Nigeria has over 3,000,000 (three million) Nigeria dwellers (citizens and non-citizens) who already enrolled on the MMM platform, I would refer to them as active accounts. All the schemers need to do is to create a syndicate of greedy, trusted and highly secretive captains and guilders of at-least 1,000 out of the 3,000,000 active accounts, whose account would be assigned to other unsuspecting subscribers to give help to. Just like the existing model, no one would notice any foul play as nothing has changed; the process has not been modified in any way only that only a selected number of people (syndicate) are receiving help from others. Let’s assume that MMM Nigeria is pulling out 250,000,000,000NGN (two hundred and fifty billion naira), each of the 1000 would get 250,000,000NGN, imagine being promised to get 30% of any amount you pull, that is 75,000,000NGN, trust me, an average guilder and captain would sell his/her birthright to get that amount and care-less about the crashing MMM Nigeria or otherwise . The sudden account inflow should raise a flag within the banks’ core system as some of the guys’ account may never have recorded such inflow before. FLAG Number 1. – BANKS to be on ALERT, Anti-money laundering monitor should flag the accounts Getting the funds out of the country to the chief schemer Mavrodi or his accomplice would be the next stage of execution but this would be a tall order due to the stringent FX policies surrounding inflow and outflow of funds in and out of Nigeria. Money laundering is an option but highly risky and could easily give them away. Another option would be to further integrate the money into the system by transferring between accounts before finally pulling it out of the country. Illustration A gets 50m deducts his/her 30%, moves the balance of 175,000,000NGN to B, B moves 170m to C, C move 165m to D until 150m gets to F. This would make tracking the funds difficult and easier to escape any money laundering trap within the banking systems. Another reasonable option would be to use FORM M and FORM A. The schemers engage registered foreign corporate entities in different countries to issue supposedly genuine and valid documents (Bill of Entry, Commercial Invoice, Bill of Lading / Airway bill etc.) to enable them access foreign currencies through FORM M and FORM A in disguise for payment for imported goods. The banks could be of immense assistance here as the FORMs would be accessed through the banks. FLAG Number 2. – BANKS to be on ALERT in issuance of FORM M and A Another option is smuggling the funds through the borders to another country(ies) from where the funds would be transferred to different accounts in different countries to outsmart any forensic investigations – FLAG Number 3 – CUSTOMS to the rescue Yes, people were warmed but it is not always easy to say NO to this kind of schemes, I also learnt the hard way. All the best to MMM Nigeria Subscribers, this is the only way I could help with tracking of your funds and possible retriever. © Ayobami Akinade AAT, ACA, ACCA(affiliate) Management Consultant |
