Men, Bro's please show me the way o.
I need to start taking PLAB or USMLE seriously.
I think you should, except your folks are rich... Then you can own your business.

PLAB is the fastest route-- and cheaper.

US however is where the 'biggest' bucks is.
(But in the UK, your tax is put to good use-- health, education and all!)

But who says you can't have both?

Once you get out and oyinbo breeze blows your head small, you will automatically know what to do-- gbe body e! grin

you are the typical nigerian who expects doctors to treat you for free because their reward is in heaven

continue. i hope for your sake you are rich, because the brain drain is back. doctors are not waiting around for the mercies of ungrateful nigerians

now back to the point that completely flew over your head.

every profession has industries or niches where its practiononers are well paid.

instead of whining about civil service, find an industry where you are a prime driver

an engineering firm has accountants, drivers, engineers, drafters, it guys. who do you think are the best paid people in the office?
an oil company has an it dept, a clinic, engineering departments, safety. who do you think are the best paid?
a bank has facilities management, it, different banking units, security dept. who is the best paid

when i was younger, people would say - don't do this profession it does not pay, that profession does not pay and so on
one of my dad's friends was warning me against architecture. in my second job, i was in the construction design industry and i met architects absolutely killing it.

pull yourself together and get yourself into an industry where your profession pays. or you can sit on your butt whining about entry level wage gasps
You killed it bro!

People fighting over Level 8 or 12...
How much are they even paying?

I know a woman who makes a killing on her laptop.

She is so much in high demand, she turns down jobs-- makes about 3 mil a month (on her laptop, mostly on her living room couch)

Her certificate is never mentioned, it's what she can do... and she can do a lot!

Nobody demands respect in life, it is earned!

If society places value on some professions more than others, there is a reason for it-- they produce 'value'

What other people need to do is produce value and pronto you become envied. If not continue whining, OYO is your case

I agree with you. The Nigerian society values doctors more than engineers. If there is no light everybody knows whose fault it is. Everybody blames the engineer not minding his constraints.
It is not so in medicine. If a patient dies it is not their fault but the will of God. Can you see the difference?
If there is no light, we blame NEPA!

without engineering and technology, medical profession is as good as a dead corpse; who made the tetescope, the test tubes, the thermometer, the BP apparatus, the equipments you use to carry out diagnosis and operationshuh

Its just that Nigeria is a messed nation with zero engineering innovation and contribution, because in more advanced nations, some engineering courses get more respect and pay than medical practitioners like docs.

Have you heard of biomedical engineeringhuh Robotics, etchuh

With the new 5G internet network now, you can perform any medical operation from even another continent without being there physically, who made it possiblehuh Engineering and technology!!!

For your info, research is on going to bring new innovation into medical practice that will create artificial doctors using AI and other high tech engineering and technology innovations, and if this breaks through, lots of doctors will be rendered jobless by engineering and technology.

All these macho amd superior formings by doctors happen mostly in Nigeria and 3rd world nations.

Mind you scientific breakthroughs sometimes take decades or centuries.

Bill Gate's IQ is not higher than (say) Newton's because one makes Computer programmes and one observed apples. Breakthroughs take concerted effort. Years and years of little efforts by different people-- a light bulb here, a capacitor here, a teacher here, a calculator here, a book there... until you get that "magnificent breakthrough'' you want to see.

Every scientific breakthrough rides on the wings of several unknown others before it.

all of una talking rubbish dont know what it means stydying abroad. should education that is already stressful in its own ramification add additional stress that can be done away with? in Nigeria you can settle, you can cut corners with the system abroad you cant. if the total mark to pass an exam is 6, you are expected to get a minimum of 4 before you can pass. anything before is FAIL. i mean look at it, a little above 3 in this instance should be a pass right? 3, 3.1 and above but there its not. 4 which is above average. of which to them a 4 is a bad score.

you would be bombarded with assignments and presentations, there is no escaping it that you give it out to someone to do or you copy and paste. you would fail woefully. you are expected to know it. if you dont know it, you would be very terrible with yourself because you cannot escape interactive sessions in class where people may be paired in groups and ideas are thrown around. Abroad, you cannot separate school and normal life. school, learning and studying is normal life till the end of the semester because assignments, papers, group work, presentations keeps you always studying or feeling guilty for not studying or beimg nervous and scared all the time . In Nigeria, the only time people are in full school mode is during exams or tests. infact you can afford to miss lectures and be out of school mode till whenevrr you feel like.

Abroad, your lecturer knows you all in class, knows the weak amd strong ones, the omes to always throw questions at to put them on their toes all the time. You are in class the whole day. basically. sometimes from 8am to 4 or 5pm with 15 mims break at every hour then a major break by mid day.so you see my friend, the suffering yall are suffering in your "nigerian university" is not education related, rather its just punishment or should i say "an appendage" of the general suffering attached with being and living in nigeria mixed with your education. Dont think they have it easy there. its equally as tough, if not tougher.
Oga, if its tougher abroad, Nigerians will not be breaking records like cabin biscuit!

Also, his attempt to wipe Ronaldo off the earth like he never existed and off the club's legends books would fail because doing that would wipe his own history too. Too bad the snake didn't think about that.
Ronaldo had to be 'babied' in Real-- always had to be made happy.
They had to always say good things about him in the Media even when they didn't really like his personality ( that was the rule).

I recently started a business about two weeks ago and because of my schedule, i hired someone to manage it for me. Can't be at two places at once. So, I hired a lanky teenager that radiates humility and zeal for the job and since the business started, I have not been hitting the desired target. I was getting frustrated already but i kept consoling myself that maybe the word has not yet gone around about the business.

So yesterday, i decided to spend a whole day at the business and lo and behold, I made a lot of money that day. Obviously, the boy was eating my money. I have no problems with my staff taking money out for lunch but this guy was slashing my money by half. Imagine the greed! And I pay him above minimum wage and told him to take Sundays off. But the guy comes to work on Sundays and works till late. AT first, I was happy with his work ethic but now, i realize that this guy is working for his own half.

And he swore with his life that he's not eating my money. The next course of action is to fire him but how can i prevent this embezzlement from going on with the next guy I hire? The nature of business is a game lounge. I'll be grateful for any advice I can get here.

A head should never lord it over people he is responsible for-- that's positional leadership, which is weak. He is supposed to lead. He is on the front-lines, he is the most responsible, the most caring, the most selfless, he sacrifices for those he is responsible for.

Any association where there is no assigned "head" is doomed.

Marriage is not a competition, its a partnership-- 2 people should be more effective than when they are single. 2 people working towards a common goal.

Dated a woman who was earning 5 times what I earned.

She was the kindest, smartest person I know.

Though her sanguine nature sometimes got on my nerves-- as she 'talks a lot,' she has the kindest heart!

Only girl I know who washed my underpants... Wakes me up with food, and constantly sends food to me at work ( even when outside the country).

We were not on the same level, at all, she was smarter than me and way more charismatic!

How did we gel?
I allowed her be herself, I was not intimidated about her successes, and constantly asked her to improve herself.
She had never done well with controlling people as she has an adventurous spirit, so I never sought to do so.

Every sane human being despises control, but wants to be lead. Our cultural evils have a lot centred on control-- Parent, Husband, Pastor, Boss, Politician... All thinking they are the all-in-all.

I say to such people, ' calm the Bleep down!, You are just a human being'

I however don't support abuse and arrogance from a woman and vice versa, if my wife changes to something else, I will leave her, no time for rubbish.

My father controlled my mum and she never realised her true potential-- her charisma, charm and talents all died because my dad was afraid.

I was trained to wash dishes, do house chores and I do so till date.

My woman won't end up looking like a hag due to overwork.

This is not me defending feminism though, a man is the head, he leads but doesn't rule!

Your links didn't open ...

You are the one who is being sentimental.

He shouldn't have tied her up in the car without a doctor's report, nurse in the car in the absence of an ambulance.

This is Nigeria where questions are asked later after one has been beaten to death or near coma.

That guy and his friend could have died for not doing what I suggested .

Yes, mental patients are restrained with ropes. But when transporting them without an ambulance like he did , one has to be careful .

That beating was not warranted and could be prevented.

Mental illness isn't like a life threatening disease that caution couldn't have been exercised for an hour more .

I'm.happy no lives were lost and I wish her recovery from her mental health issues.
Blame the lynching spirit!

No Doctor will right a medical report without seeing the patient, meaning they still would have had to transport her to hospital.
Even if they had, you think the mob in that state would hear. grin

About Ambulance forget that one, attempt calling an ambulance today.

It's the system and it almost ate them, it will still eat innocent people tomorrow

You know what, jungle justice will be meted out to you too today if someone you walk past, says you just stole his manhood-- you will be lynched!

Anyway, like I said, I conceed to you.

Cheers smiley

They could have used the hospital's ambulance .

Or in the absence of one, gotten a nurse, doctor's report or police report .

She was tied up with ropes like an animal .

Anyone seeing her as she was , won't be wrong to assume the worst of them.

I believe we should train our mindsets to think like a 1st class hums being or like sane people in sane climates do.

What you do becomes you eventually.
You are just being sentimental!

You never use sentiments when life is involved. What matters to you is how it looks or what is achieved or averted?

Someone suddenly believes her husband wants to use her for rituals, what will she do next?
What will you do if someone wants to kill you for rituals? Fight with anything possible-- be it a knife or a bottle or gun!

That was the woman's reality.

So you tell me the man found out his wife had relapsed and she started screaming and fighting him with whatever and you expect him to start looking for a police/doctors report?!

So if God forbid , you have a loved one who has a moment like that, you leave them and start looking for a report, so when you come back they have hurt themselves or broken free and killed a neighbour!

In Psychosis, what they experience is as real as what you are looking at right now.

So the man has enough common sense to restrain his wife and you think it's barbaric?!

Even if he called an ambulance (in a working country), first thing he will be told to do is restrain the person, lest a crime be committed. Restrain means restrain, tie down or hold down (if you can) that person!

In the hospital, unco-operative patients are restrained too-- bound hand and foot and or sedated. What matters most is they surviving.

If I were family and I had such a mental illness, your first impulse is to be looking for a report?! Come on! grin

Or you call a hospital and ask for an ambulance, to come and help catch me as I am running away.!

Or you decide to transport me to hospital with unbound hands so I can strangle you on third mainland bridge.

Physical restraint is used anywhere in the world for uncooperative patients, how it looks is not what matters, what is achieved is more important.
