The management of DAAR Communications, owners of African Independent Television (AIT), has been given a 48-hour notice to evacuate a portion of the building where AIT/Raypower FM is housed in Port Harcourt by the Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration of Rivers State.

The notice was required, according to the government, in order to demolish the building and start work on the proposed Government Residential Area (GRA) Phase 5 in Ozuoba, according to a letter dated March 20, 2023, and signed by Mrs. Ebere Dennis Emenike, Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Works.

The leadership of the Labour Party (LP), has announced the dissolution of the executive council of its Rivers State branch with immediate effect ahead of the March 11 governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

A statement signed by the National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure, said the LP officials in Rivers State were axed for gross anti-party activities and corruption in the management of the party’s funds.
