This is balderdash! Hocus pocus and hoi polloi!
First, human physiology does not exist in a vacuum. Every organ, cell, tissue and system grows in response to the genetic buildup of the person.
Whether tall or short, if you engage in sedentary living, riotous clubbing and gluttonous endeavours, your end is predictable.
This is gaslighting and misinformation at its peak.
No one should take what is written seriously.

See, I don't comment on relationship issues on Nairaland but here are a few things for you to know

1. If you forgive a cheating partner- she will do it again and will still blame you
2. A cheating partner will prefer to kill you than get caught.
3. Why you are not yet dead is still a miracle- you still have time to escape with your life
4. Get some balls
5. You should not forget 1 if not 3 will surely happen

6. You are the prize- don;t be a feminized or a weak man!-All you have been displaying shows you have some weakness.

PoliticsRe: APC: Diesel Is Now N625! by Hectarus(m): 1:58pm On Mar 08, 2022
backbencher:
Diesel (and kerosene) has been deregulated since 2013. Nothing to do with Buhari, unless you want him to go into debt paying another subsidy for diesel...then we all will know he is truly and really incompetent.

I know, Buhari is bad, but this has nothing to do with the government. Just normal rise of prices of refined product when the raw material price goes up ($127 as at this am, per barrel)
in 2013, Naira to a dollar was less than 200 now it is 580 to a dollar. That is the major reason for the ballooned price not just the price of crude. When a barrel of crude was $93,the equivalent litre price of diesel was 240 and the exchange rate was 156 to a dollar. So, my friend, the fault is from the government.
CareerRe: Why Don't Mechanical Engineer Graduates Set Up Mechanic Shops by Hectarus(m): 3:46pm On Dec 13, 2021
Awkabigboy:
I mean the mechanics in Nigeria are mainly the informal ones except the car companies which I'm not writing about here. I mean our everyday mechanics are not mechanical engineers by profession , then why are certified mechanical engineers shying away from this lucrative sector to give the people what they indeed require.
Mechanical Engineers are not trained to work as Mechanics!
Mechanical Engineers are not trained to work as Mechanics
Mechanical Engineers are not trained to work as Mechanics!

Know this and know peace bro.

Back to your post.

Mechanical Engineering graduates is more than what you just described. It is synonymous to saying why aren't all Agricultural Engineers tractor drivers or Electrical Engineers Electricians? I understand where youre coming from but look at the AC system that cools you at the mall, Airport lounge and massive halls, that'san example of what a Mechanical engineer can do.
Furthermore, in the design of parts, systems and components of any machinery-automobile or earth moving, the mechanical engineer is well trained to take up the job.
What they are trained for is way more than what you described -In fact design of complex machine systems, process engineering and machine element optimization are some of the roles of the Mechanical Engineers. Engineers are highest up in the chain of engineering profession.

Let me shock you- there are mechanical engineers in the workshop as I speak but the big question is can many people afford their services? I Imagine walking into a garage owned by an Engineer and before he touches your car, he asks you to register it with 50K, cost of diagnosis,-50k and you spend close to 400-500K on what you would spend lesser outside- at a premium service Where will you go next time?
Definitely anywhere else but there

So when we look for cheap things, we shouldn't complain of the quality of service

Any body can go into this without necessarily needing to be a mechanical engineer.

Hi
Thank you for opening this post. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated!

I am barber, just turned 19 few weeks ago and I am supposed to start my uni education tomorrow but that is not the problem.

I earned upwards of 40... Maybe 60k most of which I aid my siblings with. But it's too demanding, like 14 or 15 hours a day everyday. And I have some skill trading forex but I don't do it now.

Right now I want to drop barbing and possibly school to learn blockchain development. My mom will prolly take me for deliverance. Lol.
I am buying a laptop tomorrow. Already dropped social media, right now its just Reddit and NL.

I am greatly worried about my future and tired of living inna trap.

I remember learning about Bitcoin like 7 years ago but couldn't get in till this year.

My parents can give moral advice but I need you on this one. Thanks

There is time for everything bros.
Now you have a skill, an income, an opportunity for education and more youre getting a laptop which many young people of your age cannot boast of.

Here is my advice, maintain your barbing shop and try getting your own place as soon as you get to school. Devote your spare time to learning block chain on the internet and manage your time well between classes, barbing salon and your new skill. You can train interested barbers to assist you.
At the end here is what you will get:
Robust experience in business management and delegation- a key skill in the industry
A degree
Block chain knowledge
A lot of contacts that will surely make you smile in the future.
Unlimited opportunity to take your professional development to any level without any restraint.

Dont't limit yourself at this level.

If after 4 semesters u are having an aggregate of 2, double your effort, u can get 3-3.5
My first question is which system methods does your school adopt? Is is it the Course Unit system or the Pre-requisite system?
If the earlier, you will need to do so many courses in form of electives and score A's in your remaining semesters to have any hope of a 2.4 or 2.3
No don;t get your hopes too high You can still make a 3.0 but for 3.5, you may need to do extra semester and score so well. But i doubt a 3.5 is still possible
In conclusion from now on start hitting straight 5 pointers every semester.

CrimeInsecurity: Villagers Stockpile Arms For Self-Defence by Hectarus(op): 6:24am On Aug 26, 2021
Many communities in North West and North Central are contributing money to buy guns and other weapons to protect themselves against bandits, terrorists and other criminals, Daily Trust reports. Wealthy individuals are also reportedly buying personal guns to protect themselves against aggression or buying weapons for groups.

Villagers in Niger, Zamfara, Kaduna, Plateau and Katsina States are on the lead as many communities in States having security challenges have stockpiled assault rifles to protect themselves. The states have been in the spotlight for many years as most of the stories coming from there are about killings and destructions mostly by sundry criminals.

While the residents could not go to farms or markets for fear of invasion, some of them rarely sleep in their houses at night.Community leaders and residents who spoke to our correspondents said they resorted to self-help because security operatives have not been deployed to protect them or the few deployed are overstretched.

Daily Trust reports that the community leaders were only amplifying the position of their governors who at different times expressed frustration with the level of insecurity in their domains.

As chief security officers in their states, they had said they were helpless when it comes to security matters even as in some cases they “formalise” the activities of vigilantes, hunters and other non-state actors to beef up security.

For instance, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State had severally noted that the use of local vigilantes had helped in addressing the numerous security challenges in his state.
While receiving an award in Owerri in May this year, he had said: “We in Borno State have been experiencing security challenges for over 12 years, however, a lot of transformation is taking place but part of what we are doing to put under control the security situation in the state is to engage the local vigilante; they have taken over the policing of the state to the extent that they had driven the insurgents far away from the state to Sambisa Forest.”

Daily Trust reports that while some communities bought Dane guns, others buy pistols, revolvers, pump-action and in some cases AK-47 rifles.

Many of those who discussed the matter with our reporters said apart from reaching consensus at the community level, they rarely push to get a licence from relevant authorities before buying the arms.

Niger

A source from a community that had suffered from several attacks in Shiroro Local Government told Daily Trust that even though they did not have access to the type of sophisticated weapons being used by bandits, they have already resorted to self-defence using locally made weapons.

“Recently, we killed about 10 bandits when they came to attack us,” he said. Another source from a community in Rafi Local Government, which had also been attacked severally said they did not support arms procurement.

“It was suggested that we should buy arms but our community didn’t support it because if it solves the problem now, it will lead to another problem in the future,” he said.

“If communities have problems with one another in future, they will use it against each other,” he said. An effort to get the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane to speak on the matter proved abortive as of the time of filing the report.

Kaduna, Plateau communities arming selves

In the last three years, some communities bedevilled by insecurity in Kaduna State have found ways of acquiring arms to defend themselves against banditry.

Our correspondent reports that communities in Kaduna’s Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi and Chikun Local Government Areas have narrated how they now assign young men to keep night vigil of their communities against impending attacks by bandits.

A member of a community in Giwa LGA told Daily Trust that, “We know for a long time that government cannot protect us and so, we now protect ourselves and we don’t need any permission from anyone to do so.”

Another villager from Igabi LGA told our correspondent that when they defended their communities sometimes in a shootout with bandits, the bandits then shift their attention to other vulnerable communities who do not have the firepower to defend themselves.

“We have noticed that there is no point running from our homes because they will still come back. So, it is better to stay back and defend our homes even if it will cost us our lives,” he said.

Daily Trust reports that it has been the same in some communities of Plateau State where local blacksmiths make local firearms for communities to defend themselves against attacks.

“Some of us have obtained a licence from the relevant authorities and went ahead and bought pump-action,” a merchant who does not want his name mentioned, said.

“Even AK-47 is not difficult to buy these days because some people import them provided you are ready to pay. This is the only way to protect yourself, your family and your wealth,” he said.

In Zamfara too

Residents of many communities across the fourteen local government areas of Zamfara State are also stockpiling arms to defend themselves against bandits. Checks across the communities in the state revealed that residents have since discarded the idea of relying on federal security operatives to defend them.

For instance, in one emirate, there are communities known for their bravery when it comes to self -defence to the extent that the armed criminals also suffered losses whenever they raided the communities.

“We are stockpiling our arms…Every household or every individual has a gun and if we sense trouble we come out en mass to defend ourselves and this is helping us,” a community leader, who does not want his name mentioned for security reasons, said.

“There was a time they launched a daring attack on this community. We inflicted severe loss on them and they were forced to limp away in defeat,” a resident told our correspondent.

Our correspondent learnt that in some local government headquarters and other relatively bigger towns, some well-to-do individuals are buying arms for vigilantes or Yan Sakai.

The individuals with relatively good financial standings are sponsoring the vigilantes by purchasing locally made arms, torchlights, mackintosh, clubs and machetes for them,” he said.

Our correspondent reports that residents had earlier formed and armed local vigilantes or Yan Sakai but authorities in the state disarmed them during the last botched peace deal with the armed criminals.

Later, when they realised that the armed men were not willing to surrender their arms, the vigilante groups rearmed themselves again vowing that they would never give in to intimidation by criminals.

In Katsina, some residents who spoke to our reporter said though the call by the governor to acquire arms for self-defence could serve as a confidence booster, it was rather late as most of the villages that suffered banditry attacks don’t have the means to acquire arms.

A resident of Batsiri, a town that was attacked recently, said, “Even if we are to acquire arms, we cannot acquire the ones that can match that of the bandits. Some of the weapons they carry we don’t see them even with our security agents,” he said.

Also speaking, a resident of Kurfi, Salisu Sani (not real names), said some well-to-do individuals had acquired top action guns with which they protect themselves in the event of an attack.

“I am a member of our local security committee and I know a lot of what is going on. I can assure you that the situation is similar in most of the affected LGAs such as Batsari, Safana, Danmusa and Jibia because we work in synergy with them through intelligence sharing and I know some of those who have licences to hold a gun for self-protection,” he said.

CrimeRe: What An Armed Robber Said Last Night Shows How We Create Criminals But Blame The by Hectarus(m): 12:02pm On Nov 10, 2020
dumahi:
Last night I heard gunshots in our estate and I thought it was one of the military generals residing here. Some of them usually release rounds of gunshot when they are around probably to scare criminals.

But I was wrong. This morning, the news started spreading. At first, I couldn't believe it when someone told me that a real estate contractor who shares a fence with us was shot by armed robbers and was rushed to a hospital. But, very soon, everyone was saying it. Just now, I heard that he has given up the ghost in the hospital. I just hope it's not true.

They said his wife reported what one of the armed robbers said. "Oga, do you remember me? I am that boy who worked for you at River Park Estate in 2017 that you said I was too stubborn, that you won't pay me because I was poor and yet proud. So, today, since you didn't want me to work, I'm now a thief and nothing can save you from my hands". According to the report, the guy spoke in clean English suggesting that he is probably a graduate or an intelligent high school leaver. It shows how many of us create criminals by the way we insult people for being poor.

Please, we should try to be fair with everyone in spite of our position. When we are fair, at least, God will fight for us when people try to hurt us unjustly. I'm not supporting people becoming criminals though.
What a life!. He has exposed himself, he will be caught and most likely killed too.

That you were treated poorly unfairly or unjustly doesn't mean you should take the life of another man whose family may never be the same after his death.
If so many people open their mouths to say what they've been through in the hands of superiors, the whole of NL would not be enough to take the comments.
So rather than seek revenge because someone treated you badly or cheated you why not channel that energy into something positive and use that drive to attain success.

In my opinion bad behavior and bad response have no excuse. They are choices we make to either become like the devil or create one.
PoliticsBREAKING: OPC Raises The Alarm As Herdsmen ‘invade’ Ibadan Community by Hectarus(op): 2:19pm On Nov 09, 2020
Residents of the Maje, Soka area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital are in panic following the alleged invasion of the area by about 300 suspected herdsmen.

The Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress in Oyo State, Mr Rotimi Olumo, who told our correspondent that residents of the area alerted him, said he went to the area and saw the three luxury buses that brought the suspected herdsmen to the area.

Olumo said the people, who suspected that the herdsmen had a suspicious mission in the area, prevented them from disembarking from the vehicles.

He said he alerted the police and some policemen from Sanyo Police Station were deployed.

The OPC coordinator said he was surprised to see a large number of Fulani people in the area, saying the area is not Sabo – a popular settlement for northerners.

Asked if the passengers came with their cattle, he said no but stated that they were suspected to be herdsmen.

Olumo said, “I received a series of calls this morning that some luxury buses brought some Fulani and Bororo herdsmen numbering about 300 to the area. They came around 07 am today. I went to the place and discovered that all the passengers in the vehicles are Fulani and Bororo.

“There is no Igbo, no Yoruba among them. This made the people suspicious and we have to be vigilant because of the security situation all over the country. We asked them questions but they refused to disclose their destination. So, we invited the police to come and see them.

“Policemen came from Sanyo Police Station and their response was very prompt. They took the buses to their station and parked them there before I left. One of the Fulani people came down to talk with the police but I didn’t know what they discussed. But everybody must be vigilant.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, when contacted by our correspondent did not pick the phone and was yet to respond to the text message sent to him on this matter.
