Why do they need Japan when the world's greediest political bandit, Jagabandit Bola Tinubu, can single-handedly cough out $1 Billion for that? |
fiizznation:Go back to primary school and learn comprehension. Where in this whole article did you see that he referred to APCs manifesto as medieval? Even a mentally slow primary school pupil would clearly see that Prof Utomi referred to BUHARI'S mind and ideas as medieval..... Or has Buhari become a synonym for the APC? |
Okijajuju1:LOL. The way "market forces" have determined the price of diesel, right? Look, if you're buying fuel at N120 now in PH, after deregulation, at some point you will buy it for N400. The downstream sector of the petroleum industry (especially the marketing arm) is not a free market. It is controlled by a cartel. The marketers ARE the cartel. They will conspire to hoard products periodically and raise the prices to astronomical levels. Nigerian government lacks the capacity or even the will to ensure and enforce a truly free market in this sector. A government (DPR) that cannot sanction fuel marketers who sell above the regulated price or who illegally manipulate their fuel pumps to under dispense fuel, how can such a useless government ensure fair practice in a deregulated regime? This will end up as a hot mess for the poor Nigerian. Mark my word. |
Kraspo:Word. |
kobonaire:Your moniker says it all. Kobonaire mentality indeed. It takes a millionaire or billionaire mentality to understand delayed gratification. |
shaybebaby:A MARRIED woman has the right and is "entitled" to seek sexual fulfilment elsewhere? Is that part of the agreement you signed at the marriage registry? Does this load of chap make any sense to you? What happened to filing for divorce if you're not getting the so-called sexual satisfaction from your marriage and think that that is the most important thing you need as a dog constantly in heat? Must you stay in the marriage by force and ridicule your husband by getting fuc.ked like a dog by his own friend... of all people? Goodness. |
And of all people to cheat with, it had to be the man's friend! Such a heartless act that effectively belittles her husband in the eyes of his friend who would be feeling like a bad sharp guy. I'll probably strangle this sort of woman if, God forbids, I am the husband in question. Certain acts of betrayal cut too deep and can bring out the untamed beast in a man. |
Tabh:Is the wife in question a small child that can be taken advantage of by anybody? Was she raped? The fault rests squarely on her shoulders because in matters of seduction, the onus always lies on women to say yes or no. Any normal wife would have immediately reported the so-called friend to her husband at the first sign of trying to woo her. That's what loyalty means. It's annoying when I see people try to absolve women of any responsibility or agency in matters like this. Besides, whose loyalty should be more important and sacrosanct, a friend's loyalty or the loyalty of one's own spouse and life partner? |
I watched it. She gave very pedestrian answers; no depth at all. Masking her cluelessness and vacuity with a fake accent is what she seems to do best. A significant downgrade from Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. |
Another thread by a socially awkward dweeb, written for his fellow dweebs... Coming to Nairaland to offer relationship advice. These things should never ever make the front page. We ain't playing here. |
Interesting indeed. |
Pounds the proud son of Mr. Sterling. The only currency wey get surname.... Pounds STERLING. No be small HARD currency. |
deking:There is no law that criminalises "inability to explain" anything in Nigeria. That's why it is trite in law that the onus of proof is on the accuser. In civilised countries suspects are reminded that they have a right to silence when arrested. If you see me driving a Bugatti tomorrow with loads of cash in the booth and you instigate the EFCC to arrest me merely on suspicion of ill - gotten wealth, I do not owe you (or the EFCC) any gaddem explanation. Take me to court if you have a case against me. It is your duty (or the duty of law enforcement agencies) as the accuser to prove that I acquired my 'suspicious' wealth though illegal activities. If you cannot prove that, then you have no case. I am not obliged to explain anything. I can only explain to the COURTS to exonerate myself if and when a prima facie case has been established against me. The mere possession of a Bugatti and oodles of cash is not in itself and by itself self evidence of criminality. You must prove beyond reasonable doubt that I acquired the Bugatti and cash by commiting a crime. The question you the accuser and my prosecutors must answer is, what crime? That said, there is certainly no way that the EFCC can prove that Udenwa "knew what was going on". We have to start doing things right in this country. In the United States and other advanced countries where we copied our democracy from, you don't just arrest anybody because you suspect him or her of wrongdoing, even if your suspicion is justifiable. If you have no concrete evidence of wrongdoing, then go back and do your homework until you can get concrete proof to secure a conviction. |
odeotito:Don't be ridiculous my friend. Property? Your example is funny and misplaced. An appropriate example would be that an ASSUMED fraudster defrauded his employer and thereafter gifted some of the money to Mrs B, who subsequently used part of the money to pay Mr. C. for some services rendered to her. If the assumed fraudster or Mrs B is arrested and prosecuted tomorrow, can Mr C. be joined as a party to the ensuing law suit? Even though he was not PARTY to the supposed fraud and doesn't know how the historical trajectory or origin of the funds with which he was paid for his legitimate services? Even the dumbest rookie lawyer with a bad stutter can handle this. Look up Uche Secondus case (or the lack thereof) and see the similarities. |
Money was paid to Achike Udenwa by Nenadi Usman in her private capacity. Where Nenadi got the funds she paid to Achike Udenwa is irrelevant, because ONLY Nenadi is answerable for that. How the hell is Udenwa culpable? Was he in public office and abused his position? His case is very similar to that of Uche Secondus. This EFCC's new style is a mirror of the Daura dictator's personal ethos. It's a big joke really. Which reasonable court would convict Udenwa? Based on what charges, really? Is this how to "fight" corruption? |
I really don't understand this country. You don't chase rats when your house is on fire. With the volume of corruption that the APC claims was perpetrated under the last administration (forget the ones currently being perpetrated), from Dasukigate to Airforce and Army probe to Diezani probe to this and that probes, does the EFCC still have time to disturb these small boys hustling to earn a living? How is this even newsworthy? What's the staff strength and resource allocation of the EFCC? Why waste insufficient employee time and agency resources on rubbish when the main work is out there? Wetin concern the average Nigerian and yahoo boys? |
iykedare:Don't mind them. Many Nigerian girls' exaggerated sense of self importance and entitlement is baffling. You'll see one average or even below looking idiot feeling herself, even though she has nothing to offer. |
I'm wondering too. I seem to get acne breakouts on my face (on the same specific spots every time!) the next day after consuming groundnuts. Is there an explanation go for this? Can't be just coincidence. |
Is it one of those estates around Lokogoma? |
989900:If he isnt, then I'd like to know who is, and how you know for sure. |
edbor:If you quote me again, may Amadioha strike you and your descendants to the 10th generation with raving madness. Idiot. |
edbor:Look at this faggggot. Why must the "nearest" barrack be the combat zone? Why don't you issue a "combat challenge" to a kidnapper or highway robber in their Bush den? What's the difference really? How about a neutral ground, with your so-called unarmed soldier in mufti, and NOT inclined to calling his fellow khaki wearing cowards for backup to rescue him when his nose is bloodied by a "bloody" civilian? I remember with much glee how someone I know beat up one of you useless military officers mercilessly somewhere in Abuja a few years ago. The cowardly lieutenant was reaching for his phone like an asthmatic little girl reaches for her inhaler when in crisis..... Trying to call for backup from the barracks against a single unarmed civilian using only his fists... My ghetto lawyer friend punched the phone off the lieutenant's cowardly hands and pushed the biitch into a nearby gutter before making his exit.... Because your emir or senator helped you get enlisted in the armed forces via nepotism and corruption, you think you are Batman. What a worthless pig. I can't tell you how much I despise you bastards. |
edbor:... You are a bloody coward. Idiot. Hiding under the smelly uniform and so-called 'espirit d' corps' to form voltron with 10 armed soldiers against one UNARMED civilian who isn't even constituting a legitimate threat. Is that how to prove that you are 'strong'? You people are hopeless, cowardly bastards. I repeat, get LOST. |
edbor:Get LOST. |
Rubbish. How or why is that news? How and why is the so-called Army General's life more important than the hundreds or thousands of innocent civilian lives wasted by daft members of the Nigerian Army over trivial issues? As far as I am concerned, there's nothing to mourn about when ANY member of the Nigerian Armed Forces is killed - whether in battle with Boko Haram, road accident, or whatever. Bunch of nonsensical idiots. They think it is OK to kill UNARMED and defenceless civilians, but when one of their useless bunch is killed, they want the same civilians to consider it a big deal? Animals. N.B. For those fools who think the useless Nigerian Armed forces are doing me a favour by "protecting" me, I say you must be a born bastard. Legally permit me to carry an AK-47 or any other automatic assault rifle with ammunition and I will protect myself more efficiently than an entire battalion of incompetent Nigerian soldiers can. Bloody cowards. |
Obijulius:Don't mind the idiots. They can only fool themselves and their ignorant zombies. One disdainful look at the article would show that it is a paid image laundering piece. Ministers that have already notched up hundreds of millions and in some cases billions in form of Bloody hypocrites and liars deceiving themselves! |
nawtyme:Classic. Absolute knock out punch. |
skedobo:The last election this man contested and won was the 2011 governorship re-election, when he hadn't started showing his true colours. I can swear by anything that this arrogant bastard cannot win even a councillorship election in today's Nigeria. Only some deluded middle class pretenders think highly of him. He is extremely unpopular among the masses in Lagos and elsewhere. Highly obnoxious and oppressive fool with no iota of human face in any of his policies. Ban this, ban that, increase this, increase that.. . Without any attendant positive result, that's all the fool knows. He never has anything cheery to say, except if it favours the elite. And he is not even as intelligent as you think, otherwise he would have creative/innovative ideas and solutions to problems which he NEVER has. Anytime there is a slight challenge, his default approach is always to pluck the low hanging fruit that would cause unbearable pain to the masses, without even being sure that that would solve the problem. Is that what a creative and intelligent leader does? I don't understand why God keeps favouring some of these wicked souls with so much grace and prosperity. Makes you lose faith and question certain things. |
Seventeen:Very nicely put though. I have to agree with you. Your story sounds really scary though. Did the creepy stalker disappear after you vacated the hostel? Some guys sef. Can't understand why one would want to die ontop someone's matter, when it's not as if you've built up emotions between each other sef. Well, like you rightly said, some people have these disorders. |
devour129:Only simpletons over-simplify issues. If we see this simply as a case of one lunatic that killed a girl because she rejected his advances, then there will be no lessons learnt, and there would be nothing other young ladies can do to prevent being victims in future. Think. These stories are reported so that people can learn vital lessons. It's not simply news that seeks to elicit outrage. The sociological implications are far more important than the mere reportage itself. |
dominique:Then how did he know her house, and even visit her often enough to become familiar with the environment. How did he get her family members' phone numbers and even have the confidence to call them often? Let's think about that. There was possibly some 'leading on' or mixed signals. Some level of familiarity that the girl should not have permitted from the very beginning. Crimes of passion do not happen without a build up of passion. And passion doesn't build up in a vacuum. |
hatbricker:You must be an abokki. Una brain dey always dey 22kb RAM. |
