How true is this? The bank has lots of issues which includes but not limited to very few branches in a state. For example they have just one operational branch in Owerri. When I was in Umuahia I think it was also just one branch.

If they don't think those regions are viable why not close shop and move to other regions?

They wonder why lots of organizations site their HQs in Lagos? Well, LASG though troublesome have a way of making things seamless.

Organizations siting the HQs in Lagos has less to do with supposed state governments(of other states) stressing them. But more with the way Nigeria presently functions. Lagos is basically the head quarter of Nigeria. Almost every sector. No nationwide business would want to site their headquarters elsewhere leaving out the state where 'things are happening'. It has very little to do with the state government. It's the same reason that brings people from virtually every part of Nigeria to Lagos.

The issue of taxation for companies with nationwide branches should be revisited.
All of these banks pay federal taxes, they're still expected to pay state taxes, making it double taxation. I am not a tax expert, but that doesn't seem fair... These are the things that drive the cost of transaction upwards and customers won't understand.

It's also confusing to me. Maybe tax rate should be reduced if it's too high.

Do they have to pay taxes for only the revenue realised from the branches in those states?

Also what is the percentage? Because at the end of the some of these businesses might just close shop

We stood against the Sars people for using thier guns against those they perceive quilty of a crime and this guy was at the forefront of standing against such bullying.


Yet, he made his boys (4 of them) beat up someone for wrong parking and he too was also involved in the attack. Then on top of that he pulled a gun.

If everyone received beating and gunshots for minor offences, none of you will be left in this country.


They broke the law by packing indiscriminately and he decided to break the law by beating up the offender. Isn't this why we protested?

Since Buhari became president, there was an executive order to stop the issuance of firearms license by the police. What I can't remember is if the previously issued licenses were also revoked or became invalid after expiration.

I already stated depending on the state.

You cannot shoot at someone for trespassing just because they walked into your yard. You have to give a notice or a warning. Basically you have to tell them to leave that they're trespassing when they refuse to do so, then can things be different. You don't just shoot at someone simply because you think they're trespassing, no state allows that. There has to be a notice or a warning.

You might want to read about the recent case of a Louisiana couple that brought out their guns when protesters approached their estate. Only for them to be arrested, guns seized and they've been charged. Remember they didn't fire any shot and they legally owned those guns.

Guns are illegal in Nigeria,

Also, am not absolving the attendees of their wrongful parking but pointing a gun at them and firing a shot for wrongful parking is an offense in almost every country of the world.

In Nigeria sef since 2014 or so, it's been illegal to own any type of gun, it used to be legal to own a shotgun before it was revoked by Buhari. I aslo read he pulled a pistol. Pistols were always illegal.

Are they really fastracking it? It's actually a very slow case. The murder was committed over 3 years ago.

Moreover, even if the woman is acquitted today, their daughter still won't forgive her when she grows up to learn that her mother killed her father while he's sleeping over jealousy.

Either way, the daughter's emotions and life are already affected so let the law have its way as it should for all and sundry.
