EducationEdo Invites 1,300 Teachers To Defend Certificates by HenryQuest(op): 5:56am On Aug 07, 2013
Edo State Government has invited 1,300 primary school teachers with irregularities in their education certificates and age records to appear before a verification committee to defend themselves.

This was made known during a meeting of the state Govenor, Adams Oshiomhole with the leadership of the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) led by Mr Emmanuel Ademokun and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) led by Mr Patrick Ikosimi.

The governor, who said the exercise was not to witch-hunt anybody, however, insisted that it would not be business as usual and that those who had become too old to teach would have to go.

Oshiomhole said: “it is not my wish to preside over dismissals, first, it is not cheap.  Secondly, I have a responsibility to keep Edo going and ensure that our children are in good hands of teachers, who are not senile and also still strong to stand and competent to teach.

“If the facts reveal that there are teachers in the classrooms who do not have the requisite qualification, you cannot insist that they remain in the system.

“The good news is that those who are not too old, who are capable of being trained will remain. If we find that some are deficient and it is possible for them to benefit from training, we will give them training, what is not acceptable is to say it is business as usual,” he noted.

The governor argued “we can mismanage everything in our country, if you mismanage education, you are killing our tomorrow, our collective future.  The roads we are building, we won’t have brains to look over them.  In the absence of brains, we won’t have growth and development.

“I have asked the Ministry of Education to invite those category of teachers, whose number is about 1,300, who, from the records appear to have started their primary school before they were born to come and speak to the fact because we are not assuming that those documents are iron-cast.”

He said the primary school teachers would be paid their  salary, which was withheld while they embarked on strike, having agreed to cover the lost ground.

Recall that the governor had, at a Town Hall meeting on education in the state on July 31 said an audit carried out by the state Information and Communications Technology unit showed that 789 teachers out of 1,379 obtained their Primary School Leaving Certificates before the age of 8 or 9.

He said at the meeting that “some of the records show that there were a few who were particularly gifted and they finished primary school before they were born.

“We found that of all our Primary School Teachers, only 1,287 representing 9% out of 14,484 teachers have proper and accurate records in our system.”

91% have various forms of discrepancies in their records.

Oshiomhole said “about 1,379 teachers representing 11.5% claim that they obtained their Primary School Certificates after they had been employed as teachers.  In fact, some obtained their Primary School Certificates not more than two years ago, from the school in which they were employed as teachers.”

PoliticsLagos Stands Still As Fashola Buries Dad (photos) by HenryQuest(op): 5:48am On Aug 07, 2013
Lagos State literally stood still yesterday as the state Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola buried his father amid funfare. The remains of Pa Ademola Fashola was conveyed in a wine Mercedes Benz R 350 from his residence, No 31, Ladipo Labinjo Street in Surulere to the Lagos Central Mosque where Muslim prayer was offered for the repose of his soul.

Alhaji Akinola Garba, Chief Imam of Lagos Central Mosque, who called on Nigerians to be God fearing and have love for their fellow men, led the prayers.

Pa Fashola was laid to rest at the famous Vaults and Gardens, located in Ikoyi area of Lagos at 4 pm.

The governor, who donned a white Kaftan, performed the dust-to-dust rite with other members of the family.

Governor Fashola, who spoke after the internment, said his father lived a fulfilled life, saying he would be missed for his friendship and kindness.

“I will like to say thank you very much to everyone who has rallied round the family from yesterday even before I came back from Saudi Arabia.

“I thank all Nigerians from Mr. President who called persistently until he got to me. He sent his representative here today and that is the Minister of Sports. My brother governors, Imams, everybody, I thank you very much. Our gratitude is deep and immense and we cannot fully express it.

“As for my father, for all of us his children, first and foremost, he was our best friend. So, that is what we would miss really. He was a loving friend who allowed us to be the best we could be. He guided us and encouraged us to succeed.

“I think, if there is any person who did not have any problem, it was my father. He just got on with life; he did not recriminate. In every position he found himself, good, comfortable, difficult, painful, he just got on. I learnt many things from him.

“ I hope I can be as rounded in integrity as he was. He was humble in his attitude to life, humble in life. He died in the month of Ramadan, he died in the Night of Majesty,” Fashola said.

The governor said his father was a contented man who lived a life free of worries, adding that the family was glad he died in the holy month of Ramadan and prayed to God to grant him peaceful repose.

Dignitaries that witnessed the burial ceremony included the Sports Minister, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, who represented the president; Governors Kayode Fayemi and Ibikunle Amosun as well as former governor of Cross Rivers State, Mr. Donald Duke, the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Access Bank Managing Director, Aigboje Aig-Imaukuede; Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye and Mrs. Laoye Tomori, Osun State deputy governor.

Others were business magnate, Molade Okoya-Thomas, former Lagos State governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande and former head of the Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan.

PoliticsDrunk Policeman Kills One In Lagos by HenryQuest(op): 5:35am On Aug 07, 2013
Three gun-shot victims rushed to the Accident and Emergency Ward of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, on Monday night are in stable condition, while the fourth person died on arrival, Daily Sun learnt yesteray.

The victims, three men and a pregnant woman, were allegedly shot by one Corporal Mohammed Abubakar from MOPOL 17, Akure, Ondo State at Diamond Estate, Festac Town, following a disagreement over an unconfirmed matter. It was gathered that the four victims were allegedly shot in a fast food joint by the corporal who was suspected to be drunk at the time of the incident.

Eyewitnesses said the disagreement and flaring-up of tempers occurred that night at the fast food joint where noodles is the main delicacy. The angry corporal opened fire on the victims and fled.  The policeman who is not attached to the Lagos Police Command, was said to be on an unofficial visit to a company in Diamond Estate.

Meanwhile, when our reporter visited LUTH, the three surviving victims were being attended to by doctors who assured  that they will make it. The consultants regretted the death of one of the victims, blaming his demise on the site of the bullet wound and the time of arrival of the patients to the hospital.

A consultant, who spoke to Daily Sun on condition of anonymity, disclosed that of the three surviving patients, the two men will go for surgery because of the nature of wounds they sustained from the gunshot and also to retrieve bullets and pellets from their bodies.

“The pregnant woman who appears to be a bit more lucky, will not need surgery, she will undergo intensive and general care and be discharged. One of the men was shot in the eye, ophatalmologists are working hard to ensure the wound does not degenerate, he will be operated soon.

“The second man was shot in the thigh, he will also undergo surgery, apart from the damage done on the site of the wound, there are indications that bullet pellets lodged in the muscles must be retrieved,” he said.

Confirming the incident, LUTH’s spokesperson, Mrs Hope Nwawolo, said the three victims are in stable condition and are responding to treatment. “The hospital has drafted a team of experts to ensure that they are well taken care of medically”, she said.

The state Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Umar Manko, confirmed that a police corporal from MOPOL 17, Akure, Ondo State was responsible for the shooting. “The corporal is not from the Lagos State Police Command. He is from MOPOL 17, Akure. He was attached to a company in Festac Town, but I wonder what a mobile policeman from Akure is doing in Lagos.

The CP said he has asked the Area Commander for Festac area, Mr Dan Okoro, to contact his Squadron Commander to explain what the policeman from his unit was doing in that company at that time. Manko disclosed the force has declared manhunt for the corporal who took to his heels after committing the crime.

Another eyewitness said that the corporal went to the fast food vendor to eat noddles when a quarrel broke out between him and other customers. The source said in the process, he fired sporadically and took to his heels. “The policeman would have been lynched by a mob, but they were afraid to go after him as he was fully armed,” the eyewitness said.

PoliticsGEJs Post On Facebook Over Positivities Under His Administration by HenryQuest(op): 4:24pm On Aug 01, 2013
Even in these challenging times we must encourage the good news narrative to thrive so as to drown out the unacceptable negatives in the polity. Just a few developments: The first is that MTN Nigeria limited has appointed a Nigerian, Mr. Michael Ikpoki, as its first Nigerian CEO. This appointment follows others in critical sectors and confirms to me that efforts by the Federal Government to build the capacity of the Nigerian knowledge worker and make Nigeria a regional and continental hub for excellence in business and service delivery through policy and reforms like the the Local Content Act are beginning to yield fruit. I commend MTN Nigeria limited for this appointment.

The second occurrence is the celebration by the city of Awka, in Anambra state of three weeks of uninterrupted public power supply and counting. I personally wish Nigeria had achieved this milestone decades ago, but nevertheless we are making steady progress. More cities will soon be able to have such celebrations because the Roadmap to Power Sector Reforms is having the desired effects with almost all of Nigeria's electricity Distribution companies (Discos) and Generating companies (Gencos) now in private hands as I promised on the 26th of August 2010 in Lagos when I launched the Power Roadmap. My friends on facebook, in a few years from now many will not remember the agony and anger caused by absence of electricity in our homes just as many do not now remember the long queues in front of NITEL awaiting to take or make a call.

And finally, I am most delighted to learn like the average Nigerian, that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has approved the registration of the All Progressive Congress (APC). In 2010, when I nominated outstanding men and women into INEC, I wanted citizens completely removed from me, with a consistent and verifiable history of independent activism to lead the electoral body so that it could be truly independent and free and be seen by the public to be truly free from government influence. I commend INEC for their efforts so far and urge that the commission continues to be guided by patriotic considerations in its decisions.

My dear friends on facebook, my commitment to building strong institutions so as to help sustain and strengthen our democracy remains unshakable. It is true that our press is acknowledged to be the freest in Africa and one of the freest in the world. It is true that Nigeria has been recognized as being the foremost recipient for Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, in Africa as well as poised to have Africa's largest Gross Domestic Product, GDP, in the next few years which are indications that our economy is growing. It is true that reforms in Agriculture, Petroleum, Aviation, Works, Finance, Transport, and other sectors have positive impact on our economy. Dear friends, I will not rest until all these reforms and good news have direct impact on the lives of our people at the grass roots level. GEJ
Christianity EtcTraditional Vs Religious Marriage, Which Is More Important? by HenryQuest(op): 4:13pm On Aug 01, 2013
This question is one that is expected to be greeted with diverse opinions. There has been this confusion over the most significant form of marriage. To some, especially strong religious adherents, religious form is the most important and should be performed first whereas to some others, the traditional form is the most important. In my own opinion, I strongly believe that when issues such as marriage comes up, tradition of the people takes fore front. Although many religious groups strongly admonish for members to marry according to their religious order, I still believe that the traditional aspect supercedes the religious. Your opinion really counts. Let's hear from you.

CrimeGrandmother Sells Baby For N.2m In Jos by HenryQuest(op): 9:43am On Aug 01, 2013
An eight-month-old baby, Chiamaka Obinna, who was allegedly sold by her grandmother for N200,000 and taken from Jos to Onitsha, has been found about one week later and re-united with her mother.

It was gathered that the baby’s grandmother (names withheld), who lived at Rukuba Road by Grafitti Hotel in Jos had on July 19, this year, sent her daughter, who is the mother of the baby on an errand and sent away her other children apparently to pave way for her to dispose of the baby.

Thereafter, some women came to her house and she allegedly gave the baby to them. Unknown to her, some of the neighbours saw her remove the baby from her back and handed her over to the strangers.

When the mother of the baby who gave her name as Blessing Godspower, returned and asked of her baby, her mother feigned ignorance of her whereabouts, saying she must have been taken away by her other children.  But when the grandmother’s other children returned and Chiamaka was not  with them, Blessing raised the alarm.

This attracted the neighbours, who informed that they saw her mother handing over the baby to some people. She denied the claim and the matter was reported to the police.

However, during interrogation,  the suspect allegedly confessed selling the baby to one Eucharia, who had in turn, taken the baby to Awka in Anambra State and sold it to one  Rita for N330,000.

Rita in turn, sold the baby to one Grace for N500,000. The grandmother was said to have told her interrogators that she was yet to receive her share of the illicit deal before the bubble burst.

The state police commissioner in Plateau State, Mr Chris Olakpe said the baby was recovered at Awka on July 24, 2013 through the intelligence of detectives of the command.

He said that upon interrogation, the suspect stated that she sold the baby because her daughter was not taking proper care of her and that she did it with her consent.

But the baby’s mother denied knowledge of the intention to sell her baby, saying as a mother, there was no way she would put up her baby for sale.

PoliticsFalse Witnesses Were Sponsored Against Me –al-mustapha by HenryQuest(op): 6:35am On Jul 29, 2013
Former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to late Gen Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al- Mustapha, said he has set an achievable target to bring Nigerian youths under one umbrella to restore peace and foster unity that had eluded the country, as part of his mission to propel development.

The recently-freed former CSO, made the disclosure when a group from the Gbaramatu Kingdom of Izon extraction, Oporoza House, paid him a solidarity visit in Abuja at the weekend. He promised to unite the youths in the 19 northern states for an epic peace summit of Nigerian youths in Abuja, to catalyse speedy growth and development in Nigeria.

Responding to appeals from the leader of the group, Chief Timi Ogiriba and founder of Odua People Congress (OPC), Dr Frederick Fasheun, to tackle Boko Haram insurgency, at the occasion, which coincided with his birthday celebration, Al-Mustapha disclosed that he was undertaking a mission to cement a bond among the Northern and the Southern Nigerian youths.

“I want to send a personal request through you. I want you to know that in few weeks or month to come, we would need your help to call upon our brothers in the South-South, South-East and South-West for the youths there to join hands with their brothers in the North, think together and define a common course for Nigeria to follow.

“I cannot go deep with other issues I had wanted to respond to because I’m still a soldier. I must say that the Northern youths in the shortest time possible from now, will surely come together to speak to themselves, to their parents, political leadership, the younger ones, the intellectual class for assistance and support. By His grace, the entire 19 Northern states would have truly cemented youths to face one common direction.

“I will then call upon you to prepare the minds of the youths from other zones to come to Abuja alongside their brothers in the North to discuss, as an entity and force, to fight a common cause that will better Nigeria and bring peace and unity to speed up growth and development in our land.

“I have this as a mission before me and I hope the intellectuals, activists, the committed and the rich will not lean backward. This is the time to step forward and lead the youths to have a sound footing in supporting Nigeria on the positive part for peace, security and development. I want everybody to begin to work for the mega meeting of the Nigerian youths later in Abuja,” he told the visitors.

Speaking further, he said: “Time and events in the history of Nigeria have shown so much unity in terms of comradeship among our great grand parents from the South-South, South-East, South-West and the North. The political alignment and realignment particularly in the late 1940s till date, time and time again, speaks for itself.

“If we are honest to ourselves as true promising children that have something to uphold, protect and defend, we have to define a chat in sustaining that true friendship, so that the souls of our great grand fathers, the forefathers of Nigeria will be at peace, knowing that they have promising children promoting progress, peace and unity in our country. ”http://sunnewsonline.com/new/national/false-witnesses-were-sponsored-against-me-al-mustapha/

Foreign Affairs119-yr-old Johanna Mazibuko Is World's Oldest Person, Living In South Africa by HenryQuest(op): 4:57am On Jul 27, 2013
At 119 years old Johanna Mazibuko, who lives in small town south-west of Johannesburg, could be the world's oldest person.

Ms Mazibuko was born in 1894, according to her identity papers, and has outlived five of her seven children.

"God gave my life in abundance, plus a bonus. I am very old now," she told South Africa's Sowetan newspaper.

According to Guinness World Records, the oldest living person is Misao Okawa, from Japan, who is 115.

Ms Mazibuko shares her house in Klerksdorp, which is about 160km (100 miles) south-west of Johannesburg, with her 77-year-old son, Tseko Mazibuko, who is also a pensioner.

According to the Sowetan, Ms Mazibuko prides herself on still being able to make her bed every morning.

"I'm doing alright," she said.

Her ID book, issued in 1986, shows her date of birth as 11 May 1894, the Sowetan reports.

South Africa's home affairs ministry has not confirmed the authenticity of Ms Mazibuko's identity documents, but the AFP news agency says it has seen a copy of them.

Ms Mazibuko, the oldest of 10 siblings, reportedly cooks, dresses herself, does the laundry and watches television.

"She is able to move on her own but cannot stand for a long time. She gets dizzy," her son told the Sowetan.

Ms Mazibuko has lived through British colonialism, apartheid and the era of democracy led by Nelson Mandela, who was elected South Africa's president in 1994.

The oldest person recorded in history was Jeanne Calment from France who died 4 August 1997 aged 122.

PoliticsWe’ll Wipe Out Boko Haram, Says Army by HenryQuest(op): 4:47am On Jul 27, 2013
The Army said yesterday that the death of 15 soldiers killed by members of the Boko Haram would not deter it from crushing the terrorist group. It also declared its willingness and capability of defeating all terrorist groups which are hampering Nigeria’s peace and stability.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-General Onyeabor Azubuike Ihejirika, who disclosed this in Abuja yesterday at the burial of the soldiers, said they died in their zeal and gallantry efforts to ensure that terrorism and insurgency are defeated so that our country can enjoy the much desired peace.

The Army chief, while commiserating with the bereaved families, said their death was not just a monumental loss to their relations, the Armed Forces, security agencies, but to the entire country and Africa where they fought and died for peace to reign. He said the death of the soldiers would further strengthen the military to wipe out terrorism.

He prayed God to grant the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the great loss, while promising that the Army will assist them and ensure they get all the entitlements as soon as possible.

Also speaking at the burial which took place at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Admiral Ola Saa’d, said the decision to make the ceremony public, was to warn the insurgents and other terrorist groups who have been causing trouble and destabilising the peace of the country that the military would not fold its arms and allow dissidents have their way.

He said: “We’re holding a public burial ceremony. By this ceremony, we are sending a warning signal to terrorists, insurgents and those who are in the habit of fomenting trouble to destabilize the country that the Nigerian Armed Forces is willing and capable of defending the territorial integrity of the nation”.

In his address, President Goodluck Jonathan, who was represented by Vice President Namadi Sambo, while commiserating with the officers and soldiers, pledged his administration’s resolve to improve soldiers’ welfare and strengthen their operational capabilities to conquer Nigeria’s security challenges.

He urged them to be strong at this time of their grief and take solace in the fact that they were winning the war against terrorism.

He said “rather than despair and lose focus, I urge you to strategise to defeat the enemies”. Speaking on behalf of the bereaved families, Pastor Iliya Joshua Hamadu, called on the military to investigate the remote causes of the death of their relatives because as he put it, “their death remains a mystery to their families.”

PoliticsMan Drowns While Evading Police Arrest In Delta by HenryQuest(op): 4:38am On Jul 27, 2013
A yet-to-be-identified middle-aged man has drowned while allegedly evading police arrest during a raid on an Indian hemp smoking joint in Ashaka, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the police, acting on a tip-off that smokers converged on the spot to indulge in the unwholesome act, consequently swooped on them.

But on sighting the police, the alleged smokers whose number could not be ascertained, dispersed to avoid being arrested. Sources told Daily Sun that policemen gave the suspects a hot chase and while closing-in on the middle-aged man, he allegedly jumped into the river and drowned, apparently due to lack of ability to swim. The situation, however, caused a stir in the area as a mob of about 200 persons stormed Ashaka Police Station, throwing stones at the building and policemen on duty.

The mob action allegedly led to the destruction of windows and the charge room while the rear glasses of patrol vehicles of Ashaka and Aboh police divisions parked at the premises were shattered. It took combined efforts of Dragon 24, 25 and 26 patrol teams in synergy with military officials from Agip Oil Company to bring the chaotic situation under control.

Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Mr Lucky Uyabeme, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP),who confirmed the incident in Asaba, stated that, “one Emeka and other principal suspects have been arrested while manhunt for the fleeing suspects is on.” According to him, the command would not “tolerate attack on police facilities for any reason.

Raiding of criminal hideouts is a normal police action aimed at checkmating criminals. Similar raids were recently carried out behind Abraka and cattle markets in Asaba and other divisions.”

Uyabeme further confirmed the arrest of two persons including Udwin and Eto both males of Etiagbodo village in Olomoro clan for unlawful possession of arms while riding a cargo motorcycle.

He said one locally made single barrel gun with four cartridges, one cutlass, two torch lights, one helmet and the cargo motorcycle with registration number QH 398 LEH were recovered from the suspects.

A Cambridge University educated research scientist is so desperate to live the life of a wheelchair-bound person she is prepared to pay a doctor help her become disabled. She wears leg braces and uses a wheelchair, even though her legs are healthy. Chloe spends most of her time in a wheelchair, but has to get out for various household tasks and walk down the steps to her car. Since childhood, Chloe Jennings-White has made several attempts at injuring herself so she can finally climb into her own wheelchair. In 2010 she even found a doctor overseas willing to help her become disabled by cutting her sciatic and femoral nerves, but she could not afford the £16,000 costs.

'I might never be able to afford it, but I know, truly and deeply, I won't regret it if I ever can,' she said
Chloe, 58, from Salt Lake City, Utah, suffers from a rare condition called Body Integrity Identity Disorder, or BIID. Sufferers do not accept one of their own limb or limbs and seek to amputate them or become paraplegic.

Some experts believe it is caused by a neurological fault, in which the brain's mapping system cannot see a certain body part. The Cambridge graduate believes both of her legs do not belong to her and dreams of being paralysed from the waist down.

'Something in my brain tells me my legs are not supposed to work,' she said. 'Having any sensation in them just feels wrong.'

For years she bandaged herself secretly, but now lives openly with her condition despite facing intolerance, insults, and sometimes online threats.Chloe first realised she was different at the age of four, after visiting her Aunt Olive, who was using leg braces after a bike accident.
'I wanted them too,' she said. 'I wondered why I wasn't born needing them and felt something was wrong with me because I didn't have them.'

At the age of nine, Chloe even took action and pedalled her bike off a four-foot high acting stage on Hampstead Heath, north London, landing on her neck.

'I only wanted to stop my legs working but could have broken my neck or died,' she added.

From then on, Chloe lived out her fantasy in secret, pretending to be disabled when alone, playing risky sports and climbing trees in the hope of hurting her legs.

Now, as an adult, Chloe enjoys the excitement of downhill skiing and the possibility she might fall and suffer serious leg fractures.

'I ski extremely fast, and aim for the most dangerous runs .'Doing any activity that brings a chance of me becoming paraplegic gives me a sense of relief from the anxiety caused by the BIID.'My friends and family can get a little worried about me skiing, as they know I ski very aggressively and they know that in the back of my mind I actually want to get paralysed.' I can't afford to convert my home for disabled access so I just use the chair as much as I can,' she said.

She fantasises about having a car crash without hurting anyone else just so she can damage her own legs.
'Any time when I'm driving I sort of conjure up accident scenarios in my mind where I will become paraplegic,' she admitted.

RomanceTen Reasons Why Women Cheat by HenryQuest(op): 4:06am On Jul 24, 2013
Find below ten of the reasons while speaking with friends and family, and even via comments on a facebook post!!!

10. Women Cheat Because They are Human

Okay so of course the debate became more about whether women cheat more than men and we couldn’t come to a conclusion. But, we did agree that either party could cheat because they are human and make mistakes. Being a woman doesn’t come with an anti-cheating chip…

9. Women Cheat Because They are Bored

With time on the hands or even with a table full of projects, boredom can set in. Craving something interesting or different can lead to a partner that strays.

8. Women Cheat to Revenge!

‘Been cheated on; will cheat’ is similar to ‘Been hurt Will hurt’ mantra some people hold. Anger or hurt can lead people down a revenge path!

7. Women Cheat Because Something is Missing.

It might be something that used to be there or was never there and then you meet someone who brings it.

6. Women Cheat When They Get What They Want

Let me explain! Sometimes you know what it is you want exactly. You may even be dating or married to the man of your dreams. And then one day you breathe and realise you have what you want so…what next?!

Panic Central is Next! It can lead to some questionable decisions.

(Ps, remember carrie in ‘sex and the city’? What did she do after getting Mr Big?)

5. Women Cheat Because They also Give in to Temptation.

I always laugh when some of my male friends talk about how they can’t resist temptation and that’s why men can’t be monogamous. I ask about women and they say, of course women can be. Truth is, the average girl stays monogamous because she chooses to and sticks to that. Just like guys, girls get tempted.

It’s that colleague at work that sometimes does push ups when you walk by, or the helpful neighbour you bump into in the mornings or the friend you’ve always known who now suddenly becomes single, flirty, and possibly sexy…

4. Women Cheat to Pay the Bills

As controversial as this may come across, some women make the decision to cheat in order to get ahead in some way, or for financial reasons like paying the bill, or ‘paying’. Anyone remember how Forest Gump got admitted into school again?

3. Women Cheat Because They Like Adventure

Danger! Doing something you shouldn’t be doing! Maybe you’ll get caught, but that’s what makes it even more irresistible! Planning your schedule, meeting up in strange places, looking over your shoulder!!! Woohoo! Your best spy has nothing on a woman who’s cheating (or for that matter, who suspects you’re cheating).

PoliticsPatience Jonathan's Mother Dies In Crash? by HenryQuest(op): 5:47am On Jul 23, 2013
THERE was anxiety in Port Harcourt on Monday as news of the death of Mrs. Iwari-Oba, the mother of the wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience,  spread in the Rivers State capital.

The mother of Mrs. Jonathan was said to have been involved in a ghastly motor accident along Elele Road in Rivers State.

It was gathered that the woman, who is from Okrika Local Government Area, was on her way to Bayelsa State when the accident happened.

Unconfirmed report indicated that her corpse was taken to Kpaiyama Mortuary by a team of policemen and a member representing Ogu Bolo State Constituency, Mr. Evans Bipi, who is a relative to the deceased.

Though, the police and the Federal Road Safety Commission in the state could not confirm the incident, an aide to Bipi said the First Lady's mother died in a road accident, which occurred at about 4pm.

Bipi's aide, Mr. Fred Itobo, told The PUNCH that the President's wife's mother was involved in the accident while she was on her way to Bayelsa State.

"Yes! She was involved in an accident and she died. Her body has been taken to a mortuary. Bipi was among those who took her body to the mortuary," Itobo said.

When contacted, the State Director of FRSC, Dr. Kayode Olagunju, declined comment on the matter, saying, "I cannot say anything on this matter now until I get full details."

Though effort to get reactions from the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Angela Agabe, proved futile, she had already told a journalist on the telephone that she had not been briefed on such crash.

PoliticsWe'll Deal With Boko Haram In 3 Months-jonathan by HenryQuest(op): 10:30pm On Jul 20, 2013
President Goodluck Jonathan has said that in the next three months the problem of Boko Haram insurgency would have been significantly eradicated.
The President, a CNN interview monitored by our correspondent on Friday, said Nigeria’s “security architecture” was not prepared for the problem of terrorism.
He also said the country was not negotiating with Boko Haram contrary to opinions, but simply making attempts to “change their orientation”.

Jonathan said, “We are not negotiating with Boko Haram. It is done all over the world. It is not negotiation. We are not begging.
“Our security architecture was first designed to deal with ordinary criminals but since terror started, we have been building it. I believe if you are to interview me again in three months’ time, you will praise me that this government has tried.
“We are tackling terror from various angles. We must first of all stop them through military intervention, which we have initiated by declaring a state of emergency in three states where these terror attacks are predominant.”

Same-s*x couples will be able to marry from next year after Prime Minister David Cameron pushed the legislation through against the will of dozens of his own Conservative lawmakers.

Members of parliament cheered as they were told the historic bill, pushed through by Prime Minister David Cameron despite opposition within his own party, had passed into law.

SportsOfficial: Man U Rejects Chelsea's Bid For Wayne Rooney. by HenryQuest(op): 6:00pm On Jul 17, 2013
Manchester United have rejected the first official offer from Chelsea for Wayne Rooney, and have told the London side not to bother returning with further offers.

The Blues reportedly made a bid of £10million, and will include either Juan Mata or David Luiz for the England striker but were flatly refused by the Premiership champions.

Certain

Jose Mourinho made his move after Rooney’s camp made it clear that the England midfielder is certain about leaving Old Trafford.

The England striker ripped into Old Trafford bosses on Tuesday night, insisting he was angry and confused over comments by new boss David Moyes that he would play second fiddle to Robin van Persie.

It has been calculated that the amount Chelsea will need to get Rooney is about £80m: £52m in wages and a £28m fee.

Unlikely pair

Moyes insists Rooney is not for sale, but it is increasingly unlikely that the pair will be able to patch up their differences after the forward's latest outburst.

The inclusion of either Luiz or Mata in Chelsea's offer shows how both players face uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge, despite impressing last season.

SportsAndy Murray Wins Wimbledon Title by HenryQuest(op): 5:56pm On Jul 07, 2013
Seventy-seven years of pain were wiped away in just over three hours on Sunday as Andy Murray became the first British man to win the Wimbledon title since 1936 with a stunning 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 victory over world No 1, Novak Djokovic.

As Djokovic's final backhand hit the net and fell back on his own side, Murray dropped his racket in disbelief before celebrating in front of his support box.

The 26-year-old Scot dominated the first set, recovered from 4–1 down in the second and 4–2 down in the third to win his second grand slam title, having beaten the Serb at the US Open last September but lost to him in the final of the Australian Open in January.

On a sultry day with temperatures approaching 30C Murray played smart, courageous and seemingly nerveless tennis to go one better than 12 months ago, when he was beaten by Roger Federer.

Djokovic went into the final as the slight favourite but Murray had won their only previous meeting on grass, in the semi-finals of the Olympics last summer. When the first rally of the match lasted 20 shots, it seemed as if the match would be another epic battle but in the first set Djokovic made a number of uncharacteristic errors on his groundstrokes to allow Murray to settle.

The crowd inside Centre Court were roaring everything the world No 2 did and, though he dropped serve immediately after breaking in the third game, Murray lifted his game to break for 4-3. The next game was crucial as Murray saved three break points to consolidate the break and, after Djokovic held, Murray served out for the set with ease.

Djokovic was trying to wind himself up at the start of the second set and his greater aggression was rewarded with the break in the fourth game as he raced to a 4-1 lead. With the sun glaring down, Murray put on a hat and suddenly hit back, taking advantage of a Djokovic double fault to break and then saved two break points to level at 4-4. At 5-5 Murray ramped up the pressure and broke before serving out for a two-sets lead.

When he broke in the opening game of the third and led 2-0, 0-30 on the Djokovic serve, he seemed moments away from victory. But, as he has done so many times, the Serb rallied in adversity, winning four straight games to lead 4-2, helped by some brilliant drop shots.

But Murray was not done and after breaking back for 4-3 he repeated the feat two games later, thanks to two brilliant running forehand passes.

Serving for the title, he led 40-0 but Djokovic saved them all. The Serb forced two break points but Murray saved them and then on his fourth Championship point the Scot clinched victory when Djokovic netted a backhand.
