FamilyRe: Relationship Dilemma by herald9: 1:12pm On Jul 04
Namaster:
Your sister is 31-year old and DESPERATE.
She's been WAITING for a man to call her OWN for nearly a DECADE.

Plus, she's clearly one of those people born with a built-in NGO software—ALWAYS on the lookout for a project to FIX.

Add that to being CHURCHY and you have a HORRIBLE decision maker like your sister.

The "brother" is banking on the CHURCHINESS of your sister to perpetrate his SCHEME.

His declarations of becoming a "Pastor" is also a RUSE.
With that frame perfectly established from the get-go, he can use BIBLICAL platitudes like being the "head of the family" and "wives submitting to their husbands" to SCAM your sister.

She will make the money.
And be FORCED to let the SCAMMER decide how it's spent.

Your sister is about to learn a very HARSH lesson.
By the time she's done with her education, she'd have become a Single Mother of THREE at 40.

Unfortunately, there is NOTHING you can do.
Women love FORBIDDEN love.

Telling her she's making a TERRIBLE mistake will just HARDEN her resolve.
Plus, it's going to make it more DIFFICULT for her to approach you for HELP when the man INEVITABLY starts showing her PEPPER.

Also, logic will NOT work with her.
Let her LEARN.

It's only MADNESS (and DESPERATION) that'd drive a Master's Degree Holder to be UNEQUALLY YOKED with a 35+ person with ONLY Primary 6 certificate and a VAGUE forward-looking statement of becoming a Pastor.

MADNESS!
I'm quoting this to to inform everyone reading that this is no joke. Everything described here happened to a relative. The man died recently and the his family is giving my relative serious troubles while she's struggling to cater for two growing kids all alone now.

The man never had a good job and was always at home or trying to open his own church and failing.

It's this same desperation that made my well-educated relative settle with this man.

The woman should rather die alone than set herself up for such misery.

So investing in nukes and missiles is for self defense by supplying Hamas, Hezbollah, etc nukes and missiles to defend themselves against the occurrence of October 7th right?

USA is being careful as a reasonable country not to allow these terrorists use World Cup tournament to penetrate into her soils, nothing political interference therein!
The problem with you Nigerians is that you don't read!

Do you know what brought about those resistance groups?

Read, man. Read!

Stop feeding only on western propaganda. It's not good for your health.
FoodRe: How Much Shege Does Semo Show You? by herald9: 5:15pm On May 26
This is how I prepare mine to be smooth and not too soft.

I add groundnut oil to the water I'm boiling. The water shouldn't be much.

Add the Semo to a bowl, also add some water and stir until smooth, as if you're making custard.

Once the water is boiling properly, add the Semo and turn. Keep adding dry Semo to the right texture you want.

Now the oil we added earlier ensures the Semo doesn't stick to the pan and it's smooth too.

Try and lemme know how it goes.

Every since I replace garri with Semo, I've never looked back.

Then, you must be a foolish Yoruba. Because, average Yoruba man is well informed. And average Yoruba man is well details about information.
An average Yoruba, know about existence of different kingdom even before arrival of colonialism.

You're not a Yoruba man, if you think you are? Then, you need to ask some questions about yourself.
You're bleeping wrong, man.

The person you quoted understands the reality of things. Go out and touch grass, bro.

I was seeing this well-educated Yoruba girl. Heck, she even studied Pharmacy. But this girl argued with me that Akwa Ibom is Igbo even when I told her otherwise.

Till today she can't believe I neither speak nor understand Igbo.

FamilyRe: Why Do Nigerians Have These Kinds Of Names? by herald9: 4:02pm On Dec 01, 2023
Saw this post and I recalled an incident when I was teaching Computer science in Kogi state during my NYSC placement.

Told the class rep to write names of noise makers. He did and handed the list to me afterwards.

As I was reeling out the names for punishment, I stumbled upon a certain all-English names and I impulsively knew he was from the south, and specifically Akwa Ibom.

"Are you from Akwa Ibom?" I queried when he shuffled forward to receive his punishment.

"Yes." He responded.

I shook my head.

Akwa Ibom people are notorious for onomastic anglicization (😂). I could have been a victim save that my grandpa was highly learned and he usually rebelled against the assimilation of some western practices. Guess I got some of my rebellious attitude from him.

But I'm glad he did. Today, I'm most happy to flash my indigenous surname like a privilege badge, and will ensure I carry my people's culture forward - starting from the name.

RomanceRe: I'm Worried, She Does This Every Night by herald9: 6:44am On Jun 01, 2023
SultanOfAbia:
I began to get close with a girl I'm dating for months. She started spending night in my house recently.
This is the 4th time I'm spending night with her and I keep noticing something strange about her
Due to the fact that I am a night crawler work late till around 2am

I noticed that the smallest sound wakes this girl up.
She can be in deep sleep snoring, if you just drop pen for ground. This girl will wake up.
She can be sleeping long hours if I move chair, just small sound. This girl will wake up
The sound of slippers moving is enough to make this girl wake up from deep sleep.

Any small sound this girl will wake up
I opened a can of malt, the sound woke this girl up. She will wake up look around and go back to sleep.

Is this a sign of trauma??
I feel like she doesn't sleep at all.. it's weird how alert she is during deep sleep.

I'm even thinking of dumping her
It's scary that she can easily wake up if pin drop for floor. Any small sound she will just wake up.

Is this normal?
Simply hold her tight, hug, cuddle, pat her on the back and send her back to sleep.

That gives her the assurance and sense of being protected.

You can even look her in the eye, smile and peck her on the forehead and whisper, "Go back to sleep, hun, I'm here".

Naija men ain't romantic at all!
RomanceRe: Why Are Nairalanders Not Getting Married To Themselves by herald9: 3:25pm On Apr 21, 2023
IyaebeTheGreat:
A lot of people have met on other social media platforms and eventually got married but it's a different game here on nairaland, why? Though it's common knowledge that we don't have much marriageable men on this forum(the few marriageable ones are already married) but we have loads of wonderful marriageable women here but it's obvious the guys here on this forum are not marriage material standard. Seun will share part of the blame on judgement day for contributing to the rise of unmarried singles who are now against the sacred institution called marriage. You allowed some group of men that call themselves redpillers to constantly mislead young men against marriage in your forum and not doing anything, they even have a thread for this evil act. I wonder how seun is going to respond to God on this on judgement day. Sirjamesjnr I still have my eyes on you and drfunmisticqueen, you can break this nairaland antimarriage yoke.
The same you that is going around emptying your bile duct all over the politics section in the name of hating Peter Obi is the same person asking this question?

Like Tasllesty1 asked, if you were you will you marry you?

The sight of your username brings this sort of repulsive sensation on me. I'm often always expecting you to spill hatred per post.

I can never entertain any sort of feeling for a username like yours. Not in this lifetime!

That's going to be great!
At least we know there will be no horse trading and all the violence and killings occasioned by political thuggery. That will be a win win for Nigerians as charlatans like Obi will be put where they belong to.
So you're elated by the idea of an autocratic government? Then let's put democracy to bed. As you confess, Africa isn't ready for true democratic process. We're just wasting time, resources and people's lives for this faux electoral exercise.

For that idea to work it means that every political party, except APC, will have to boycott the elections

The problem with that is that APC will always find a way to get one or two of the parties to participate through monetary inducements
True. I never thought of this.

But they'll get tired in the long run.

Remember the story of Megamind?
PoliticsWhat If All Opposition Parties Withdraw From Future Electoral Processes? by herald9(op):
Nigeria recently conducted it's presidential elections in February, 2023 and it was marred by massive rigging, voters suppression, disenfranchisement, threat and large-scale violence. Nevertheless, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has gone ahead to announce and issued a certificate of return to the alleged winner, Sen. Bola Tinubu.

In the ensuing appeal by Labor Party, INEC has flagrantly disobeyed the court order by blatantly refusing LP access to inspect electoral materials to consolidate the exhibits for their appeal.

My question is: What If All Opposition Parties Withdraw from Future Electoral Processes In Protest?

The idea of opposition political parties withdrawing from the electoral process due to foul play by the electoral commission is not a new phenomenon. In fact, it has happened in many countries around the world.

Should political parties take this route since we have completely lost faith in the independence and neutrality of INEC?
RomanceRe: I Lose Interest In Girls Easily. What Could Be The Problem? by herald9:
I used to be like you until I finally found my spec.

I love intelligent and hardworking ladies, girls who are knowledgeable and can hold a conversation.

To overcome this, you need to draft out the qualities and characteristics you like in a girl.

Then go find that person.

In the real world, you can never meet your match, so make adjustments along the way and be ready to accommodate slight differences and grow together.

Most importantly, find someone that's a goal chaser, and be a goal chaser yourself and you'll derive so much fun in your relationship besides coitus.

Y'all spilling putrid in this thread should STFU!

APC nor PDP can never win Akwa Ibom at this time.

Besides the spillover effects from Akpabio's vote in some Northern AKS LGAs, the rest of Akwa Ibom are obidient.

PoliticsRe: Obi Loses In Akwa Ibom, Comes Distant Third Behind Tinubu And Atiku by herald9:
As an Akwa Ibomite, I'm most saddened by what's going on in Akwa Ibom.

I flew from Lagos to PH to vote Obi, only for my people to turn around and do a different thing.

I hate the money politics and the silly practice of party loyalty going on in that state.

Because some people are loyal to Godswill Akpabio, they massively voted for APC even at the detriment of the entire state.

And this is the state where the governor is spending billions to building a state worship center, only for the dead-brained indigenes to be voting for an MM ticket.

Well, let's await the results from the Ibibio part of Akwa Ibom. We're more educated and enlightened.

I still don't understand why this man chose to align with a tribal bigot, a religious extremist like Peter pandora and his Nzogbu Nzogbu Supporters.

It is very glaring they are of two different world. Datti is a gentle, fragile hearted man. The others; cold-hearted set of people who dont give a damn if tribes turn against each other, religion turn against each other, just to achieve their unrealistic political ambition

I met Datti-Ahmed few weeks back. Very gentle and respectful. He understand and he knows politics come and go but humanity remain. He knows they aint going to win but he is still adamant in building bridges, making key alliances, making friends with this little political exposure from the present spotlight. Same can't be said in respect to the other people he aligned with, those ones don't even care about tomorrow. Naughty children of hate without home training.

They are so use to defeat and been on the losing side, that they are basking in its glory with delight.
I have been anonymously going through your posts on Nairaland. Despite appearing to be smart and well-lettered, your soul is darkened by extreme misanthropy for the Igbo tribe, and vengeance.

What did the Igbos ever do to you?

Your posts usually fill me with so much dread and trepidation, imagining what you're capable of undertaking if you had the means.

Is it a crime for a citizen to seek an elective position in his own country?

You claim to be a strong believer in unity, but you're strongly opposed to the only person that could reconcile the eastern tribe of Nigeria who are still battling with the memories of the Civil War and also fighting marginalisation in their own country.

Mr Ihordspy, I sincerely believe that you're better than this. Take a look at yourself in the mirror and come to terms with whom you truly are.

It'll be a disservice to the universe if you let this hatred consume you and all these brilliance go to waste.

Please, am I normal?
I used to easily lose interest in women too.
In fact, my friends started warning all the ladies giving me greenlights about my misgivings.

What worked for me was that I did a self evaluation to uncover what sort of ladies I'm attracted to.

I discovered that I loved the intelligent ones; those that want to be independent, own their thoughts and their lives and are within the tech ecosystem.

I was lucky enough to find one and fell in love for the first time in my life.

Though it's never been a smooth ride, but I always have something to be proud of.

While feigning romance, you can playfully fold a paper around her finger and repeat many times so she won't suspect any play.

Keep a mark where both ends of the paper meets, and use that to gauge the ring size when you go shopping.

Congratulations, boss!
