Y'all spilling putrid in this thread should STFU!

APC nor PDP can never win Akwa Ibom at this time.

Besides the spillover effects from Akpabio's vote in some Northern AKS LGAs, the rest of Akwa Ibom are obidient.

As an Akwa Ibomite, I'm most saddened by what's going on in Akwa Ibom.

I flew from Lagos to PH to vote Obi, only for my people to turn around and do a different thing.

I hate the money politics and the silly practice of party loyalty going on in that state.

Because some people are loyal to Godswill Akpabio, they massively voted for APC even at the detriment of the entire state.

And this is the state where the governor is spending billions to building a state worship center, only for the dead-brained indigenes to be voting for an MM ticket.

Well, let's await the results from the Ibibio part of Akwa Ibom. We're more educated and enlightened.

I still don't understand why this man chose to align with a tribal bigot, a religious extremist like Peter pandora and his Nzogbu Nzogbu Supporters.

It is very glaring they are of two different world. Datti is a gentle, fragile hearted man. The others; cold-hearted set of people who dont give a damn if tribes turn against each other, religion turn against each other, just to achieve their unrealistic political ambition

I met Datti-Ahmed few weeks back. Very gentle and respectful. He understand and he knows politics come and go but humanity remain. He knows they aint going to win but he is still adamant in building bridges, making key alliances, making friends with this little political exposure from the present spotlight. Same can't be said in respect to the other people he aligned with, those ones don't even care about tomorrow. Naughty children of hate without home training.

They are so use to defeat and been on the losing side, that they are basking in its glory with delight.
I have been anonymously going through your posts on Nairaland. Despite appearing to be smart and well-lettered, your soul is darkened by extreme misanthropy for the Igbo tribe, and vengeance.

What did the Igbos ever do to you?

Your posts usually fill me with so much dread and trepidation, imagining what you're capable of undertaking if you had the means.

Is it a crime for a citizen to seek an elective position in his own country?

You claim to be a strong believer in unity, but you're strongly opposed to the only person that could reconcile the eastern tribe of Nigeria who are still battling with the memories of the Civil War and also fighting marginalisation in their own country.

Mr Ihordspy, I sincerely believe that you're better than this. Take a look at yourself in the mirror and come to terms with whom you truly are.

It'll be a disservice to the universe if you let this hatred consume you and all these brilliance go to waste.

Romance › Re: I Lose Interest When A Lady Tells Me 'I Love You', Am I Normal? by herald9: 12:51pm On Aug 15, 2022

From my actions and how we talk you wount assume we're not in relationship but soon I hear things like I love you, I miss you all that I start lossing interest till we part ways then bounce back, some wount.

Please, am I normal?
I used to easily lose interest in women too.
In fact, my friends started warning all the ladies giving me greenlights about my misgivings.

What worked for me was that I did a self evaluation to uncover what sort of ladies I'm attracted to.

I discovered that I loved the intelligent ones; those that want to be independent, own their thoughts and their lives and are within the tech ecosystem.

I was lucky enough to find one and fell in love for the first time in my life.

Though it's never been a smooth ride, but I always have something to be proud of.

This weirdo actually fell in love !

While feigning romance, you can playfully fold a paper around her finger and repeat many times so she won't suspect any play.

Keep a mark where both ends of the paper meets, and use that to gauge the ring size when you go shopping.

Congratulations, boss!

Romance › Re: What My New Girlfriend Does Everyday by herald9: 6:24am On May 15, 2022
TheScientist:
I met a lady about a month ago. She's about 25years old. She lives with her parents. Everything about her seems to be perfect except one thing... SHE DOESN'T ACCEPT THINGS FROM ME. She is currently unemployed. Each time i offer her money or gifts, she politely turn down the offer. About 2 weeks ago, i gave her 8k to make her hair. She collected the money, removed #500 and dropped the remaining #7500 on my table. She made the hair. I have no idea how she did it.
Yesterday, i offered her 30k to support her upcoming birthday but she rejected the offer. I'm worried because she buys gifts for me everyday(mostly fruits) and if i reject it, she gets angry. Please, does anyone understand what is going on here? Is she up to something? Got so many questions on my mind. How is she getting the money she uses to buy fruits for me? Has anyone had similar experience before? Please, how did it end?
Mine does this too.

I literally got angry and scolded her for always refusing help even when she needed one.

Told her straight up that by going through the stress of winning her heart, it came with the pledge of making her feel as comfortable as possible.

That I'm her best friend and making her happy is my happiness too.
Career › Re: Digital Marketing Or Data Analysis, Which Part Should I Choose? by herald9: 6:45pm On Apr 13, 2022
Hey bro, digital marketing is very broad and you need knowledge of marketing, data analysis and Web development in order to succeed in this profession.

Because of the sheer breadth of digital marketing, it might take long for you to learn and become proficient in time to start working, except you want to specialise in areas such as content writing, copywriting, social media management, analytics, PPC, SEO, PR, etc.

Moreover, companies these days rarely hire people without experiences, so you might need to find and enrol in an internship, especially in a digital marketing agency in order to practice and grow faster in the industry.

As for data analysis, go for it if you have a background in the numerical field such as mathematics and statistics, otherwise, you might need a portfolio to prove your mettle. Without that, you can't stand a chance in the labour market.

In addendum, data analytics does not stand on its own. You need to tie it to a particular industry in order to know where to focus your efforts. For instance, you can choose data analysis for business or medical data analysis, etc.

Finally, if you want to be very successful in digital marketing, you need to be able to analyse data in order to make informed decisions.

I am a digital marketer and also a data analyst.
Pets › Re: Why Is My Dog Like This? She Has Abandoned Me by herald9: 12:47pm On Jan 15, 2022
We once had a dog that was treated badly and often underfed prior to my moving in.

The dog was always trying to run away at the least opportunity.

What I did to re-orient him was to show him that he was loved.

I usually feed him. Unleash him to walk around the compound. Stroke him at every chance I get. Play with him by running around the compound together. Take him for a walk every morning.

Within months we developed a tight bond such that this dog that used to run away from everyone could now confidently stroll and lie beside me.

He even grew guts to challenge my cousins that used to bully him. They were shocked.

Dogs are sentient, sapient beings. They need love and attention. I pity those cannabilistic humans that derive joy in consuming their meat.

Had a chance I'll lock all dog eaters all up!
Romance › Re: Ladies Dating Quiet Men, Share Your Experiences by herald9: 10:32pm On Aug 03, 2021
LadyRosa:
Lol...
As I stubborn reach na so so quiet men dey date me. So I've had great experience from past relationships and currently another quiet one dey my side. What I noticed with them

They are highly intelligent, don't talk much, don't mingle much, social function almost zero.
Them sabi cook oooo! Few clothes, expensive or not, they are well arranged, ironed. No scatter scatter. So once I'm looking for something they help me look for it because I go scatter their wardrobe and leave it like that! No time! angry

They are calculated and secretive. Don't gossip at all. Going into their house and coming out seems like sneeking around, so people don't know if they are in or out.

Don't like loud music. Those who go to club rarely dance, them go dey laugh who dey dance undecided. When they decide to party, the subsequent days makes them really dull and want to 'rest'. Even during outings after few laughs and a drink with plenty water, next na to pick their car keys or flag down a taxi , time to go angry angry angry

Don't wear loud bright dresses. Dull dresses are their Craze.

Observe rather than talk. When they talk everyone is silent.

No toasting, they were too shy to say their mind. They will look and make few remarks, then look again. Relationship usually start from me taking the lead by keeping them talking with questions. "Do you like me?" that's enough to make them blush with relief and acceptance. undecided undecided

Spend thrifts. Show offs is foolishness to them. Not really into social media, few pics, most times like to be anonymous. Also, they can be nasty in secret. angry

Gadget lovers. Will spend money on the latest Playstation.Dont mind playing against computer for hours.
Simplicity. Eating out is not their need, so if they must, mostly snacks rather than cooked food. Neat freeks! undecided
Forgives easily but with serious warning.
Don't like the silent treatment during quarrel. They will appear calm at first but, Na lie grin grin. Just pretend you no longer find them attractive or appealing and all hell breaks loose.
Not too romantic but very supportive and reasonable. Calm in the face of overwhelming trouble. Why others are panicky, they keep clear head, and think of solving issues diplomatically.
The ones who cheats do it well. You may never notice because they will never pick the other woman's frantic calls, if them too disturb they block them temporarily till further _drilling notice.Them no just like wahala from nags.
Have soft spot for women and can easily be manipulated to give out cash to them even without sleeping with them. Even an ex will continue to reap them off angry angry Even if they are no longer interested.
Don't get angry easily, but when they get you'd be sorry. Really really sorry and disappointed in yourself. They will lay all your 4ck ups and corner your defense on every angle grin grin

But them still dey talk o, but na inside house. Abuse them and meet a brick wall, no reaction. As my mouth sharp reach, I don't use bad words on them like I do on the street,They hardly use insults to drive home their point once an argument be like say e won bring insult, they ignore and find their way out. There are people that their level of maturity controls what you say.
JESUS CHRIST!!!

EVERYTHING HITS HOME!

Education › Do African Parents Expect Too Much From Their Children? by herald9(op): 8:32pm On Dec 04, 2018
Before people take the bold steps to tie the nuptial knot, they have subconsciously put their signature against an unwritten law that makes them accountable to the physical and material well-being of the offspring they intend to bring into the world.

Of course, couples initiate the reproductive process without the consent of the offspring, who otherwise would have had no business with existence prior to the exchange of genes between the two reproductive parties. Therefore, the onus is on this productive parents to assent to their comfort by all means possible.

Such processes begin from the first day there's a disentanglement of the umbilical cord, to the period where the now grown up man is ready to paddle away from the safety of his parents coffers; armed with the amounts of knowledge he could afford, as well as skills and experience gathered over the years - formally and informally.

And this is also the point where expectations are rife.

In the western setting, parents and the government jointly provide all the conditions required for their youths to excel. For instance, a child could grow up to take after the family business; an apartment and a ride is already in place for him. Or he might choose to pursue a career or further his studies, in that whatever choices he takes, the parents and society has his back, that is why many western youths can drop out of school to pursue their choice careers, no matter how intangible it seems. The result is skill diversity and a wide range of jobs, leading to the all round development of the society.

Moreover, the parents are financially independent. They do not expect much financial assistance from their children or or expect their children to wrought a spontaneous positive change in their income profile, because they have been living comfortably by themselves. Therefore, leaving the children to concentrate on their immediate responsibilities.

The scenario above paints a society where there is no pressure on the young person to either make a breakthrough in life, or be labelled a failure.

The African society on the other hand is a farcry from this. The African child is like a capital investment, he is expected to blossom over time and rain prosperity on the parents. His sole purpose of existence is to cater for his parents, same way he was catered for, as if he's paying back the favour and privilege of being brought into existence. So the African child eventually becomes the parent of his parents. This is even worse when you're the first born.

The consequences of this is a society full of pressurised youths, who continually live with the fear of failing to meet the expectations of their parents, and society at large. This is also one of the reasons many vices are thriving, because after all, if we no make money, wetin we gain?

We need to re-evaluate our motives for bringing a life into the world. Our children should be companions, not long term investments, with the crooked expectations of future profit returns. That is the worst form of selfishness.

Even lower animals understand better.

Good day.

Christianity Etc › Re: A Perfect World Or Heaven. Not Really As Good As You Think by herald9: 3:56pm On Jul 02, 2018
johnydon22:
When we look at the things wrong with this world or more correctly, things we think are wrong we this world, we can't help but try to imagine, create our own perfect world.

Paradise
Valhala
Heaven
Earthly paradise

These are all our creations or maybe our attempt to conceptualize what a perfect world would be like.
No suffering, No pain, no sadness, no want, no tears, no cold, no anger, aggression, fear and so forth
These are negative experiences we come across every day on earth. We somehow create an utopia that would do a way with them.

Imagine a perfect world.

Try as much as possible to imagine such a world.

there is no death.
no worries
no wants
no tears
no sadness.

Do they sound good?
Or do you understand that such a world is inherently flawed?

We may bask in the euphoria of a heavenly bliss or an earthly paradise where nothing negative ever resides.

But is this really a good thing?

Opposing concepts derive meaning from one another.

Hot and cold
up and down
sadness and joy
tears and laugher

This is from whence the chinese philosophy derived the concept of Yin and Yang. Evil and good are forces that cannot do without the other. Without yin, Yang is useless and meaningless, vise versa, the only way they make sense is together.

If there is no up how does the concept of down make any sense?

So does a world where there are no suffering, pain, tears, needs, struggles make any sense?

No. it doesn't.

On earth, we are certain that we are going to die one day, that realizations makes the time we have precious to us.
We understand sadness and thus we appreciate joy
We understand pain, hence laughter is something we crave
We know suffering, success becomes soothing
We know lose, we appreciate opportunities.
We have wants and needs, we try as much as possible to achieve them therefore deriving a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Take the negative sides of life away, nothing makes sense anymore.

You cannot understand happiness if there is no sadness.
the concept of success shatters if failure is out of the picture.

So imagine a world without these negative sides, it will be a world devoid of every meaning, devoid of every essence or sense of fulfillment.

Imagine yourself in a perfect world.

Build a perfect world, a paradise or a heaven and put yourself into this world.

And then ask yourself and answer sincerely.

What exactly would i be doing in such a world?

Throw in the idea of forever as the case is for heaven. A billion trillion billion years, you have not even started. That is when you will understand that it is just void.

Imagine a perfect world?

I'd say, we are already in a perfect world.
I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying
"I love you"

I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more
Than I'll never know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Kendrick, yes. Cole, totally no. Some of these rappers just play to the gallery. Cole is a good story teller, but lacks the sophistication of a rapper. No wordplay and punchline skills. Maybe, someone will soon say that Common is better than Ross.
