I am not really a phone freak so i am still stucked with a 3G phone. But during the lockdown period, i started trying to stream live matches and i got a really terrible experience on 3G network.

Right now, i am planning to upgrade to a 4G phone and i hope to get a better experience. For those of you that have been using it, is it worth it? do you still experience lags, buffering and constant disconnection?

Anyway i have used two infinix devices so far and i never had any issues with them till i gave both out. The first one was hot1, bought in 2015, still functions till date. The second was hot 5 sometime in 2017, still fully functional too.

Last week, a colleague in a subsidiary of my company told me to help him look for a fresh graduate as his assistant, I quickly contacted another lady but she wasn't done with service so I remembered this my school friend and recommended her.

Initially, I didn't tell her I work with the said company and that we work within the same building, when she got the job, she told me and thanked me. Surprisingly, we met on Saturday for the first time in 3 years, she said sth about me loosing weight and all, it was a weekend and I was dressed in my casual. She left later without telling me, and hasn't chatted me up since Saturday.

Today, she saw me at work and just acted like she doesn't know me. I'm not a top level personnel in my organisation, I still have people I answer to especially my immediate supervisor who is a female. I was also dressed in my causals since today is a public holiday.

I'm really surprised at her behaviour, is this how we are gonna continue? I'm not interested in dating her but at least she shouldn't be showing all that attitude at this stage. Since Saturday she hasn't sent any message and I haven't too.

I'm even planning on resigning this weekend but I'm really disappointed at her behaviour towards me. It's not like in school I was a big boy with a killer swag, I'm just a simple guy, money never dey to form big boy, she isn't a big gal neither, just a church girl in school, so why is she trying to form on a job I recommended her for?

i went through your profile and i can see you did a review for one xiaomi product called redmi k20. in the thread i can see how you were passionately canvassing for the product while vehemently blasting infinix and other transsion holdings products.

if you are not a marketer of those products, then i wonder what you are. you can pass your message across without necessarily hating and trying to pull down other brands just to achieve your aim. xiaomi, realme, vivo, infinix, tecno etc are all Chinese products so what is the fuss about? i only have respect for brands like samsung, iphone, Nokia, LG, HTC etc.

i have used two of thier device and i didn't have any issue with them. the first one was infinix Hot. bought it in 2015, i also bought hot5 sometime in 2017. both devices are still functioning well although i have given them out and those i gave are still using it. i now use samsung. but planning to get hot 8 as second phone........i believe these guys are xiaomi marketers, because immediately you complain, they are quick to condem infinix or Tecno and quickly recommend xiaomi

Lots of electrical devices have plugs and chargers that come with just two terminals, are you saying the manufacturers don't know what they were doing?

Most of those household devices you see making use of 2 terminals usually have transformers inside for complete isolation..... But putting a transformer in a phone charger will make it bulky, that is why they don't use it.

I'm not saying two terminal chargers are not good, they are more portable but in terms of safety, the 3 terminal ones are better due to the aforementioned reason.

I tried to explain it as simple as possible because of those without engineering background.

The third terminal which is Earth is un-used in the circuitry. It is just to avoid possible reversal as explained. Three terminal wiring are normally used in large devices with metal covering so as to avoid risk of electric shock. And the earth terminal is connected to the metal frame (body of the device). So i know what it means.

A phone charger is even too elementary for me to be dragging words with you who does not have an iota of knowledge on how these things are built and operate.

FYI I have designed and built quite a number of complex projects so I'm not talking abstract. Infact to graduate as an Electrical and Electronics Engineer, it is one of the requirements. And no project supervisor will accept a charger from you because it is too simple.

Now you keep asking whether i know better than them, you are talking trash. If i show you the circuit diagram of this chargers, can you even interpret it? I gave a simple and a little technical explanation of how it works and you that has no knowledge in electronics is questioning me.

What's with phone charging and electrocution these days?! First it was our own video vixen, Kodak, now it's a Thai.




Chargers are supposed to step down DC voltage of 240V to 5V, but it seems these faulty chargers are stepping down the voltage insignificantly to around 110V, high enough to cause an electric shock and burns. Plus, the metallic phone case may also contribute to the shock.




We shouldn't neglect safety advice/precautions, not to ever use high or low tech phones while charging.

Phone chargers step down AC voltage of 240V (depending on the country) to DC voltage of 5V.

Most transformerless design employed in phone chargers nowadays does not completely isolate the mains (240V) from the output (5V) because one of the output terminals is always referenced to one of the mains terminal, which is usually the neutral line but can be accidentally reversed when plugging.

In electronics design, the common terminal is called the ground so one of the output terminal is referenced to the ground. In this case, we make use of the neutral line. But Unfortunately most chargers have just two legs that is plugged to the mains supply. What this means is that if the plug is reversed, The reference point will change and part of the output will be the LIVE line and this can be very lethal if you mistakenly touch the mouth of your charger or any other exposed part.

Engineers have found a way of eliminating this reversal by making use of three terminals.. So the next time you want to get a charger, make sure you get the ones with three terminals, they are the safest. With this type, you can only plug it in one direction..... Don't say it is too big, value your life.

Or you can just follow these general safety tips regardless of the type of charger you are using;

1. Don't use your phone while charging.

2. Never touch the tip of the charger once plugged in

3. Make sure no wire is exposed along the length of the cable.
