Countdollar: Hello everyone.
Congratulations to all who have received AD. I really need your opinions. I have been offered admission at the University of Bochum. I am under Category B, I applied to get AD in August. However, I have successfully completed my enrollment procedure. I have been asked to pay my semester contribution of about €340.
School is scheduled to start next week or thereabout. Should I pay the semester contribution or I should just wait? I have been given 2 weeks to pay and days have elapsed already from the 2 weeks. I really need your advice. If the two weeks elapses without the payment I will loose the admission. This payment ist refundable if you you don't eventually make it to Germany. |

Punkydude: This is for Naija guys who are already in Germany. Please i have a few questions:
1. Please which city is BEST for Africans, in terms of a. Meeting other Africans and getting African foods and living comfortably with little or no racism. b. Comfortable weather similar to what we have here. (me i don't like cold) c. Getting a good side job as a student. d. Very affordable city to MANAGE life. e. At least people speak or understand English.(ie Communicating in English wont be a problem) f. Being a black person is not a crime.
2. I am a graduate of Computer Science but intends to apply for Software Engineering at TUM, i made a 2:1 with a CGPA of 3.9/5.0. Please what are my chances and how difficult is TUM.
3. Which schools are offering courses in Software Engineering.

Basalt: Goodmorning Ladies and Gentlemen. I am Basalt by name and I came to Germany last year(2019) October for my MSc studies with a little amount of Money and a partially borrowed block account from my inlaw (his money and my money). On arrival in Germany, I took only a few courses and got a job outside my city and also got a mini-job. I did all my monthly expenses from my Mini job and used my main job to completely pay back my debt within a few months of arrival.
Now, that's not the discussion at hand. I need advice especially from people who have lived abroad or have many years of experience in life. My visa still counts till 2022 and I can even extend it if I don't finish my studies by then. According to German policy, once you graduate from the University, you will be given 18 months to get a professional job or return back to your country. Returning back to Nigeria is totally out of my plan at least for now because I came from a very poor family without any job connection and I am really enjoying Europe. I plan to buy land or start building a house (I saved millions of naira and will even save more as time goes) but my friend who is also a student here discouraged me against that saying that my root is not yet fixed abroad that I should wait and continue investing in myself and undergoing professional training until I get permanent residency before investing. That I should always keep saving because it is not certain that I will get a professional job after graduation since my course is not in Information Technology which is currently booming in Germany. That even if I don't get a job, I can use the money to migrate to Canada or any other country of my choice. He asked What if you invest the money now and don't get a job after graduation, what will you do after the 18 months of post graduation visa since you don't have any backup from home who will help you out financially.
What do you guys think. I need opinions we came to germany the same year i too i am in the same situation as urs. my course msc Ecology has few job oppotunities in germany.....and i am thinking of what to do too..... but the first step is mastering the language bro.... i thinking of abandoning the course and go IT but is not so easy Have you tought Ausbildung? this reissues that require critical tinking |

tosinhtml: Come off with this mindset, no country survives without immigrants. Who is going to do those jobs citizens don't want to do? Menial jobs, construction, Nursing & even programming jobs, Going to study in Germany shows that you are actually impacting their country with Skill & knowledge, Immigrants work their ass off & also pay 40% or more taxes to their country. We work like rugrats, 60 hours per week for some just to earn a living & pay their taxes.
My point is: They need us as much as we need them. 50/50. You are right. Germany is nothing without Immigrants. It will never stop accepting Immigrants because 50-70 percent of the work force is Immigrants. |

Whitemagic: High priest of the highest order... Great to hear from u and even better to hear you're doing well. I saw a notification that u sent me a pm. Can't even remember what must have transpired last time that required talking in pm. But I'd sure reach out.
Couple questions pls.
1. Any idea of the situation for student visas now? Ease of giving visas I mean. I'm in cat B.
2. What's the job environment like for building construction engineers?
3. You've been paid your B.A back in full? Even after not being able to work the first 7 months, that's awesome and highly motivating. Pls kindly give us tips how you were able to achieve it.
Danke. Danke. Danke. I didn't work 8 months sef but I made sure I spent money only when it becomes absolut necessary... In Supermarkt I never buy any foodstuf/thing above 1Euro... All thanks to ALDI Aber jetzt ist alles vorbei... Gott sei Dank |

hello guys
2weeks ago made it 1 year since my arrival in deutschland.
i give God all the gloryfor all the achievements so far.......i paid back my BA within a year, my studys going well, my german now better, i have worked in more than 20 place..hustle is going well.
i study at FSU jena....what i can say about jena is............it a good town but i will advice you to come here if you have no second choice....mostly you have to go to other cities to hustle like weimar, erfurt etc but it is ok. and when coming to a small city like this try come with BA or when coming with SL then come with enough money oo. ....i dont know what could have happend to me if i had not come with BA....i coudnt work for 7months.......mostly because the visa the nigerian embassy gave me does not carry work permit and i had to wait till the visa expired..this was my case alone though because i was not lucky like other guys who got termin for resident permit earlier....
the last 4-5months have been a very busy one for me because of hutsle and study...no time......but i will always make out time to time to visit here,,,,because here made it possible for me to be in germany.
if you have sent me a PM before....send again i will try to answer as much as i can.....when i am not not busy
vielen dank aufwiedersehen tschuss

fellow: Hi guys,
I need a quick explanation regarding CGPA. I have tried to read through 94 pages of Season 8 and I have seen no specific answer. A friend of mine has a Nigerian CGPA of 2.7 and I have tried to convert this to the German Equivalent but i haven't been successful. Will this grade be enough to get a Masters degree Acceptance?
She's looking to seek admission at
Friedrich Schiller University Jena University of Bremen Hamburg University of Applied Sciences
If the grade is too low for a Masters degree, can she apply for a B.Sc. Top Up? Which year will she start from?
Thank you The grade in german scale is between 2.7 to 2.9. The minimum requirements for most masters courses is 2.5 which is not even enough to get admission into most schools. By the way, it also varies from the requirements for admission in to the course.... You have to check courses website. Her best bet is to look at the baerchelor course |

Delaria: Those with AD will get another Appointment date, I got the mail too... They also said "refrain from sending appointment requests" So there's no rebooking, I just hope they keep to it tho... They are suppose to issue you a new date automatically if that is true. The embassy is always diplomatic when breaking such news to you so that you won't panic or protest. They're are things they consider before giving dates. The bottom line is maybe you have to rebook. Moreover they are clearing the system at month ending. All this are my assumptions based on personal experience with the embassy.... I pray they do as they said. Everything is on standstill now |
