He should start abeg plenty farmers need these equipments on rental basis

Thanks for your response. He's highly interested in doing the business as he is looking for what to invest in once he relocates back to naija after living abroad for over 30 years. But he just wants to make sure he crosses his T's and dots his I's before putting his hard earned life savings in the business. Being that you are based in naija, do you know any risks associated with the business

Agriculture / Farm Equipment Rental Info by hilroy: 6:52am On Sep 20, 2019
Hello Agropreneurs,

I'm a huge follower of this sub-thread, and I must say I have gained a lot of information from all you wonderful guys. I'm presently working on a feasibility studies for farm equipment rental business for a friend based in Canada who is interested in investing in Agricultural sector in Nigeria. After some careful deliberation, he has decided to put some money into Farm equipment rental. For a start, he intends getting farm equipment such as tractors, plough, harrow, seeder and fertiliser spreader. Please I will like any information you can share on how profitable and safe this business is, what is the average rental fee for these farm equipment, what is the ideal location for setting up this kind of business, what are the risks associated with this type of business, what are other things generally required to set up the business apart from the farm equipment, how are these equipment maintained in Nigeria etc. Any relevant information you can share will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Foreign Affairs / Re: Canada Passes Bill To Legalize Recreational Marijuana Use by hilroy: 7:21am On Jun 20, 2018
Is thread like this that makes me giggle at the magnitude of ignorance and cluelessness of Nigerians/nairalanders. Canadians have one of the best welfare program in the world couple with free medicals for their citizens and very high literacy level. They decide to legalize medical marijuana after years of deliberation and research, and some lowlifes in a third world country where majority find it difficult to put something in their belly deem it fit to question their decision. Just so you know, it is almost like a sin for any Canadian to go to bed hungry (unless he or she wants) cos there is food bank everywhere where they give food free of charge. Canadians are very open minded and whether the government legalize it or not, a handful of them already smoke marijuana recreationally, and guess what, they have a very low national homicide rate of 1.68 per 100,000, and one can hardly see mentally deranged person walking freely on the street (I haven't seen one since I've been in the country for almost a decade) unlike in Nigeria where vast majority are mad people walking freely on the street. One ignoramus even have the audacity to say Canada flag has orange marijuana leaf in the middle. Well, the leaf is called maple leaf just in case you don't know "Mr. I'm not that smart". Nigerians and their hypocrisy smh. Please make una keep una advice for the upliftment of Country that has no direction for now. I love Nigeria but we need a massive enlightenment and brain formatting of many of the populace to move forward. God bless the Canadian government for the bold step forward, and may God guide Nigeria to the right direction

Happy birthday to you sir. We deserve the accolades

If you read through Nairaland threads, you will understand why Nigeria is where she is. We have a lot of intellectual handicapped individuals. Every single thread is tribalized or filled with senseless comments. Our youths are massively brain drained and I find it difficult to know why. It is quite pathetic, and with what I'm seeing we have a damn long way to go.

We cannot allow foreign culture to eradicate our culture it's just unacceptable. While Africans in Africa are distancing themselves from their rich and beautiful culture, blacks in diaspora especially slaves descendants are making all efforts to connect to their ancestral culture.
If we Africans want to progress and be counted among successful race in the world, we have to be proud of our history, culture and identity.

hopefulLandlord:

After independence, in order to build a great nation, each country went to work. But in Nigeria, after independence, our people went to pray and fast. So, while we were praying, Malaysia came here and took our palm seedlings and built a great factory of it. While we were praying, Singapore went into investment in technology. While we were praying, India went into ICT. While we were praying, China went to massive industrialization. While we were shouting Allah Alakuba! UAE went into massive infrastructural development. While we were binding and casting Lucifer, Japan went into technological development. While we were speaking in tongues, Denmark went into education of her citizens. While we were mounting big speakers in our places of worship, USA was mounting man on the moon. After our prayers, God, being a wise God decided to reward us according to our labour. Since those that went into industrialization, technology, infrastructural development, ICT, education etc have been rewarded accordingly. It's only wise God rewards us with our efforts in prayers. That's why today, Nigerian pastors are competing in building the biggest churches. That's why there are more prayer houses and worship places than hospitals and schools. That's why people rush to prayer houses for medical and business solutions instead of hospitals. That's why we don't do business proposals before jumping into business since we are going to back it up with prayers. And when it collapse, we blame devil. That's why it's a sin to say anything negative about pastors and imams. That's why our pastors don't consider the opinion of engineers while building and blame devil when building collapse. That's why faith in God replaces building pillars and when it collapse we blame it on Lucifer. That's why our pastors are making sure they plant church branches instead of schools in every streets in Nigeria. That's why we always wait for gods to do that which ability to accomplish we already have in us. That's why we want our teachers to labour on earth and go to heaven for their rewards. Nigeria is a prayer loving, god fearing nation. Religion has taken the place of technology, infrastructure, education and all. When we are traveling, we ignore all the necessary road requirements, servicing of our vehicles and pray. And, once we pray, we can put a half fit vehicle on the road and blame our step mother or mother in law if anything goes wrong. That's why there are more people dying on our roads. Because, we pray and fast and leave everything to God when we have all we need to survive and build a nation....... I hope it made sense to you

Well written brother. This reminds me of the parables of talents in Matthew 25. The funny thing is that God despice lazy and dull people, and the way we practise religions in Nigeria makes us super lazy and intellectually declined.
