Lemme briefly breakdown the history of Lagos for you

The original inhabitants are the Aworis sub group of Yoruba

In 17th century, the Edos led by their prince Olofin came to Lagos

The Nupe from present day Niger state has been in Lagos since 18th century

The Hausas have been in Lagos as far back as 18th century

The returned free slaves known as Saros and Agudas came to Lagos in large number in 19th century

Labanese, Indians, Chinese, Ghanaians and other nationals have been as far back as early 20th century

Igbos on the other hand started trooping to Lagos after independence in 1960.

As you can see, Yorubas do not need Igbos for Lagos to survive. If you Igbos leave, there are many tribes and nationals that will take your position.

I will tell you the reason why. Out of the 3 major tribes in Nigeria, it is only Igbos that discriminate among their fellow brothers. You will never hear a Yoruba man call a Yoruba from Kwara state or Kogi state Kwara Yoruba or Kogi Yoruba. The same with Hausa. Even a big minority group like Ijaw doesn't do so, you will never hear something like Rivers Ijaw or Bayelsa Ijaw. But Igbos call their brothers from Delta state Delta Igbos, even those from Ebonyi are seen as inferior to someone from Anambra for example. Also, during regional government in 1960s, while western region extended development and even introduced free education to minority tribes under them, Igbos did not do the same for minority tribes under them in eastern region. When Bendel (Benin & Delta) under western region decided to form their midwest region from western region in 1963, Yorubas did not hold them back. However, the Igbos discriminated and held back COR (Calabar & Ogoja region) when they pushed for their separate region at the same time
As you can see, It is absolutely not to any minority tribe good to join the Igbos in the fight for secession. Any tribe that mistakenly do so will forever regret such action.
