In footy when a goal is scored at 4.5mins they put the time at the 5th minute. So wengey is in his 14th yr right now.
By the same scummie logic, Manure and Chav are both in their first trophyless season!
abi? huh

Wenger won the league with 26 wins and 12 draws. . . . .I repeat 12 draws!!!!
Mourinho won the title with 29 wins, 8 draws and 1 loss in 2004/5 season.
By all logic, Jose Mourinho's record shytes on Arsenal's unbeaten run.
Hmmmn, you meant by scummie logic grin
let's see.
AW's team are regarded as the 'Invincibles' till this day.

Letz face it. . .He inherited 95% of the players that brought the success. Players like Seaman, Bergkamp, Bould, Keown, Adams, Ian Wright, etc.
He blended Henry/Vieira into the mix and he got lucky!!! Since the departure of Vieira, Arsenal have won nothing.
I would have sworn that he inherited Vieira and Henry also.
How about Kolo Toure,Sol Campbell,Pires,Ljungberg,Lauren,Petit etc?
They were inherited alsohuh huh
Lucky Manager won the league in 03/04 without losing a single match.
Damn,AW should transfer some of that luck to humanity!

Great article there by Simon Bailey

I said earlier and I did a little bit of arithmetic
What if . . . . . . .
we are on 49, we've got 13 matches to go.
13 winnable matches. . . . . (No Chelski, no Manure grin)
39+49=88
The league has been won numerous times with less than 88 points. tongue
and let's hope Manure and the Chavs drop points against the Villas,'Pools,Citehs and Spurs
What happens?
Some folks will come here and still say we won by luck. shocked shocked
The team has no spine
AW should go
Board must be sacked.
Dennilson,Almunia,Clichy,Bendtner are all useless! grin

and it earned us hefty suspensions!
AW has once labelled RVN a cheat!
and what makes you think RVN is better that Dudu+Nichuh

My guy are you suggesting we wait another 17 years come on mate we have to set standards and aim higher the refusal to do that would land you in mediocrity! Our problem in the past was European domination now we are not even good enough for England. This is what happens when you settle for less! UCL qualification is not enough for a great club like Arsenal and should never be
@A-40,
Nope,
I am not suggesting we wait another17 years!
haba!
I just want y'all to Imagine that the same Arsenal once went on a trophy drought for 17 years.
Attacking this team when it's not all done and dusted that we have gone trophyless again, is kinda premature.
I 'll join you at the end of the season in attacking everything Arsenal, if we fail to win anything grin

debosky:
So what? Was that a GOOD THING??

We are supposed to be so ‘grateful’ for even competing and it being ‘only’ 5 years since we won the title? What a defeatist mentality. I guess Chelski fans shouldn’t desire success because their team went 50 years without a title??

No one here is saying we have a birthright to WIN titles – what rankles the most is that there are simple and OBVIOUS steps that can be taken for the club to TRULY compete. There is a place for patience and we’ve been there for FOUR YEARS already – that is more than ENOUGH!!
@Debosky
The 17 years thing was just to show that there have been a longer trophy drought.
I never also indicated that it was a good thing.
I just wondered if we all were arsenal fans then, what would we have done?
debosky:
Gain some perspective – how many times have you seen Arsenal beaten and say – we were at our best but they were too good?? We are NEVER at our best because Wenger consistently REFUSES to make the changes that would give us our best. undecided

What did Wenger do to WIN? He played excellent teams from back to front, but now we have at 2 - 3 passengers in each side, making a mockery of the efforts of the rest of the team. Wenger seems to be more concerned about maintaining ‘stability’ and making 'transfer profit' all the other nonsense than WINNING. You CANNOT operate a sports enterprise without success – that is clearly LACKING now to the point of being ridiculous - when game attendance drops and revenue drops, then what? huh

What bandwagon? After watching THE SAME failings year in year out for over 4 years? After being patient that the ‘project’ would yield fruit yet nothing is seen after 4+ years?? undecided

We have been sold the future for long enough – if we are going to be nearly rans, TELL US WE ARE!! Enough of the rubbish we are almost there, I believe we can win, we have the quality and all the other bullshit we hear weekly. We are NOT almost there because the gaffer REFUSES to do what would take us ALMOST there.

That is the simple conclusion – it is the height of FOOLISHNESS to expect to challenge (Note: not even win!) for the second half (the business end mind you) of the season WITHOUT a striker and WITHOUT a reliable goalkeeper, not to mention the other flaws in the side – and you don’t need a degree in economics to figure that out.

Every year we get sold the future, every year it is FURTHER away. The clubs above us keep trying to get better, even the ones below us, while we just STAGNATE.
Cool down bros
All this antipathy will be justified in May when we finish the season with no siverware
As we speak, we are still mathematically in 2 cup competitions.
We'll know if the 'future' has been postponed once more grin
debosky:
Note: My support of Arsenal FC remains stronger than ever – it will be hypocritical on my part to ignore the blatant failings of the manager all in the name of blind support.

Whenever they take to the field, I’ll support them 100% as long as they wear the Red and White. That will never change.

While the season isn’t ‘over’ – it is only an absolute MIRACLE of Moses proportions that will see the Pharaohs of Chelski and Man Utd drown in the Red Sea, despite they having Chariots (better players and tactics) and we walking on foot (lacking players in crucial areas and deficient tactics) make it to the other side.  grin
now,that's the spirit.
We are the Gooners
and we follow the Arsenal come rain, come shine! cool

Maybe the apt title should have been Chronology of our 'Non league win'
because we won the FA cup in 2005.

Strangely, it's the same Dailymail that had the headline 'Gunners gun to the top' and went on and on with accolades when we beat Bolton 4-2 to top the league!

I would go on the internet to and run down from 1955-2005

If the internet was what it is now at the time Barca had their barren spell, I'm sure it would have been worse for Barca supporters than it is now for us.
@Duduspace
I think you are damn right.
It's the internet age that has brought on all this.
For the records, Arsenal did not win the EPL for 17 years(1971-1989)
I wonder what the fans back then did.
AW is also a victim of his own success.
We went through a whole season unbeaten, so every defeat looks like the club is done and dusted forever! grin
The media too has contributed immensely to all this, with every game analysed and scrutinised and predictions for the next few games made based on one single game! shocked
No one is saying clubs, managers and players shouldn't be criticised,(I do that also) but jumping on a bandwagon without having any inputs is ridiculous!
On the other hand, it's the internet age.
Information gets twisted to suit the period at hand.

even if we win the league this season
I would still not be able to understand the logic in not buying a striker to replace RVP
It can't be about money!
The money is there.
The Prof is stubborn and won't buy for an outrageous price, but come on. . .
you have to NEGOTIATE
All that story about not finding anyone better is rubbish

They have been rather quiet.
