Situation of things around reflect Fashola as the only performing governor. How true is this? Is he really the only performing governors? Are there no other ones performing? |
When Nigeria was 40, they said a full at fourty. Now that we are just a year to fifty what will they say? Well, for your info; Nigeria's retarted growht is as a result of the fusion of crippled minds. Imagine a nation blessed with mineral, human and physical resources wallow in abject poverty - celebrating 49th year independence with strike action in alomost every sector. |
6 days to Nigeria's 49th year independence, let me be the first congratulate her for great years of strike, bad leadership and worse governance. As you step into this new year, may your leaders find the right path to tread |
How will one describe a country celebrating her 49th year independence with strike - hunger strike, justice strike, freedom strike, academic strike, health strike, good governance strike, power strike, oil and gas strike, entertainment strike and many more!!! |
with the present state of things in the country and the mrach towards 49 years of independence - the question we need ask ourselves is; are we really independent? |
Independence Day is fast approaching. Every sector in the country seem to be struggling for survival. The country is going to be 49 on october 1. what can you really say about Nigeria - her past, present and future? Are we where we ought to be? How is the past affecting the present? What possibility does the future hold for the Nigerian Youth? You know a lot and have the potential and passion to write. Then pick up your pen now and write; NIGERIA - her past, present and future. Send it to hollerbhodeh4edu@yahoo.com or osa4thelimitbreakers@yahoo.com. Then you stand the chance of getting your article published on a magazine to be launched on INDEPENDECE DAY. Send in your write up or poem on or before friday 25th sept, 2009. OLABODE EMMANUEL |
NIGERIA @ 49: Come October 1, 2009. This GIANT OF AFRICA will celebrate forty nine years of independence. At present the country is face with different types of crises. The education sector is in decay; the banking sector is not on a good side; Information technology in this country is substandard; unemployment is on rampage; Niger Delta crises has led to rapid drop in oil production and has thus, negatively affected the nation's economy; Boko Haram crisis calls for concern as hundreds of people continually lose their lives; the super eagles seem to have no hope of taking the nation to the 2010 world cup; power sector is in disarray. As we count down to the forty ninth year of Nigeria's independence, the question is: HOW FAR HAVE WE GONE? WHAT HAVE WE ACHIEVED? ARE WE TRULY INDEPENDENT? WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES WE ARE FACING? ARE THERE SOLUTIONS TO THEM? And WHAT IS THE WAY FORWARD? |
i know every one is frustrated. But we all cannot fold our hands. What is the solution? How can we get ourselves out of this mess? Shall we all stay at home doing nothing? Infidelity among youths as at the crux this period. What should the Nigerian youths do at this period? |
Dear ASUU, Suit yourself and let your conscience judge you - if really you are fighting for the interest of the Nigerian youth or have chosen fight to get your selfish desire. It's up to you. Dear FG, Let your will be done. But do not forget the living hen will still lay egg. We shall also get there. But, then you shall bite your fingers because nemesis would have caught up with you. Dear Nigerian Youth, Learn your lessons. Never let your backgroung throw you to the ground. We shall get there because it's a matter of time. What go around, surely comes around. Be patient. But, meanwhile, invest in yourself. Pls, PHEMMOR i'm working on a magazine and the first edition will come out next month. Can you permit me to publish this posts? OLABODE EMMANUEL (check me on facebook0 hollerbhodeh4edu@yahoo.com |
For months now, the education sector has experienced decay as ASSU has refused to throw in the towel while the federal government has portrayed a lackadaisical attitude toward this development. The Federal Government claims to have answered to most of ASSU's request. ASSU on the other hand stands firm that the FG is unfaithful. Despite this feud between two elephants, the grass (students0 are at the looser end. The question is: (1) who is to be blame? ASSU or FG? (2) What is the way out of this mess? Please, send your comments. |

And also, which administration favoured education; Babangida or Obasanjo's. Kindly state reasons for your answers and opinion. |

hi everyone. I am the President of a young NGO; organisation of success achievers. The NGO was founded by 6young boys who saw the need to empower today's youth for a better tommorow. They hold semiars and they even own a newsletter which they are planning to convert to a magzine by March. We recently held a programme at Vetland Senior Grammar School on Wednesday 18th feb 2009. Omo Baba no 1 was the invited guest. He spoke on 'HOW TO AHCIEVE POSITIVE THINGS FROM THE NEGATIVE THINGS OF LIFE' Although the Organisation is so young that it cannot afford to pay any one at present, we believe that great things start small and that ideas are wealth. I really appreciate the fact that there are Nigerians who are interested in changing the life of the Nigerian youth. Any interest and passion filled person can contact me on 08069256914 or mail; hollerbhodehedu@yahoo.com for more info or to book a date. |
Dear Great Nigerians, In this country. We have political leaders who have really made lot of impact to drive the country forward. Amomgst them are former Presidents Ibrahim Babangida and Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo. I'll like us to be sincere. Which administration was the best? Or better still, which administration was the worst? Babangida's or Obasanjo's. Pls, give reasons for your answers. |
Is there really any possibility of scrapping postjamb? Afterall it is an avenue to test the dirty game players through fire in order to know their true worth. Cancelling it will be disastrous. My advice to nairalanders is to prepare and study hard for the post jamb, especially those of us who filled federal universities. Remember, JAMB is now the battle for survival. So the weak ones get trampled underfoot. And postjamb?, it requires going the extra mile, |
Hi nairalanders, Hope you guys are having fun. I recently picked up a book titled; 'UNDERSTANDING THE PURPOSE & POWER OF MEN' by DR. MYLES MUROE. After reading the 1st chapter. What i discovered is that Men have lost their responsibility and focus as a result of the rapid embracal of the Western Culture. He went further by explaining that the there is no more difference in male and female roles and responsibility. He stated that long ago, the man's fixed responsibilty was to provide for and protect the family while the wife's role was to care for the children and the home. Therefore, as a result of this the female highly respects the male because it is believed that he is the breadwinner of the family - He is much valued his wife because of the insecurity he exposes himself to in his quest to fulfil his duty. 'In this developed world of hours the male no longer knows how to relate with the opposite sex'-he wrote. 'Gone are the days when a female enters a hall and the male excuses her. Gone are those days when the male had to pull out the chair for the female to sit in the restaurant. By passed are those days when the male paid the bills. Now, the female believes in her right and abilty to take care of her bills' he further stressed. He went further to state that the responsibility of the male to protect the female has earnestly faded because the female now have her own clothes, furniture, fat bank account, her own house, amongst others.' The question now is where lies the supremacy of the man. The challenge i throwing out to nairalanders is; Should the female be encouraged to have a university education? Maybe if their have a limited level of education their feathers of ego over the role of man will cease. |
hi nairaland guru. God bless u for that message. my mail is; hollerbhodeh4edu@yahoo.com. i'll be xpecting the mail. |
hmm! Well, i think i can remember some crazy things i did in school. during extension classess in JSS3 (when we were going to SS1), i poured hot white rice on ISAAC IRUKWU(he can beat me if we fight) to use him to gba star. i was fond of collecting bags from girls (older than me) to the silence hour fielc, where only girls do star( i do this when i am dared). this made me popular. i do go to town (ikenne, ilishan, shagamu) to play overnight ps2 and x-box. i lived in town with some cultists (God saved me i was not initiated ) I went to lakampaine(a river at ikenne) with my friends when we were supposed to be in class or reading. Well, i got my reward. I failed woofly in my SS1 exams and was asked to repeat. My parents had to transfer me from MAYFLOWER SCHOOL IKENNE because they did not want their only child to go astray. All the same, i learnt alot at MAYFLOWER of which has enabled me to found an organization fashioned to 'empower today's youth for a better tommorow' It is called 0.S.A (Organisation of Success Achievers) Sincerely, i regret venturing into such disastrous act, but still i thank God for redesigning my future. I am now a role model as i had always been. OLABODE EMMNAUEL |
