zendi: Good enough.......far better than no communication at all. Moreso given that many of us, by our jijo practices, may have contributed to the sins they're now atoning for. So lets bear with them.............. But that last paragraph is very funny, and courageous, under the circumstances. The author is actually teasing.......how can we be enjoying services when we're groaning day and night for being disarmed of our hunting cutlasses? The bolded has been my point. Have you noticed a sense of relieve and willingness to wait, inherent in the boldness. Sometimes, business relationships are strenghtened with good communication. |

Godisfaithful: Sir, in my comment i never said Morgan was suspend on that issue. Please re-read my point once again. "...Morgan Capital had been cautioned since July 28th 2016 on Rule 17.16 (b) but they never adhere to it. They see it long coming..." My opinion on the bolded: Morgan Capital was truly cautioned, but they adhered afterwards. I once put in a bid for a stock at pre-market opening and afterwards, i saw i had few naira left in my account(i don't like keeping cash in brokers account) and decided to put in for Total(you know total is pricey, thus if you are buying with few naira, you will be able to bid for few units). I was banned by MC. I called in, had a lengthy talk and it was resolved. Prior to this, I use the platfom to calculate the max or min price for the day. Throw in a price for few units, extract the range for the day, and sunsequently cancel the mandate. Please note, this is done within a minute during pre-trade period and cancelled immediately. Morgan reached out on the above and warned that such things register on the system and makes them prone to sanctions. Did i try to game or influence the system(NO,NO,NO). Can i proof that(nope). So while i agree that there is alot MC needs to do to, to satisfy customers. I know from experience that they made effort on the bolded. |

Primetech: @fcmb finding resistance... @MC customer care line is misbehaving.. @Eterna jetting away.. Not holding brief for MC here, and you have actually done well in trying to reach MC, via the customer care number. I was able to reach MC by phone as i have some cash in my account. I clearly said i understand not being able to trade my shares but can't see why my fund which is supposed to be in a bank account is stuck. The officer explained that they had meeting with the NSE on friday and more regulatory demands came from NSE, which they are quickly working on and that the accounts tied to the NSE trading platform was placed under (can't remember the term now) lock. I asked that we need not call before we get updates on the progress being made at being operational with the NSE again. We need to follow-up till things are resolved. |

OBAGADAFFI: Ha, the truth is finally coming up.
I heard the wife of the late Chairman is insisting on taking over the company her late husband left behind.
What happened to the Board of directors(if any)
All these one man business, are dangerous to do business with. The problem is most Nigerian companies are directly or indirectly "one man companies" Dangcem/flour/sugar, UBA, Zenith, Transcorp, WAPIC, Access etc. |

OBAGADAFFI: Unfortunately you're wrong.
If Technology haven't replaced brokers on the LSE and NYSE how will the technology replaced brokers in Nigeria.
There is nothing like a self driving platform anywhere in the world. Weather it's SAGE, Oracle, I trades, SAP or ERP solutions, you always need qualified personnel to run the system.
This platforms are not as easy as you see them, much of the work are done at the backend by the Brokers.
I thought he said " They are necessary". |

davide470: First of: You need to understand we are in the 21st Century. The era of "on the floor trading" is now becoming archaic. Who goes to the floor again? Majorly "analogue brokers". You definitely won't see the Top firms on the Floor of the Exchange trading when you can remotely trade wherever you are.
Brokers are important; Not quite especially if you have a self-driving platform like iTrade. (Yes - For Execution Only firms)
Are they necessary; Yes This is exactly why i said a a full disclosure to customers would have caused little or no harm to the business relationship with the clients. Who exactly here in this forum needs a broker? For analysis or what? I trust with the case you made here, above, you would have done a better job of keeping all the customers and probably win them some sympathisers, if they towed your line of reasoning and engaged with the customers in good time. |

davide470: A birdie said they had no broker trading for them which is against NSE stipulated rules coupled with corporate governance issues.. Now, i heard they have employed some brokers to man the trading desk.
The suspension is just temporary, and they should be back up soonest.
Don't quote me though Thanks alot for this. If this error/oversight/mistake/whatever were communicated to the customers. It would have been equally upsetting but not to the extent where customers are panicky/desperate to save investment and trapped cash/transfer account to other house. Thanks alot for the expo. |

GudluckIBB: it takes a bit of time like a month or 2, Your stocks will end up hanging in the air and by then morgan would have resolved their issues,You stock will not settle and it will be in cscs which you cant trade on.
Maybe by the time it eventually settles, the house you are moving it to might be placed on suspension for one reason or the other.
Patience is a Virtue young Man,Easy does it all! I do agree with the bolded. But its not out of place to know what was wrong with MC. Do you know what they did wrong to draw the suspension? |

chunkuli: had those nos from google search myself, those nos either ring with no one picking for the endless times have tried them or it doesnt connect at all. already made up my mind to send someone to their office. since people that trade with them and call them regularly have refused to share the nos they get them on. no need. Your points are valid. The least business who intends to thrive for the long haul should do is providing basic visibility to the brand. Correct contact details are extremely basic to ignore. It tells more about the commitment to offering services being peddled as a selling point. However, i extracted the details below from a response to email sent to Lead Capital, 2 of the 3 phone nos are different from that from google-search. Please try the nos. locodemy: Now that Nigeria is one of the biggest beneficiaries on the OPEC output freeze..........Nigeria may have the opportunity to pump crude as much as they can to tackle recession.........good news on the way for oando The best news would have been: FG solves the militancy problems in the Niger Delta. That would have been transformational for the economy and the FX challenge. |
