pluto09: Anytime I am tempted to buy fcmb and fbn,I get scared away when I take a look at their results again and again. Remove the paper profit of fx revaluation from their PAT and the two banks will end up with a loss. Q1 result will be very interesting, will their be fx revaluation again to boost profit? Will they report a negative/positive net income if there is no fx revaluation?? Time and only time will tell.... FCMB WILL BE FINE . I think the worst is over . Q2-16 got the FX bump and Q4 shows the bank is back in business. The problem with FCMB was the 10k dividend(My brother hasn't recovered from that)

Will they report a negative/positive net income if there is no fx revaluation?? Time and only time will tell.... FBN is one to watch out for ith keen interest. I look at this company in 2 different lights: i). What has it done with it's toxic loans at the end of 2015FY. ii) What it's plans were and what id did in 2016. These 2 will be made visible when it's FY16 result is released. Let me quickly say, irrespective of the FY16 result, I expect strong performance in 2017 numbers. FBN said it will not increase loan book in 2016(q1 and q3 conference calls) and with the enticing FI instrument you can bet that the bank did not create any loans in 2016. Thus no new bad loans in 2016(management and board members are slightly better. Mrs Awosika is my fav here). The bank siad it's top revenue earner as at Q3 were from transactional income(this a a sustainable and huge revenue source as compared to loan creations as it doesn't come with NPL). FBN is ahead in the online payment channel(info from interswitch and NBS). NPL for 2015FY was high 20+(I guess), and the Q2devaluation of the naira normally should skyrocket this ratio as most of this loans were dollar denominated. However the NPL was about 25% as at Q3. My take is that the impact of devaluation as masked the improvement in NPL as at Q3. Let me add this, FBN has a arm FBNQUEST(or CAPITAL) whose operation is similar to UCAP. It's a cash cow. Anyway the FY RESULT will settle the dust on FBN and I will buy bigly(TRUMP'S TONE ) afterwards. I buy in trickles at the moment. |

stockbuego: Fcmb is untapped goldmine. I have substantial units which I brought for long term. Good entry point is the key. I believe this company has alot to offer in a long run.
Nb.. There is my personal opinion and does not amount to buy recommendation. Very true. However, in the search for Gold, Brothers on NSEMPA have been stepping on dangerous mines. (Gold + Mines = bad combination) |

Aks: On ground and i follow the blog silently but not active in NSE again cos of heavy LOSS suffered last year.
I still trade 1ce in a while. Few days ago, i staked (big RISK) some quid on FO and it is making sense Ah, understandable. 2016 was terrible for the stock market. Many resons for that anyway: 1 Fixed Income instruments were very attractive. 2. Investment in currency(FX) was more arrtractive 3. Capital Control and body language eroded confidence and challenged companies. 4. Devaluation and its attendant consequences. But most companies seemingly turned the corner(transfered the cost to consumers) and it's reflecting in the better than expected results that's being released. Stock market will be more attractive that any other investmet in 2017(excluding MMM2 ) |

Aks: To Newbies on this FORUM, please be very very careful. The moment you start seeing members of OLD showing face at the mention of some particular stocks, just know that it is a RED FLAG.
I have been on this thread for 7yrs+ and the likes of Dumexoga and emmanuelewumi are veterans with opposing views. The former is 90% of the time spilling info related to BULLISH run on most stocks especially OANDO (he told us his investment runs into MILLIONS) while the latter was fond of being too CAUTIOUS and a proponent of long term investment (not a fan of JIJO).
In Summary, look before you leap. Don't take any comment serious. Take the RISK and own the outcome (+ve/-ve). Forget technical analysis and rely more of trend (personal analysis, historical data etal) and insider info (u can't get that on this blog). Finally, STOCK TRADING in Nigeria is advanced KALOKALO And where have you been? |

Dumexoga: The way so many people are crying more than the bereaved here, honestly I don't get it. We all are here to make money and not to discourage those with guts from doing wht they think works for them . I know how much people have made from oando since three days and people are here crying . If you did not buy oando ,pls allow those that bought to enjoy their loots. Nobody is dying inside oando ,we are all jumping in and out and making money. Business is all about risk, its either you win or you loose. So stop bad mouthing oando and allow those that are making money to enjoy their money . Even the stocks that gave dividend has not given anyone so much profit like oando has given since on Monay. Am outta here ,back to my spectator mood Welcome back, Chief. |
