Judging from the misinterpretations of children, youth and some elders who lacked the wisdom to draw the line between religion and humanity, I asked this question "Is it possible to edit the Bible and the Quran which are the two main holy books in Nigeria so as to remove verses that contains violence?" In my own opinion, if religion as it is always proclaimed by many is to pursue peace, definitely, the Nigeria version of it is fake. Please, let's leave aside what is happening in other countries. We can actually make our country a microcosm of peaceful religion if we desire it. We have heard and read how pastors swindled their members, extort them selfishly for his or her personal gain. Some prophets engage in rituals that demand human body parts as ingredient for (business) success. Again, with no apology, I have heard from people how the so called Afa use body parts of people for rituals. Without any blame on any of the two main religion in Nigeria, I can boldly say that religion is a deceit in Nigeria based on the happenings in this country. In this country, we only introduce religion to justify our I'll conceived ideas. Like the Christian, even the Muslim adherents engage in fraud, commit adultery, embezzle funds meant for others, evade tax, and arrogate wealth illegally. Suffice to say, the politician in Nigeria today, at one time belong to one of these two religion yet they are monsters. This little digression is just to buttress my point that none of the two main religion in Nigeria is perfect. Now on the issue of Deborah Samuel, some peaceful followers of Islam said she crossed the red line and so, she deserved to die. This is an irony of peaceful religion. To my greatest surprise, the leaders which in some years time, who could be thought as heroes as it's being sung in the national anthem, supported the killing. Some remained silent and sit on the fence. Then I ask myself, are we still in the stone age? Is it still an eye for an eye? Where is the so called civilization? While I'll not like to take much time, I'll suggest that if religion is to continue peacefully in Nigeria, the verses containing violence has to be removed in the Bible and the Quran. This will prevent the future generation from engaging in this barbaric act. The deed has been done but it can still be corrected. This way, no one will hide under the guise of religion to perpetrate crime. From some comments in the previous threads on the killing of Deborah Samuel, some Muslims cited some verses in the Old Testament of the Bible to counter the Christians in order to justify their actions against Deborah Samuel. To my best knowledge, Christians have embraced the new Testament which preaches peace and love. Why is it not so in the Quran? In order to prevent unnecessary justification when this kind of animalistic behaviour occur, any violence act has to be removed from the Bible while same is done to the Quran. This is for peace to reign in the future. I believe it is hard but it's the best for a greater Nigeria because the worst is yet to come. The youth of today be it Christians or Almajiris, will become the elders of tomorrow. Hols AndHols |

Could it be that the woman was into something shameful that only the man and the children knew about? How can he beat her continously without the woman calling the police and family on him. There is something secret that neither the man nor the children are willing to reveal. My thought actually. I had heard of a man beating his wife because she takes hard drugs. Even the woman herself will tell neighbours not to interfere thereby keeping the secrets to themselves. |

Ogun State has been enjoying calmness due to inactivity. There is absolutely no sign of government based on my perception of roads, dirty environment and living conditions. Besides, the issue of smokes from illegal dumpsites, burning of tires indiscriminately and burning of motor parts by Hausa people who trade in scraps has become worrisome. This people pollute the air irrespective of time. Most annoying part is that no one dares tell them. I was somewhere in Ago- Iwoye yesterday going towards the OOU permanent site, one Hausa man was busy burning remnants from cars that has been scrapped. The atmosphere was engulfed with smoke that makes it hard for me to see through and breathe. This is the same area students live. This is worrisome. With no good hospital in the town, how will the elderly cope? |
In terms of academic performance, let's say good but in general administration it's very good. |
Choose SLT. Do not accept MCB as a course in Nigeria. |
Choose MLS, it's secured |
We know the gimmick. Corona in Nigeria is a political tool. I believe this time around, it will be used to suppress any form of protest. Whenever there is a protest, boom, lockdown will be declared in the name of Corona. So, anybody that goes out will be dealt with. Plus the government knew that there are a lot of cowards in ds country, they will never want to join protest to avoid the scamdemic. May God punish the oppressors in our country |

Chile’s tumultuous protests about social inequality, which started a year ago, have left around 30 dead and led to a referendum set for October 25 to change the dictatorship-era constitution. Here is a recap of key developments in the country’s worst crisis since its return to democracy in 1990. By Clever Advertising – Violent clashes – On October 18, 2019, protests in Chile’s capital Santiago against a rise in metro fares escalate into clashes between police and demonstrators angry at high levels of social inequality. President Sebastian Pinera declares a state of emergency. The next day soldiers are deployed in the city for the first time since the end of the dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet and a curfew is imposed as thousands bang pots and pans in the street. Pinera suspends the ticket price hike. – ‘Chile has awoken’ – As clashes, looting and vandalism continue in the capital, the state of emergency is extended to other regions. Pinera apologizes and announces more social spending on October 22, but a two-day general strike begins the following day. Strikers demand the military return to barracks. 1.2 million Chileans demonstrate in Santiago on October 25. As tensions ease, the nighttime curfew and state of emergency are lifted and Pinera reshuffles a third of his cabinet. But the street movement continues. In November Chile gives up on organizing an APEC summit, then in December the COP25 climate conference. The central bank is later forced to twice inject billions of dollars to stop the fall of the peso. – Constitutional referendum – In a breakthrough on November 15, lawmakers agree to a key opposition demand for a referendum on replacing the constitution. On November 19, police suspend the use of ammunition which has led hundreds of people to suffer serious eye injuries. ALSO READ: Chile’s Police Train Dogs To Sniff Out COVID-19 In early December, the government presents a $5.5 billion social plan, and a month later the president announces a reform of the health system. On December 13 the United Nations denounces multiple rights violations by the police. – New clashes – After a period of calm punctuated by demonstrations every Friday in Santiago, new clashes in late January turn deadly, with four people killed. Violence erupts again on February 23 at Vina del Mar near Valparaiso, and then in early March in several other towns. The president announces a reform of the police. – Virus, referendum put off – On March 18, Chile decrees a “state of catastrophe” due to the pandemic. Protests are paused and the referendum, originally scheduled for April 26, is postponed to October 25. The president carries out a fifth cabinet reshuffle. – Protests resume – In mid-August, Santiago starts loosening its coronavirus lockdown, a process which lasts until late September. Demonstrations resume. On October 2, a police officer shoves a 16-year-old protester off a bridge. On October 18, tens of thousands of Chileans demonstrate on the first anniversary of the protests, in a day marked by clashes and the torching of two churches. From the vanguard |
