I’m Still in the Race, Says Bakare By Omololu Ogunmade 24 Feb 2011 Ahead of next flag off of the presidential campaign of the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) in Kaduna, his running mate, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has denied insinuations that he has withdrawn from the presidential race. Bakare who described the rumour as nothing but “a lie from the pit of hell,” emphasised that he was still very much in the race. In a telephone conversation, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, spokesman for Buhari, said Bakare and other party leaders were busy rolling out plans and strategies for the flag off of the presidential campaign of the CPC at the time of the telephone conversation last night. He added though it might be the dream of some people for him to withdraw from the race, it remains an unrealisable dream for such people, insisting that Bakare has no plan whatsoever to quit the race. He said: “It’s a lie from the pit of hell. As I am talking to you, we are busy strategising for our campaigns. It may be some people’s dream for him to withdraw, but there is nothing like that,” he said. Wednesday’s rumour marked the third time that Bakare’s entry into politics would be confronted with rumours. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/i-m-still-in-the-race-says-bakare/86748/ |

But if I must vote in the Presidential Election, I will vote a merciful and kind GEJ and not a merciless Buhari.[/quote]I don't think Buhari even needs your vote from that part of the world to win if you think you don't care what he has to offer, but then after he wins, he's still going to take care of your community, he's the father of the poor Nigerian masses. |
My younger ones are for Buhari, was able to convince them, alot of my church members are for Buhari too even though i have not even had time to really sit down to educate them. My facebook friends call me Buhari campaign manager, i sent a particular thread from NL to all my FB friends and i have even contacted the official campaign team, signed up with them and they promised to call me anything they need my help in this part of Nigeria. One question that i have been able to use in winning alot of people to Buhari still remains the secret and i am enjoying it. When they can't answer the question, they are left with no choice but to listen to my sermon on Buhari's candidacy. |

I won’t accept more than N1m donation – Buhari By Olusola Fabiyi and Abimbola Adelakun Thursday, 24 Feb 2011 The Presidential candidate of the Congress for Political Change, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has said his campaign office will not accept more than N1m from any individual who wants to donate towards campaign. He, however, said that anyone who wants to donate more than that could do so through the party. Buhari will be launching his presidential campaign in Kaduna on Tuesday, March 1. A statement from his campaign organisation says “it promises a redefinition of the tenor of campaigns for 2011.” Buhari spoke at the unveiling of his campaign website in Abuja on Wednesday. He said, “My campaign will accept donations from individuals but it must not be more than N1m. Those who want to donate more are free to do so through the party. “I will also want to use this opportunity of the unveiling of the campaign website to let people know that Nigerians are aware of happenings in the Arab World. “We have also seen the role played by the new media in galvanising people for change in North African countries in recent times. It shows clearly that a new society has come which must be engaged virtually. “In order to avoid it, we must avoid electoral malpractices and also police our votes. We will not spare anything to have a credible election.” Buhari called on all volunteers that had opened websites for him and his campaign team to close them immediately. The former head of state said he was aware that some people, who had opened a website in the name of the party, were using it to solicit for donations from unsuspecting members of the public. “We do not know about such and urge our teeming supporters not to fall into the hands of such people,” he warned. He said many Nigerians were yearning for a change in the country, adding that he and his team would bring about such positive change. Buhari said as soon as the party’s manifesto and programmes were released, he would hit the campaign grounds. Also speaking at the occasion, Buhari’s running mate, Pastor Tunde Bakare, described the launching of the website as a positive indication, saying the party was ready to win the hearts of Nigerian youths. Asked why he was running with Buhari, who he had allegedly described as a spent force in 2007, Bakare said he never used such a word. He said what he actually said then was that “Buhari would not win because the forces of darkness are at play and riggers are at work. That was then, now we are moving on. “So, it will be wrong to say that I called him a spent force. Do not also forget that I had mounted the pulpit and said Buhari remains the most credible person of all the presidential aspirants.” http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201102241503060 |

People’s Mandate Movement (PMM) after thorough screening, review and due consultations as communicated to her members, endorses Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) for President of Nigeria 2011 – 2015 and Pastor Tunde Bakare for Vice President of Nigeria 2011 – 2015. PMM’s initial endorsement was Buhari for President and was extended to the running mate after his nomination. PMM’s endorsement of the ticket is based on the fact that corruption and indiscipline, the foremost problems facing Nigeria would be best handled by Buhari. The addition of Bakare on the ticket is testimony of the plans of a Buhari presidency – government that is God-fearing and people-serving. Nigeria would grow to the admiration of other nations with this kind of government in place instead of “Business As Usual ( ‘Lootocracy’ )”. Buhari presidency would implement the provisions of the highly rated manifesto of his party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) for the upliftment of quality of life of Nigerians and for both infrastructural and economic development. One of such provisions is the bringing together progressive elements in the country to evolve a people-oriented philosophy of selfless service, sacrifice,. transparency, accountability and zero-tolerance to corruption. Another is the building of human capital though reforms in education and health care and strengthening of social services. Under a Buhari presidency with corruption and indiscipline at their minimum, Nigeria would prosper, taking her rightful place in the comity of nations. All these positive attributes of a Buhari presidency mean among others – roads would be built and maintained, phones would work, NEPA (PHCN) would generate maximum power, industries would emerge and flourish, jobs would be created and there would be security of lives and property. Vote Buhari for President of Nigeria 2011 – 2015. If we do nothing, evil will rule Nigeria. We must vote out corrupt leaders http://buhari4change.com/?p=689 |

banom:I repeat again, this is an old tactic, EVEN BEAF who appears to be the king of fear-monger on NL wouldn't use this line again, you must be new on the politics section so i excuse your ignorance. Anyways, educate yourself, read some interesting threads on the politics section about and how alot of people from all walks of life has debunked these unfounded rumors. Have a nice day mr semi-fear monger. ![]() |
Some posters are just typing and making up numbers based on rumors, the Northerners don't joke with registering and voting, if you doubt me, try to get a hold of any of the clips from a media house during election and also during registration, they all go out en-mass to vote, they even go with their babies and sometimes with their ass, horses, goats and anything living, they don't stay at home during registration or voting. So no matter how you look at it, the northerners are still going to be more than the southerner even if UN come to do the counting themselves. |
