Hello, I was able to complete it in two days. Spent more time at the ministry of education but someone came to my aid at foreign affairs. For how much, it's depending on the number of documents. I did for my waec , university certificate, police report and birth certificate. So your documents would determine the amount but an average of 1 to 2k per document, then you would pay remita stuff, then another #250 at the ministry office. I used a cafe spot inside the ministry of education, I think 3rd floor , they could want to bill or charge you high but with negotiation, one should be fine.

Then go with all documents you think you would need especially if not based in Abuja. For exact set of documents like mine, you can budget at least 10k. I hope this helps, you can ask further questions though.

What are the chances for visa approvals for a PGD (Post Graduate Diploma in Management ) for some above Age 40, fully into business, married with Children with previous education degree of an ND and HND in marketing and business administration.

Referees are required for all PG students either Masters or PGD or PhD.
I don't think they are quite strict with that. Use anyone familar with your academics, not necessarily your lecturers.

Alright thank you for the response. One more question is about referee, I initially thought it was not going to be needed for a PGD in Piece Studies considering it's not a masters and also look at the difficulty in getting 2 academic referee from where I finished from which is quiet a long while back. Any additional information about submission of refrees and how they would be contacted.

The question has been answered earlier. The duration of MSc Information Tech is the same with PGD Peace Studies, that is, two semesters. Some Masters Programme cannot be completed in two semesters.

Thank you for the feedback, quiet helpful. So does a PGD last same time as a Msc in terms of duration.

If you have PGD Information Tech, M.Sc. Information Tech will be a course you are qualified for. Duration for the programme is minimum of 2 semesters.
As for Peace Studies, PGD. Peace Studies is OK. Duration is also a minimum of 2 semesters.

I just sent my degree certificate to WES via fax using Hellofax after receiving a notification from them yesterday. My concern is that it took WES over a month (about 40 days after receiving my transcript) to notify me that they require my degree certificate. All along, the status of my evaluation had been "Evaluation in progress; you do not need to do anything at this time". So now I'm wondering if the 20 days are already counting. Also, I have still not received any message from WES that they sent my transcript to my University in Nigeria for verification. Do they skip that process sometimes?

Well from experience, the 20 working days starts counting from the day they have received all your documents and they notify you via dashboard that are documents are received and none is awaited again.

First of all, you need to wait for the evaluation report before you can create a profile.

Secondly, you need to retake your IELTS..you need at least an 8 in listening and 7 for the others. Please see page 1 for plenty more information to help you

Then, I was able to start creating the profile but didn't submit because I do not have a ECA reference no. But I saw that I should submit it within 60days before it expires.

Good Morning everyone and congratulations to all those receiving ITAs I believe others like me that would soon apply and join waiting would get too.

Please I am new here and read a few posts and trends and this has made me believe again that traveling through express entry is not an overnight thing, it could take time and process.

I made my decision earlier in 2018 and started my ECA wes application and went through the following timeline; It was really a frustrating one with errors on my transcript, delays by my school with authentication and verification but i kept going.

1- I created a WES account.
4/3/2018

2. I submitted application and paid
6/7/2018

3- All documents were eventually reviewed and accepted.
2/21/2019

You must have observed the long gap and that was due to the challenges highlighted above, I was luck enough not to have to send my highschool waec result because i made my application before August 2018, so when they requested for it after my school authenticated my degree transcript, I had to write them back and gracefully they complied and removed it.

Eventually on 21st of februrary last month, they said


Status: In progress

We are reviewing your evaluation report.

Status last updated: 2/21/2019


Evaluation in Progress
Your evaluation is in progress. You are not required to do anything at this time.
Your evaluation is due for completion on 3/13/2019


I saw it and very excited, almost up to a year and expecting it anytime next week.

That application deadline date is so close to allow you go through visa application process, that must be your concern, but you can start preparing required documents down

The agent helping me for my travelling told me that the University in the usa refuced to verify my University transcript because my transcript was not properly evaluated that instead of the transcript to be evaluated course by course, that it was evaluated document by document which made the school to reject my transcript. Am confused cos I don't understand. I need enlightenment on this pls.tnx

Was your WES Application towards immigration or towards further studies. If it's further studies, the WES evaluation you need is course by course not document by document.

Hello everyone, really this WES thing can be frustrating and as well easy with the right information. I am yet to complete mine but I believe my WES story and experience will answer some questions.

I applied for WES immigration evaluation as ECA requirement towards my Canadian express entry application.

The evaluation when I opened my account and required documents were
my Academic transcript
and degree certificate, only to check my portal dashboard recently with a request for my WAEC result and scratch card to be sent which I believe should not be so for my application and here is my reason.

I created my WES account on April 3rd 2018, and applied for evaluation,
I got my reference code via email and June 7th, 2018.

On August 27,2018 I got an update via mail that my degree certificate /statement of result is not received,
(this is because online processing transcript service of my school that I used for sending the transcript, left that out, I contacted them, the apologized and sent it immediately at their own cost)


I further got a mail on September 5th,2018 to send a copy of my bachelors degree which was eventually sent.
(Reference to the Above)


Going further, on September 13th 2018, I got an update for the need to have my documents verified from my sending institution which was not done.

October came and passed but the online transcript platform kept saying they were yet to receive the verification request, I wrote to WES and they insisted they had sent it.

The seven weeks passed and Wes had to send another verification request
NB- WES will send another verification request to your school after seven weeks of no feedback from your sending institution, most times via mail.

Then on November 15, another update was received on need for verification which pushed me to taking it more seriously, I had to contact exams and record who told me, certain fee had to be paid for verification, I was surprised and went ahead to confirm. Its actually a legal fee because I paid it through remita to the institution account.

After which I had to notify them in exams and record that I have paid and sent necessary documents, at this point I disconnected from the online transcript application platform and started physical process.

NB: The truth is WES actually sent the first and second one because they eventually saw it but those that would search and attend to it in the office responsible for verification might not act, they need that payment receipt and you might just need someone in the exams and records to push this for you for prompt attention, the verification does not take time at allllllll.

After few days, my status changed from being on hold to processing as both documents were received and accepted and verification on going.

I thought I was done, only to receive a mail shortly afterwards that they are waiting to receive two documents, but now it's WAEC documents which was never there before.


My application status changed to being on hold and some documents were still being awaited to include WAEC scratch card and result while my transcript and certificate showed it has been received and accepted.


So how will I go about it from here, if I would need to do the WAEC verification to get my ECA WES report.

But then seeing this, I wrote to them, although yet to get their response stating that:

I applied and got my reference number before the new verification rule was introduced which read on their website

"IF YOU SUBMITTED A WES APPLICATION AND RECEIVED A WES REFERENCE NUMBER PRIOR TO AUGUST 3RD,2018,THIS CHANGE DOES NOT AFFECT YOU"

I got my reference code on June 7th,2018 but the delay in verification caused this. .

So here are my tips for fresh applications.

1. WAEC result sending is an important credential to complete your WES evaluation as stared on WES blog of August 3rd 2018.

2. When Wes said they gave sent documents for verification, they actually have done, contact your school and if you need to go there or someone does on your behalf, please go and request for Wes verification at exams and records.

3. You might need to pay for the verification

4. Always put your reference code on documents you sending, envelopes and other supporting documents.

5. When opening your account, be sure to confirm the kind of evaluation you are applying for, is it for immigration or studies etc

6 Application fee can be paid using naira debit cards, I used Gtb create card and about 69,000 in naira for the above $200cad charged.

7 Always use an address that can be located easily incase you would need physical copy of Evaluation sent to you.

If I remember other things, I would share.
