Christianity EtcMuslims Love Jesus, Too: 6 Things You Didn’t Know About Jesus In Islam - Pics by hopilo(op): 12:19pm On Dec 24, 2015
Christmas, as everyone knows, commemorates the birth of Jesus and is a major religious celebration for Christians around the world.
But what many people don't know is that Jesus is an important figure in Islam, too, even though most Muslims don't celebrate Christmas (though some of us, especially American Muslims, do).
In honor of the holiday, here are six things you may not know about the role of Jesus — and his mother, Mary — in Islam:

1. Jesus, Mary, and the angel Gabriel are all in the Quran (as are Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and a bunch of other Bible characters)

2. Muslims believe that Jesus (called "Isa" in Arabic) was a prophet of God, was born to a virgin (Mary), and will return to Earth before the Day of Judgment to restore justice and to defeat al-Masih ad-Dajjal ("the false messiah"wink, also known as the Antichrist. All of which may sound pretty familiar to many Christians.

3. Mary (called "Maryam" in Arabic) has an entire chapter in the Quran named for her — the only chapter in the Quran named for a female figure. In fact, Mary is the only woman to be mentioned by name in the entire Quran: As noted in the new Study Quran, "other female figures are identified only by their relation to others, such as the wife of Adam and the mother of Moses, or by their title, such as the Queen of Sheba." Mary is mentioned more times in the Quran than in the entire New Testament.

4. Just as with all the other prophets, including Mohammed, Muslims recite, "Peace be upon him" every time we refer to Jesus.

5. Muslims believe that Jesus performed miracles: The Quran discusses several of Jesus's miracles, including giving sight to the blind, healing lepers, raising the dead, and breathing life into clay birds.

6. The story of Jesus's birth as told in the Quran is also the story of his first miracle, when he spoke as an infant in the cradle and declared himself to be a prophet of God. Here's the story:

And remember Mary in the Book, when she withdrew from her family to an eastern place. And she veiled herself from them. Then We [God] sent unto her Our Spirit [the angel Gabriel], and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man. She said, "I seek refuge from thee in the Compassionate [i.e., God], if you are reverent!" He said, "I am but a messenger of thy Lord, to bestow upon thee a pure boy."
She said, "How shall I have a boy when no man has touched me, nor have I been unchaste?" He said, "Thus shall it be. Thy Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me.’" And [it is thus] that We might make him a sign unto mankind, and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter decreed.
So she conceived him and withdrew with him to a place far off. And the pangs of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date palm. She said, "Would that I had died before this and was a thing forgotten, utterly forgotten!" So he called out to her from below her, "Grieve not! Thy Lord has placed a rivulet beneath thee. And shake toward thyself the trunk of the date palm; fresh, ripe dates shall fall upon thee. So eat and drink and cool thine eye. And if thou seest any human being, say, ‘Verily I have vowed a fast unto the Compassionate, so I shall not speak this day to any man.’"
Then she came with him [the infant Jesus] unto her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary! Thou hast brought an amazing thing! O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not an evil man, nor was thy mother unchaste." Then she pointed to him [Jesus]. They said, "How shall we speak to one who is yet a child in the cradle?"
He [Jesus] said, "Truly I am a servant of God. He has given me the Book and made me a prophet. He has made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and has enjoined upon me prayer and alms giving so long as I live, and [has made me] dutiful toward my mother. And He has not made me domineering, wretched. Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I am raised alive!"
That is Jesus son of Mary— a statement of the truth, which they doubt.

Merry Christmas!

So, instead of just throwing criticisms and tantrums out there, what benchmark price would you have suggested be used? And what would be your criteria, and when?

Or, to put it another way, which soothsayer's prediction of oil price during 2016 would you rather have followed to base the budget on?

And who told you many governments around the world do not do deficit budgeting?

Just for the records, I agree with the government's thinking and criteria behind the budget, so I don't have to re-invent the wheel. But please tell us your own.

[By the way, the benchmark price of Nigeria's Bonny Light crude yesterday dipped further to just above $31/bbl, although it somewhat recovered afterwards. Just so you know people like you have no legs to stand on.]

PoliticsReasons Why 2016 Budget At $38 Per Barrel Of Oil Portend Danger -my Research by hopilo(op): 8:17pm On Dec 22, 2015
The N6.8 trillion naira budget presented by our president at an estimated oil price of $38 per barrel from daily oil output production of 2.2 million barrel a day portend some dangers and is programed to fail. I feel the President has a good heart for Nigerians but in this budget, whoever advised him and prepared that document for him does not mean well for PMB and Nigerians. This is my simple analogy as someone in the oil&gas industry:

About 11-month now, market-share war spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and their OPEC members' partners with the hope to arrest the upstart U.S. shale-oil producers and control the market share is the main reason why the oil price is in a decline as both Saudi lead OPEC and US producers have decided to flood the market in a test of might to see who will break out of the market. In our elementary economics, when supply is more than demand the price of goods falls.
The advantage OPEC is having our US shale oil is in the cost of production. Saudi lead OPEC will still remain in business if Oil price drops below $10 per barrel; however it's still cost-effective down to prices of $10 per barrel and above to maintain many existing wells across the United States, which is why drillers have not shut in production. But producers face a significantly higher bar when it comes to authorizing new production, because the cost of drilling and finishing well accounts for the lion's share of lifetime costs.
The “Fragile Five” is the new nickname for Venezuela, Algeria, Iraq, Libya and Nigeria. These major oil producers lack the foreign-exchange reserves and sovereign wealth funds of Saudi Arabia to cushion the blow from dropping oil revenues. These poor OPEC member countries are now at economic breaking point. Without vast sovereign wealth funds and an abundance of cheap oil, they are close to buckling and demanded that OPEC meets to revise its current strategy by cutting down production output from members' countries.
When OPEC finally met in Vienna, Austria, on Friday, 4th December 2015 under the Chairmanship of its President, HE Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, the meeting ended with no agreement to cut down production. Member countries urge to be commitment to ensuring a long-term stable and balanced oil market for both producers and consumers, the Conference agreed that Member Countries should continue to closely monitor developments in the coming months.
The Conference decided that its next Ordinary Meeting will convene on Thursday, 2nd June 2016 in Vienna, Austria. That will be the only time the "Fragile five" hope to achieve production cut from OPEC.
The global surplus of oil is even bigger than Goldman Sachs Group Inc. thought and that could drive prices as low as US$20 a barrel as both Saudi lead OPEC and US shale oil producers continue to flood the oil market.
With OPEC in the vintage position as a result of low production cost, if US shale oil producers push on with this supremacy fight, the price could be as oil as $10 dollars per barrel.
For Nigeria government to hinge their budgetary expenditure for 2016 on a crude oil price of $38 per barrel is suicidal.
The most reasonable option is to peg the budget at $25 per barrel, cut down recurrent expenditure and intensify revenue drive from the non- oil sector.
Government should be bold to tell Nigerians the truth about the realities of today global economic situation.
Borrowing N900 billion abroad which equals 2.16 percent of gross domestic product to fund deficits of N2.2trillion naira in an attempt to fulfil campaign promise is complete self-deceit and mortgaging the future of Nigeria children.
The oil price will crash further and there's no end in sight not until June if OPEC will cut production. However if by June 2016, Nigeria is demanded to cut production from the budgeted 2.2 million barrel a day to 1.5 million barrel a day and the price stabilized at $40 per barrel we are doom.
Let the planners and economic policy formulators look at that budget again for the interest of our common goal as I am not expecting the members of the national assembly to effect any change in that document.

Planning the budget with estimated oil price of $38 per barrel for 2016 when the oil price as at today is $32 per barrel with a high propensity to drop further down is Budgeting in deficit and no nation in the world does that.
It is like you earning 32,000 naira salary and the list you made for family expense is at 38,000 naira.

Please who can analyse this budget projection. I think it is better to face reality than dwell in fantasy in the name of faith.

IGNORANCE is when you analyse something only at face value without @least getting some facts. DONT just try to think before you type ... try to GOOGLE what you think of typing .

in 2011 oil peaked at $100 pb. and on January 1 2012 GEJ New year msg was to tell us he was removing subsidy to reinvest in other sectors. btw 2012 n 2015 you tell me what impact sure-p has had in your life or someone. you know

this is 205 oil has dropped below $40 pb. the nation doesn't want to over borrow and become slaves to the white man this the primary aim is to generate income and reduce expenses. this it's a SOLID. reason to scrap subsidy.

Jonah's reason back then was to stop cabals and there was a probe , what has changed since then? be for jona left there was no fuel to the extent telecoms and banks were about to cut their business hours just to tell you in 6 Years GEJ has yet to stop our economy from being run by generating sets . lmao

better put hands on deck and do ur quota to help the country through this period by hustling hard , paying your taxes and ensuring every. politician is accountable instead of still deluding yourself that the past govt cared about us. *motherfckers never loved us!!!( (in drakes voice )
GEJ said it January, PMB announced it 3 weeks to January, pls is this 3 weeks difference that made you object subsidy removal in 2012?

to the guy below, Subsidy didn't exhist technically. Buhari never meant subsidy isn't in existence. It wasn't logical to carry on with it. Marketters were stealing from it and the same govt who put the marketers into relevance couldn't manage their excesses. Buhari was right.

After Discovering Oil In Large Quantity, 19 Northern Governors Signal Segregation Against South.

The brand New Nigeria Development Corporation (NNDC) owned by the 19 northern state governments has disclosed plans to start exploration of oil and gas in the lake Chad in the North East part of Nigeria.

Addressing Journalists quickly after the corporation’s Annual special meeting in Kaduna, the Board of administrators Chairman, Alh. Bashir Mohammed Dalhatu regreted that the insecurity within the North-East has affected the take off of the exploration.

The NNDC mentioned, “oil and oil blocks have been found out in the North, but for security challenges in the North-east exploration could have long gone a long way.”

“but we've got considering that to re-engaged our folks to be utterly dedicated to the oil exploration and exploitation of both oil and gas resources. We suppose in order to spring boot revival of economic system within the region,” he stated.

Asked when the exploration will commence, the NNDC’s board chairman stated “we are opening the exploration inside the 12 months 2016, considering we're speaking with technical companions that might help us explore the resources.”

in step with him, the enterprise was once ready to post revenue regardless of political instability and the activities of insurgency in northern components of the nation.

He mentioned the continuous decline in executive sales which resulted in discount of foriegn reserves as good as devaluation of the naira posed challenges to the operations of the NNDC.

He said despite the tough running atmosphere and the steady safety challenges, the organization remained resolute and centered in realizing its objectives.

The chairman mentioned the running earnings of the corporation improved with the aid of 42 percent from N651.2 million to N923.9 million at the same time a 73 percent expand was recorded in running revenue before tax from N137.2 million to N237.2 million.

He said additional raises were recorded in profits per share of 87 percentage from 16.7 kobo to 31.2 kobo and 4.4 percent net assets per share from 14.1 to N18.5 when comoared with results of the preceding 12 months of 2014.

Not all Igbo want self determination, not all Oduduwa want a break away republic and not all Arewa want to break from Nigeria. Why set a rule to single out one group alone?
