A young Nigerian woman has been delivered of a monkey-like monster in Otukpo, a popular town in Benue State. It was said to have taken place recently at St Theresa Hospital, Otukpo

This wife of a hunter from Oju Local Government Area of the state was said to have given birth to a creature that looks like a monkey.

The strange delivery, was gathered, came as a surprise to the already mother of nine the who had successfully delivered nine children in the past and was having her 10th child before the strange creature visited her. According to an eyewitness, when the news broke out, residents of the town, especially those at the nearby Otukpo main market rushed to the hospital to see for themselves.

Describing the strange development as conprivate part malformation, Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Stanley Bwala said the malformation could have been forestalled if the woman was attending antenatal care regularly and advised pregnant women to always avail themselves to routine ante natal treatment.

However, it was gathered that as soon as the hunter heard about the delivery, he came and removed the monster from the hospital, even as observers believed the abnormal birth was a usual occurrence to hunters who have killed several animals during hunting.

In a brief chat with elder Adah Okoh, a traditional ruler in the area, he noted that in the Idoma tradition, such child should not be allowed to stay with the mother for fear of reincarnation. Asked if the monster should be buried alive or killed, elder Okoh said that should be left for the family to decide.

The annual White House Correspondent’s Dinner is typically a light-hearted affair, and this year’s installment was no exception. Prior to the President stepping to the podium, the crowd in attendance was treated to DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.” Obama clearly enjoyed the moment, even synchronizing his hand gestures to match the chorus.

“How do you like my new entrance music?” Obama jokingly asked the audience, waiting for those assembled to sit back down before going right into the rest of the speech.

Later on, Obama had the chance to take a slick jab at Jay-Z, who caused a media frenzy with his visit to Cuba and subsequent “Open Letter.” Talking about issues that he has to deal with that are out of his control, Obama said, “It’s unbelievable… I have 99 problems and now Jay-Z is one of them.” Interestingly enough, the President does not appear to be as concerned about Beyonce, who also went on the trip with her husband and created her own controversy at the recent inauguration by apparently lip-synching the National Anthem.

With the President entrenched in office for three more years at least, will the President continue to embrace hip-hop as openly as he did tonight, albeit in a joking manner? Is there any way Hov can offer up an appropriate response to Obama’s comments? More importantly, has the President discovered that Khaled’s ad-libs provide the self-confidence boost one needs to win a grueling election?

[img][/img](CNN) -- An eight-story building collapsed Wednesday morning on the outskirts of the Bangladeshi capital, killing at least 80 people and injuring hundreds, the national news agency reported.

"Many more people, dead or alive, are still trapped inside," the fire service director general, Brig. Gen. Ali Ahmed Khan, told reporters, according to the national news agency, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.

Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir said army troops, fire service personnel, police and Rapid Action Battalion troops had been mobilized to the site on the outskirts of Dhaka.

"The fact is we don't know yet how many people were killed actually ... but I can tell you the building was not built in compliance with the (safety) rules and regulations," Alamgir said.

"Stern legal actions will be taken against the people who built the structure defying the codes or laws."

Work was proceeding slowly in order to avoid causing a further collapse, said Maj. Gen. Abul Hassan Sarwardy, commander of the army's Savar-based 9th Division.

Six hundred people had been taken to hospitals in Savar and Dhaka, and to a nearby military hospital, and 30 medical teams and other groups of doctors and paramedics were treating the injured at tents erected on the scene.

The commercial building housed three garment units, a branch of a bank and some 300 shops, the national news agency reported.

Video showed two women garment workers pleading to be rescued. "Please retrieve us ... save my life," said a woman who identified herself as Sakhina.

A doctor at Enam Hospital said a number of the victims had lost their hands, arms or legs.

A national day of mourning was set for Thursday.

The last major building collapse in the country occurred in 2005, when more than 70 people were killed in a garment factory collapse in the same area, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported.

A fire at a clothing factory in a suburb of Dhaka last November killed at least 112 people.

Garments make up 80% of Bangladesh's $24 billion of exports.

The country has about 4,500 garment factories, where workers make clothes for brands including Tesco, Walmart, JC Penney, Kohl's and Carrefour.
