i think u r making unfair generalisations here. . .  just becos a guy can be classified as eye candy doesnt automatically make him a dog. i knw a guy who is a victim of this generalisation,, becos he is so good looking every girl he dates assumes, he cheats, is cheating or plans on cheating on her. good lookin men always attract other womens attention, i think woman need to ease off, they enjoy d attention too deosnt mean they will jump into bed with every single woman who gives it to them. women neednt be too insecure. . . he'll cheat if he wants to, regardless of how good he looks

It sucks even more because some of those independent ladies also decide to play a tough game of hard-to-get and feel like they deserve the imaginary perfect man. Well ladies if you feel like you need to show your worth or something to him please I beg you, don't do too much. I don't want any of you to be like Sauron said, single in your 60's.
a truly independent woman doesnt need to play hard to get to show her worth

I will say this Independence has no room in the bedroom. Apparently who knows if its true Madonna didn't give it to Guy for 18 months I mean WTF?
Men need to understand that sometimes a woman is tired. And women need to stop using sex as a weapon!
there is s huge difference between being independent and a domineering controlling bitch. . . guess which of the 2 categories she falls into wink

Its not the real thing tho HR. As much as we independents get pissed off when the sexist nonsense we face. Independent women still go for a mans man. Look at Beyonce shes with J Zay hes got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one! CHARMING!

So hypocrisy is a problem!

The real problem is we all like to play games.
I'm gulity of it we all are. We love the game then it all gets twisted and we all get upset.

Like I'm fronting like I'm a prim and proper lady but really I want him to pin me down and give it to me till I scream stop.

or him acting like he will get his woman anything but really in the back of his mind he's thinking can't you can anything your damn self?

Independant women do need men but not for materialistic things. But for love and friendship and ofcourse rumpy pumpy and you can't get that with your mastercard!
yes you can! grin

The word submissive is very dangerous.

I think it should be replaced with respect.

I respect the man as the head of the household or whatever but I the female am the backbone.

In regards to independant women we need to be careful not to go too far men have egos it needs a rub sometimes.
I agree but sumthin tells me they actually mean submissive in d true sense of d word grin

@ HR

no one is asking her to pretend - we both KNOW she can meet her needs, she graciously allows her man to do things for her. There is no pretense involved.

Once again, a woman filtering things through an emotional receiver misses the message. tongue *seems like I'm looking for trouble*
LOl yes u r

It's very clear - she can handle her biz, and she does majority of the time, but on occasion she defers to her husband/mate - knowing that she can handle it herself but honouring him and herself by allowing him to do so.
Consistency is not in doing everything, that is complete dominance - your English needs some work missy. grin
Agreed.

but frm most of d statements made here, u want a woman who is perfectly able to take care of herself till y'all feel like being manly then she need s to step aside.

i'm choosing to ignor d crack about my english langauge

Consistency is in regularly, usually taking the lead in certain things you choose/agree with your spouse to handle. Even in a realm of consistency, women still like to be surprised, so there will be occasions when on the spur of the moment you decide to do something for your spouse

to say there are no inbetweens makes women sound dumb - they can't fathom a system not hard and fast/set in stone - if it is not fixed their brains cannot comprehend it. sad

Sad, but if you're right HR that is what you're saying women are.
what i'm sayin is that a woman like to knw that her man will be there for her when she needs help or that she might as welkl take care of everything herself becos her man expects her to be independent.

personally i like taking care of things myself but when it becomes a problem in a relationship, i need to knw i can depend on him!

It has nothing to do with ego. Like I said, I'm cool with her buying stuff for herself but I'll be pissed if I tell her that I got it and she is still trying to pay for it herself. As much as I hate to admit it, it is a societal norm; the man is the main provider.
thats not being independent, its just being rude!

ist ok to buy her stuff, but its not nice to make her wait esp if she can go out and get it herself. . .
There's no confusion here. . . . . .Listen n learn.

A woman should be independent in that she does not have to rely on me to solve every problem.
There are times when i won't be around so she should learn to stand on her own and solve crisis by herself.
We don't want women to pretend they need us or whatever. . . . . . .She should see herself as a man's assistant.
meaning she shd step aside whenever he feels d need to flex his muscles!

u just want to only help out, do stuff and be nice only when u feel like it. women like consistency, its either u r going to take care of her or not. . . no inbetweens here
RomanceRe: Miss Independent by HRhotness(f): 8:56pm On Nov 10, 2008
lol. . . u guys all sound confused.

u want ur woman to be independent, that means she doesnt need u to do or buy stiff for her. . . so u want her to pretend to need u at the same time so ur ego can gat a boost. . . and women r spsd to be d one with issues?

going back with doubts and/or bitterness would be pointless
