A Nigerian man visited a zoo in Canada and encountered something very surprising. Along the walkway, he came across a banner that read "Meet the Gorillas." The banner displayed the names of each gorilla alongside their photos. To his astonishment, many of the gorillas had Nigerian names, such as Ngozi and Nneka. Watch the video.....

Trendburst:
Parents and Teachers have reacted to the decision of the Federal Government to peg the age at which students can write the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations, SSCE, and Joint Admissions Matriculation Examination at 18.

The Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, on Monday said that from 2025, any candidate who is not up to 18 will not be allowed to write the examination and without doing so, such candidate won’t be able to seek admission into tertiary institutions.

Atalanta Could Dominate Serie A if Ademola Lookman Stays – Capello

Mammal said that Nigeria operates the 6–3–3–4 system where a child enrols in school at age six for six years each of primary and secondary education.

At the end of secondary school, a student is expected to be about 18 years old, but many students often graduate at 16 or less due to skipped grades.

Nigeria can not be isolated from global happenings and whether we like it or not we are in competition with countries(sadly, least developed countries).

To even think we were "mates" with Singapore years back and now we are down there, is crazy.

More worrisome, is the fact that, a citizen thinks we are not in competition with a sane country.

I dont like tinubu but I have noticed something. I am suspecting that the northern oligarchy mainly the fulanis are the one sabotaging/fighting Tinubu's government. This people have been in government for year without doing anything in Nigeria. They are very rich and powerful. Something must be going on which we don't know.
Tinubu must be fighting to stop their agenda. Are they fighting Tinubu because he wants to tampered with the constitution, example state police which will put and end their conquering agender, i know there are more to it.

As I said, I dont like Tinubu because of the way he became president but he has good intentions for Nigeria. He may not be the messiah but he will make way for the messiah by curtailing the power of the oligarchy who have been holding this country for ransom. This group are very powerful and you can never pls them.. they always want their way in everything

My advice is that the indigenous Nigerian from North to South should rally round and support Tinubu. Tinubu may be fighting a war that many of us are not seeing and if we don't support him he may back down or they may use military to remove him given the reason that he is on able to govern Nigeria.

As earlier said. I dont like Tinubu. I did not vote for him. But I know it is the will of God for Tinubu to be a president. God can use anybody. The same people that are fighting him use him against Jonathan, but from today I will support him. I will endure with him.

FACTS: How Dauda Lawal Funded Atiku’s Chicago Wild Goose Chase

Facts have emerged on how the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, a former Director at First Bank who had a mysterious relationship with Nigerian corruption fugitive, Diezani Madueke, funded the Atiku led campaign to question the records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Chicago State University.

Sources close to the former First Bank Director, boasted that the Governor had single handedly financed the legal team that went to the President’s alma mata to dig up his old records.

“As a newcomer to the field of politics, Dauda needed to prove his worth. Once someone had raised the possibility of digging deeper into President Tinubu’s school records by getting a team to travel to Chicago to investigate the President, Dauda offered to fund it to the last cent.

“In his proud manner, he said he would foot the bill. That they should let him know whatever the cost. Most of the monies were pocketed by the third parties that facilitated the engagement of the lawyers. But he spent a lot of money,” the source said.

He went further to state that Dauda knew that the bid to embarrass the President was bound to fail, but “he wanted to be a show off and earn the respect of his fellow Governors present.”

It is recalled that the Supreme Court had quashed the request by the PDP to introduce the issue of the President’s result into the appeal describing the action of the opposition party as a “joke taken too far.”

Earlier this month, a group, Arewa APC Youth Vanguard accused Mr Dauda Lawal of calling for the resignation of the President over claims that he forged his result. Sources around Mr Lawal confirmed that he indeed made that call.

Describing him as an unsteady man, with zero moral compass, a former colleague to the Governor who was contacted on this issue stated that Mr Dauda Lawal was the apt description of “anywhere belle face.”

The banker who asked not to be named accused Dauda Lawal of being driven by the "desire to be liked and popular even though he had nothing to offer."

“Dauda would pander to the crowd. He would do anything so that he can be noticed in a gathering. But when the backlash comes, Dauda would be the first to run into hiding. He would say he wasn’t involved. I am not surprised that he would fund Atiku’s craze just to win the favor of the former Vice President,” the source said.

It was not a wild goose chase. We now Know that his certificate is Oluwole

By Miftaudeen Raji

Amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, Muslim groups have staged a peaceful procession, urging an immediate ceasefire in the war-hit city of Gaza.

Muslims, in their hundreds, gathered at Dawah Centre at Ijesha area of Lagos on Thursday, where they offered prayers for enduring peace in the Middle East.

Addressing a larger crowd of Muslim faithful, the Director of Muslim Awareness International (MAI), Abdulwaheed Atoyebi appealed to the international community to uphold previous United Nations agreements on the long-running Israel-Palestine crisis.

Atoyebi lamented that the UN Resolution of 1947, which granted independence to both Israel and Palestine, has not been accomplished.

According to him, the illegal occupation of Gaza and the repeated intimidation of Palestinians by Israeli forces may have provoked Hamas to respond.

He called on the Nigerian government to take sincere steps to end the crisis and expressed solidarity with Palestine.

Also speaking at the gathering, the Amir (President) of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit, Mr Kamoldeen Abiona noted that the current situation in Palestine demands urgent attention and action.

He stated, “the indiscriminate attacks on Gaza have resulted in a dire humanitarian crisis, with thousands of innocent civilians, including women and children, losing their lives or suffering severe injuries.”

“The destruction of crucial civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and residential buildings, further exacerbates the already dire living conditions for Palestinians.

A legal practitioner, Tajudeen Balogun, who also addressed Muslims at the gathering, said it is disheartening that 225 resolutions have been passed on the crisis without implementation

According to him, this contrasts with the situation in Iraq, where the United States claimed weapons of mass destruction, but found none.

Balogun emphasised that the events in Gaza over the past 75 years amount to a violation of human rights.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) said the Hamas’ attack on Israel occurred because the Palestinian people have been pushed to the wall.

The Executive Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, in a statement, called for an immediate ceasefire, urging the global community to address the root of the Palestinian question.

He stated, “Considering the heavy toll on both sides, MURIC calls for an immediate ceasefire. We demand the opening of a humanitarian corridor by Israel in obedience to the United Nations’ call and the appeal made yesterday by the European Union. War is a monster. It makes beasts of men.”

Akintola described ongoing bombardment of Palestine and the blockade of Gaza by Israel as a mere continuation of Israel’s genocidal and apartheid proclivity.

He stated, “MURIC wishes to put the crisis in its proper perspective in view of several false and misleading narratives being pushed to the front burner. This began with the allocation of a larger portion of Palestinian land to Israel in 1947 by the United Nations (UN) which was immediately followed by Israel’s belligerent, expansionist and apartheid policies which have left the Palestinians with only a fraction of the land which belonged to them ab initio

The UN failed to secure autonomy for Palestine. Only Israel is recognized as a state. The Palestinians have no freedom of movement. Their infrastructure, water, electricity, etc are controlled by Israel and the latter has the power of life and death over every Palestinian citizen. Extra-judicial killing at the hands of Israel is rampant while arbitrary arrests, demolition of Palestinian homes are the order of the day.

“The desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque which is the third holy place of Islam is equally at the root of the crisis. It was these provocations, the acts of injustice and the constant violation of Allah-given fundamental human rights that pushed the Palestinians to the wall.

Saturday’s attack was therefore mere smoke and since there is no smoke without fire, objective people must look beyond the smoke and ask for what actually caused it.

“We reject the notion that Hamas or the Palestinians are terrorists. These are people fighting for their rights. They are freedom fighters. They are out to liberate their people.

They are seeking justice, equal rights and a dignifying existence for every Palestinian. We identify with these noble goals and we assert that justice is the soul of peace. No one can deny one and still enjoy the other
.”
