ogakpatakpata: .

@monchouchou...................congratulation, l know when your CREATOR decides to favour you, protocols /procedures / laws are suspended, this is your season, your door has been opened and no one can shut it, enter into your doors of opportunities. Cheers

@all...........since l don't do e-mails from this thread due to some previous activities against me, l have decided to reply to all those that sent me PM , asking for one information or the other, here are my candid and sincere advise:

1. There is a trend l have noticed/observed from this thread since the beginning of the year, we have advertised several jobs and posted so many vacancies, nobody secured an offer from this thread.

2. Valen2ony, Optimisticgondy's siblings 2male + 1 female, Yinkagbo, Nodawa and of recent monchouchou all secured jobs not from the postings here but outside the thread.

3. It buttresses what l have said several times, Aggressive networkings with different ethnic nationalities is the way out.

4. For those still searching for jobs, make sure you are online 24hrs if possible, don't just submit few CV's and think the job will come like that, from what l have seen with members from this forum and other ethnic nationalities in the UAE, you might submit hundreds of CV for you to stand a chance of securing a job.

5. Some companies are sometimes very funny, they may interview you and can even issue you offer letter and ask you to exit to your home country, some of them are wicked, they might not call you again and the employment visa will also not be sent to you, so it is better if possible to get your employment visa before you exit.

6. Don't go to Kenya for exit, there is a forumite whom with his permission l am posting this informations for others to learn from, he arrived early this year, couldn't secure a job, he exited to Kenya, he was stranded there for 6months, somebody assisted him and he came back 2months ago, when he arrived l met him one-on-one and l advised him on what to do, he later got an offer and told me he is going back to Kenya, l kicked against it, but, he ignored my counsel, to cut a long story short, he was given an offer letter by a stupid company and was asked to exit, he exited to kenya, as l write this morning he has called me several times and sent several emails to me, he is stranded in Kenya and the company in Dubai has stopped picking his call.

7. If you have to exit, go to either Nigeria, kish, Oman or Bahrain, avoid Kenya.

Goodluck to the entire house, and once again, congrats monchouchou.
@oga,the igwe in the house..we have not heard from yinkagbo, the last time I remember I saw his post was he got an offer and about to exit to Nigeria.
Did he received the employment visa?

Secondly we need the forumites that has finally succeeded to always be part of this great thread.their candid contributions on their experiences are highly needed.

Finally the sooner a good union of Nigerians in UAE is formed,it will help in d guidance of the integrity and prospect of Nigerians in UAE and diaspora.

Once more I appreciate and thank everyone here, ogakpatakpata,d igwe, justi4jesu our soft advicer and Lolo,.Dr dre ,d only doctor in Qatar...henrimoto d comedian...including all I didn't list their names,we are all important and needed.

Looking up to a day I will host everyone

samee72: house i got this information today from etihad office after hearing about the new immigration law yesterday from the thread, i was told that the age limit has been reduced to 28yrs so if you are 28yrs and above you can get your visa, but if you are below 28yrs and you've traveled to the UAE before then you should attach a scan copy of your entry and departure date on your visa to your application( i guess your stamped date of arrival into the UAE and the departure date from the UAE on your passport), it could still be speculations but i got the info first hand from etihads today
Nice one
UAE here I come

TravelRe: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by hugochris: 12:22pm On Dec 05, 2013
justi4jesu: Your plans are not in vain, due to an additional info I giot again is that the UAE government issues 2types of cards to travel agencies involved in tourist or visit visa processing. These cards are tourist card and service card, which are both sold by the government to agencies but theses travel agencies only buy the tourist card because it is cheaper than the service card which they can use to process tourist or visit visa for people. So the government has noticed that most travel agencies go for the less expensive card, so now the government has made it mandatory for travel agencies to get a secured card other than a tourist card. If any travel agency has the secured card then they can process visa for people below 40years but if they possess only the tourist card then they can only process visa for people above 40years.

So now the issue is that if the travel agency gets the secured card on a high rate which is expensive then the end users will pay more money to get a tourist visa or visit visa.

So keep your fingers crossed because I don't know how true it is.
@justi4jesu ,I can breathe fresh air at least for this later news you just shared...do u advice I call etihad airways or I should still wait for verification on what they have,if its the tourist or service license they have?
Thank you once again for this latest development u are indeed a sweetheart

It is indeed a sad news, since they are emphasizing now on age and been accompanied by parents if you don't meet the age requirement, but, if you are married and with evidence of your marriage certificate, you will be fine.
Oyea...there is hope if I am with my marriage certification, with this I can be granted the visit extendable visa
If so that means I'm still good to go
TravelRe: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by hugochris: 11:36am On Dec 05, 2013
@ justi4jesu and ogakpatakpata this news is a very sad one...does it mean that those of us that intend coming over to UAE with the extendable visit visa got little or no hope.

This is very pathetic,so all our plans are in vain,
May the almighty Intervene to avert this if it is the truth now...

Cos I plan coming to Dubai first week of January

Yes, if it goes beyond that you will pay excess luggage, but, you can weigh them yourself before checking them in to be sure of the correct weight, although, they will also weigh it and if it exceeds the weight they will tell you, so come with some food, it will help you for the first few days on arrival.
The 30kg is it d maximum for all my luggage?....if it is that's ok by me..
That's means I could come with foodstuff...cos I love gud food

ogakpatakpata: .

But you will be entitled to free 30kg baggage allowance on a coral economy class on Etihad airlines, so you can come with minimal quantity.
TravelRe: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by hugochris: 8:21pm On Dec 04, 2013
[ thanks....coming with food items might increase d weight of my load, which might attract more charges

quote author=ogakpatakpata]@hugochris..................feeding will depend on you, your taste, choice of food and your eating habits, we have different kinds of cuisines in the UAE,ranging from North American, Europeans, Asia, Middle Eastern & African menus spread across the Emirates, but, if you desire your Nigerian meals & dishes, be prepared to pay more.

Again, we have different African shops where you can buy whatever you need to cook they are located within palm deira & deira city centre, palm oil is like gold here, it is expensive, and if you choose to eat in a Nigeria restaurant, it is also expensive depending on your appetite, an average plate of food goes for 10AED in some restaurants, but, it is not a fixed price, some places are more expensive than others, if you can, come with some food items from Nigeria to survive with while searching for job.

lastly, do your maths with a minimum of 10AED per plate (morning, afternoon & evening) and use that to factor what you might spend daily if you eat out or what it might cost you if you choose to cook at home and arrive at an average estimate.

Enjoy your day.
@hugochris.....................a forumite ask a similar question few weeks ago and this was my honest opinions/advise to him based on what l have seen in the UAE as a result of my wide interactions with different people, maybe you/your cousin and others can learn one or two things from it, l might as well call it a simple manual for those heading to the UAE to have at the back of their mind, it is on page 192 of this thread:

1. Arrive with enough cash minimum recommended/suggested on this forum is $2000 due to the extreme challenges you will deal with on arrival, the UAE is very expensive.

2. Prepare your CV in a simplified form, and enumerate all your skills, competencies, qualifications & experiences

3. Start submitting and posting them to different job portals in the UAE on or before arrival

4. liaise with sincere / honest Nigerians in the UAE on or before arrival

5. Dont come to the UAE with over the board expectations, that is dont expect when you arrive with your WAEC /NECO certificate you will be offered a job as a bank manager.

6. If you have a good job in Nigeria, don't just jump into the next available flight heading to the UAE and expect to get a fantastic job on arrival

7. If you desperately desire to leave Nigeria to work in the UAE,it is advisable you arrive during your vacation, scan around for jobs, compare/contrast and see if you can face all the competition and drama in the UAE.

8. As a fresh graduate from Nigeria with or without experience, be prepared to start with a low payed job.

9. Be prepared to face stiff competition in the UAE with the rest of the world.

10. Whatever qualifications you got from Nigeria, be prepared to see and compete with similar or better qualifications from different parts of the globe in the UAE.

11. If you are patient enough, you might climb your career ladder fast.

12. Dont arrive and be looking for white collar jobs alone, think outside the box, by this l mean don't arrive the UAE and expect to be employed immediately as a cashier, receptionist, administrative positions, accountant, Engineer, bank manager, customer service executive, medical professional etc, some of those jobs requires some kind of upgrading / bridging /new certifications obtained in the UAE to enable you stand a chance of been employed, again, most of the white collar jobs are also what Americans,Europeans,Asians, Middle Eastern countries are looking for, so it is damn competitive and it takes a big miracle to be considered for those positions, although, not impossible.

13. If you are business inclined and you are smart, you will break even within a short time in the UAE, so you can add business with your job.

14. Dont forget to network with the big and master of all networkers " GOD ALMIGHTY ""

This are my honest and personal opinions based on what l have seen here in the UAE.

Enjoy your day.

Notice: a quick addition to what l listed above, l recalled my Cameroonian friend, his cousin arrived a month ago as a qualified automobile engineer with years of experience, the summary of what happened to him,was that of all the companies that tested him, none was ready to pay him more than between 2,500 to 3,000 AED,he was looking for something better, but, as l write today, he is back to his home country, his visa expired after 60days search for a fantastic job.

Happy Sunday,New month, and independence celebration in the emirates to all everyone in this forum...may d almighty bring peace, love, protection and success to us all....

I told my cousin about this forum...he intends joining me to the UAE soonest but his fears is that he made a 3rd class in the Nigerian university studying in engineering but he is very skilled in the automobile industry with good experience.

My question is what are his honest opportunity in getting a good job soonest when he eventually arrives d UAE

Thanks for all your candid anticipated answers
TravelRe: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by hugochris: 10:29pm On Nov 27, 2013
@ogakpatakpata u too much,thanks..............

1.Yes, most of the jobs goes with company provided accommodation + free transportation, but, you can choose to live outside if you want and is going to be expensive, hence most companies prefer to accommodate their employees, it varies from organisation to organisation, most junior staff are accommodated in company provided accommodation, while if you occupy a supervisory/managerial position you can live out of the company accommodation.

2. Degree is Degree here, whether 2.1 or 2.2, higher grades is good, but, not mandatory, experience is vital here, even if it is from your home country, it is better than no experience at all. Infact, some organisation might downplay your paper qualifications and want to see what you got upstairs, your overall physical appearance is also a plus for you, l have seen some people secured good jobs just because of their height, very funny you may say, and some ladies also got good offers just because of their physical appearance, but, it is not the norm always.
TravelRe: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by hugochris: 9:49pm On Nov 27, 2013
ogakpatakpata: .@ ogakpatakpata, your number 7 answer as stated below is it for all jobs in d UAE dat u are entitled to free accommodation and transportation when u are employed....
Secondly Nigerian degree do the employer ask specifically for high grades as Nigerians do...or degree is degree over there in the UAE no specialty like 2.1 or etc.
Just need ur clarification...thanks

There is nothing like ""2months working visa"", since you have read the thread that is very nice of you, let me summarize things for you here:

1. You arrive with 1month extendable visa, when extended in the UAE, it translate to 2months in the UAE.

2. Search for a job within the 2months, once you secure an offer, your company takes it from there.

3. You exit with your tourist/visit visa plus the employment visa your company will procure for you.

4. You re-enter the UAE with the employment visa and go for your medicals.

5. If successful, you are issued with the residence/work permit by the UAE immigration (residency affairs).
.
6.lf medicals are positive, you are subjected to removal by the UAE immigration.

7. The residence/work permit is valid for 2yrs,but, l have also seen 3yrs residence & work permits with some of my friends, it depends on who employs you or the organisation.

8. Your company provides accommodation, transportation and in some cases they also provide feeding to you.

Yes, it does requires passport photograph (coloured) in either the top left or top right hand corner of your CV, make it simple and to the point, enumerate all your skills, abilities, competencies, experiences & qualifications, it is not different from any standard CV anywhere, but, the only clause with that of the UAE is the fact that your passport photograph should appear on it. l will advise you take your time and read-backwards on this thread, we do have a sample format, go search for it.......goodluck.
