Adakintroy:
Am a gunner to the bone I have always supported this club. But sometimes arsenal fans are the most naive.

I remember early days memory from winterburn, olech, luzhny, Adams, Leon, Petit, viera, pettit, seaman, kanu, Beckham, before even Lauren and Ashley Cole those were my early memory.

I saw this club evolved under Wenger to be one of the most respectable club in Europe. It's was not an easy fit. Prior to that united was dominant both in trophies and in playing style. Wenger easily took that from them and handed it to arsenal from nowhere. It was a difficult task that was easily pulled off. So easily done we took it for granted.

It was this new winning mentality that spelt the begining of the end for us so to speak. It took us far from reality. I mean money reality of the game. So much so that we failed to see Chelsea's were far superior to us in money. Newly emerge city as well, United in history and titles, liverpool in tradition and history as well. in a conscious way we were 5th. We could never compete with them of the field with money and it was just a matter of time before the reality of which started showing. Arsenal fans were too naive to notice this. Wenger had drugged them with titles, good football and constant champions league qualification. They were spoilt. And like spoilt kids you could not tell them what's true. They just want their fix.

They hip pressure on Wenger to leave until he left. The stadiums and the backdoor revenue was not consider. far from highbury 30 plus capacity revenue... We were at 70 gate takings. It was a respectable archievement only few can boast off. Totheham and athlectico has since taken that route by the way.

even when we were slipping With Wenger, we had the prestige of retaining the beauty of the game. Arsenal had a style that was relatable. It was called the "arsenal style" or "Wenger ball". At least we were known for something. We did not follow our progress up with reality was my point. If we did we could have seen it was never wengers fault, Rather he was the one helping with the cleanup mess of the boards. Now we are seeing are worst things can get from bad.

I do not blame arteta just as I did not blame unai..the reality is that would take a geniuses manager anyway to bail us from this mess. It was bad enough with city and Liverpool..now Chelsea has woken to join them. Maybe United later.. I sense Totheham will be joining with Nuno sonto. He is a radical as we have seen it.

We are in for one long unhappy ride. Only real arsenal fans may be left afterwards I feel.
Well said bro, well said.

Nah people dey support Bolton and smaller clubs nah...I just can't comprehend how people switch support from one club to the other like pampers grin...some even switch camp after each disappointing season of their clubs. grin

Sink, float or fly...I am gooner forever!!!

It is just about fine-tuning your heart to the reality on ground...to avoid story that touch....find other things that gives you joy, while we await a rejuvenated Arsenal.

It might take 2 seasons or more, but Arsenal will surely rise again!!!

Of course, after the sack of Arteta and Edu...coupled with the exit of the Korenkes....if not, we are in for at least 10 seasons in the wilderness grin

Arteta's Arsenal adventure is just a matter of days...hang in there Arsenal fans, all these uninspiring nightmarish displays will soon be a thing of the past.

I see him been sacked during the international break or latest a day after the foreseen 4 nil thrashing away to Man City.

Thank you so much! I have actually overcame it long ago, but I just feel this should gain more awareness so people don’t accept this as a new way of life instead of fighting this.

I think I know someone who is currently going through a lot mentally after she fell Ill, but she isn’t sure if what she had was Covid. But after the illness, she has been feeling really depressed.

Thanks a lot for your advice.
You are most welcome!

I am glad to know you defeated it....and happy you are trying to help another friend overcome it... your own experience and how you overcame it should be motivating for the sister in question. Depression is depression, whether Covid related or not, it is a silent killer...and should be tackled heads on.

Very loud conspiracy theorists are the reason people are not taking Covid seriously...all we can do is to sensitize people in our own little ways and hope it goes a long way.

And as for depression...a lot of people live in self-denial...while some are too spiritual, hence, they don't play their own part in overcoming it, instead, they leave it all to God....Heavens help those who help themselves.

It is well sis!

Thank you so much.

After I recovered, I realized I didn’t want to do anything, like I was just sad and the things I love doing didn’t interest me anymore. Infact Nairaland became really boring to me, my business didn’t intrigue me anymore, movies too etc so I knew something was wrong, did a google search and figured it was due to the Covid, the aftermath effects.
Thank God I read that article, I learnt a lot and how to quickly recover from the depression by making sure you do things you used to love even though your brain or body doesn’t wants it.

It was really God all through anyways.
Yeah, it can only be God.

And yes, I have read similar comments on different forums too...especially losing interest in what use to fascinate them.

"...making sure you do things you used to love even though your brain or body doesn’t want it".

I agree totally with this...I think you should try more physical relationship with people...friends, kids, husband, and family in general. Being physically alone breeds depression. Try stuffs that make you laugh (watch a lot of comedy skits/movies). Engage in new intriguing activities if you have the time and means.

The fact that you accept that you feel depressed, and you are looking for ways to defeat it.. are the first two bold steps towards recovery...Shows you are a fighter, hence, you will definitely overcome it soonest.

Keep fighting, you shall overcome. smiley

Did you also experience a temporary depression mode ? Like you just didn’t feel happy even after healing?
Well, I experienced it a great deal...but I don't know if it was as a direct result of Covid 19...because I attributed mine to the long period of lockdown, coupled with the loss of 2 jobs at the time...with piling bills. So naturally I got my groove back after things became normal.

But some medical experts over here are of the opinion that, most, if not all Covid 19 survivors don't really get over it completely; it leaves something mild or chronic behind (temporarily or permanently).

So yes, depression, dementia, psychosis and stroke, are some of the lasting residues of Covid. Please seek help if it is getting out of control. I wish you the very best

With this crop of players and Coach, Arsenal isn't gonna make top 10 this season. Arteta has to go...period!!! A fresh striker, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder and Right back. At the end of the day, I see Arsenal settling a one average AM at the close of the transfer market. grin grin

If not for the moronic arsenal fans who keeps investing the club; buying jerseys and season's ticket, then it would have dawned on the hapless management that indeed, fans are done with their nonsense.

But what do I know...can't believe I actually now careless about this club...I that used to be a diehard fan...I even slept off around 65mins into the game. grin cheesy

An empty order from Mr Humpty Dumpty

The interpretation of this message by all security formations is "kill whoever is trying to retaliate or stop this onslaught been perpetuated by my kinsmen".

What baffles me is that, has the number of other tribesmen so decimated at the upper echelons the Nigerian armed forces and Police, that everyone of them stands akimbo and watch this carnage happen in their states? Or is it that the Fulani soldiers and police dominates these flashpoint States? Because I have it on good authority that they tactically withdraws or watch it happen, as if providing cover for these terrorists.
