Why?.. Because he was fatigued, he has played too many games just coming from injury, and he struggled, because he was against Sanchez and a young ,well rested maitnand Niles, him alone..
And about assist, did you know the first one on one , morata missed was a long pass up the field from Moses? A goal morata should have scored.. And earned moses an assist..
Let's learn to put things in perspective when talking about our players, yesterday was an average game for moses, let's move on..
It's not an issue..
I never trust that Italian coach...probably has been looking for way to set his fellow country man in Chelsea first 11... this could be the perfect time....Moses really need to improve in his offensive skills...that's the only area zapacosta and even Alonso....have an edge over him
oloriooko: If Tammy desires to be part of SE i think he shpuld be welcomed at least he plays most times and not a constant bench warmer like Nacho. Except Nacho moves out on loan this January then he's not fit to be in Russia and it will be a great injustice to other strikers scoring goals week in week out in other leagues. I wish Tammy can be bold to declare for Nigeria
just read what you wrote.... when I said...you have strong aversion for nancho...you claim it was not true...
who are the strikers firing in all cylinders? who amongst the strikers who have manage to score few goals will command a starting berth in Leicester...?
I have no problem wit nancho provided he keeps playing for the reserve team weekly... after all one of US here have argued that the EPL 2 is even better than and more ranked than some leagues like Danish, Norwegian leagues...etc
and for Tammy Abraham....benching in nancho or being called to the super eagles...I have nothinh to say....
no country not even Madagascar will love have a non-committed player in their team...even if the player is messi..
that have been the problem of Togo for sometime now...keep relaying on a non-committed player like adebayo and ivory coast was able to discover this by letting go of yaya toure and now you want Nigeria to be a victim wit such a cocky tall for nothing Tammy Abraham...
tbaba1234: Tammy is a bench warmer as well.. at least in recent weeks before Bony's injury. He also has not scored a goal in ages.
even if he is in Roy Keane level... him and his supporters should go lick stew somewhere.... woe betide anyone who will drop nancho for these tall for nothing English dude...
I will want the nff spokesperson to speak out denouncing Tammy Abraham....and any player who wanna play for us will be considered after the world cup...
Tammy and his agent wanna use these scheme attracts Southgate attention again.. if he must make the 3 Lions world cup team...it has to be on merit...and not through the back door....
Icon4s: I have concerns about our striking department.
Just take a lot at the strikers we have in the fold. Only Ighalo and Nwakaeme seem to be getting the desired playing time. And of course we know how we rate the leagues in which they play. Iheanacho and Kayode that I felt by now should be the two weapons of destruction in the team are not really measuring up club- wise. Iheanacho's case is even worse.
As it is now I am open to any striker that can add value to the team. If we are clamoring for competition in the defense then we should also do same for the attack.
The other day joebie rolled out a list of defenders he wants to see in camp. Why all the emphasis on the defense? As far as I am concerned by the time Rohr screens out the best of the crop of defenders we have already we are good to go. I am not even rooting for any new inclusion in the defense.
Where I want Rohr to throw in competition is in the attack. Rohr and his crew should monitor Paul Onuachu and Junior Ajayi closely. They may turn out to be better than 1 or 2 of the strikers we have already.
As for Tammy. I think we should leave him out of the world cup. If truly he wants to play for Nigeria his loyalty should be tested with a trip to Libya or Seychelles.
well said sir...especially as regard Tammy... but for that junior ajayi inclusion it is a no for me..... that guy is just slightly better than those we have in the domestic league....not a super eagle material yet.....
Icon4s: He thought he had arrived only to find out he is not there yet. Lol!
to be honest wit you...I have never seen a foreign groomed player so much loved by Nigerians even prior he made his debut...
almost all Nigerians who watched the epl wanted him play for us....his desire and debut for Nigeria would have been so much celebrated...even you sir icon4 for the first time...I saw you admire and canvas for the inclusion of the young lad in our super eagles team...but he messed it up....
only pinnick can help him...that if...he is really serious playing for us...and not to use these scheme to draw up Southgate attention....so as to make 3 lions world cup team.... that lanky kid can be very cunning....I repeat very cunning..and deceptive
Diego Simeone Explains Nigeria Would Have Already Qualified Before Facing Argentina.
One of the most respected coaches in the world and an Argentina World Cup star, Diego Simeone, has picked Croatia as the South Americans toughest opponents in Group D of the 2018 World Cup.
On paper, Simeone argued that the Super Eagles would have accumulated at least four points before they face off with Argentina, which makes their final match of the group a must win fixture.
''The danger in the area is how the games are played, I do not like the order of the matches. Because it happened to us, it happened to us in Japan,'' Simeone told Argentine newspaper La Nacion
''Nigeria was the weakest and the first, Sweden was better and in the middle was England, the most powerful. The same as now. Iceland, in theory, all imagine that it will be the easiest rival. If Croatia and Nigeria draw their first game, then a win against Croatia in the second game is mandatory. I explain?
''What happened to us in Japan: we won the opener against Nigeria. But England and Sweden tied. Everyone was happy, but then Sweden beat Nigeria and we were going to the field to play against England and we knew that we could not lose that game. And it happened. Now, of course, if you win the first two games, it will be much easier and none of these accounts will make sense.
''But it is clear that Croatia will be the toughest opponent and that they are in the middle I do not like. You can get to play on the last date against Nigeria, the two with four points or even them with four and we with three, and we know that between the two always the obligation will be Argentina. ''It can go wrong, we already know it. But I explain further: if Nigeria beat Croatia and we beat Iceland; then the second group match with Croatia is dicey because for them it is key, and Nigeria would beat Iceland to add six points.''
Nigeria and Argentina will face off for the fifth time in a group game at the World Cup on June 26, 2018 at Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg.
MetalJigsaw: Can he bench John Ogu? If he's as good as you portray him why is he not starting games for Nigeria?
please leave him...some persons talk as if the rest of us don't get to watch this guys play....@21 mikel obi was already playing good football...bosing the midfield...and here someone is trying to sell one of the most managed players in the squad list to me...
There are three years between Timmy (left) and Tammy. They couldn't resist twin Christmas tree pictures for their respective Instagrams though. You know those families who are all massive high achievers?
The ones who send a family newsletter with the Christmas card? Yes, them.
Well, we reckon the Abrahams are one of them.
In 2017, Tammy, 20, signed a five-year deal at Chelsea, (currently on loan at Swansea), reached the semi-final of the under 21's Euros and made his debut for the England senior team against Germany.
And now, younger brother Timmy has signed his first professional contract at Championship side Fulham having only just turned 17.
"It's a very good feeling. Every young player wants to get to this point where they become a professional" said Timmy.
bbc.com
the good thing is that...these dude will have his brother's path to learn from....
the lad will not likely make same mistake wit his brother.....and if he does...it becomes a family problem...
anyone who think good for Nigeria football...Will definetely see reason in our opinion.
what's the essence of engaging in CHAN competition if it will add no value to the super eagles......
for sometime now...we have been reaping the fruits of manu garba led under 20 team even though they never achieved much success in the world stage....
left to rohr to manage this team....lot of this old players won't even make the squad....I thank God for that man he is a gift to Nigeria football.....a man who plans for the future....
BascoVanVeli: That makes no sense. Isn't the AFCON also a major spring board? What are u getting at? If u make it U21 wouldn't it also be a major springboard?
bless you my brother...even European clubs will be eager to sign an under 21 player than players in their late 20s.....
I think...it should be restricted to players in their early 20s....or more still we use it to always prepare and keep our under 20 and 23 in shape...
somehow: So who should he drop for your keeper? BTW, Rohr no be Nigerian yet using Ezenwa when we have better keepers. Rohr isn't Nigerian coach too, yet looking at calling a div 3 GK who is even less than 19 years from Germany in place of GKs we have in Europe.
So my bro, it's not really a Nigerian thing, it has more to do with the coaches just like Puel went for misfiring slimani in place of KC. (Coach's discretion lolz)
rohr had to use the goal keepers that was presented before him....
he is not the goal keeping coach... if he was so impressed wit the two goal keepers @ his disposal I don't think..he will who be craving for enyeama return....
i think...he is getting tired of alloy agu incompetency too...reason for the foreign goal keeper trainer....
should rohr have the opportunity to follow up the Nigeria league...I bet you he won't go with ezenwa....
don't be surprised that under 19 years old goal keeper from Germany might be technically better and sound than many goalies the npfl parade....
Gotze1: I hope they leave their African Jews out of this? I no mention name o.
Abeg leave my brothers...I think greedy kanu just wanted an Israeli passport by all means....reason for the filty research on how the ibos got a relationship wit isreal...
somehow: The coach's discretion. Same way better keepers got dropped for Ezenwa in the main SE
discretion my foot....that's lopsided discretion.... reason why an indigenous coach will hardly succeed wit the super eagles...because sentiment is their life wire...
Icon4s: HOTSHOT: Onuachu Is Nigeria’s Top Scorer In 2017; Beats Onyekuru, Okpotu, Ighalo
Midtjylland of Denmark striker, Paul Onuachu, has emerged Nigeria’s top goalscorer in 2017, finishing the calendar year three goals ahead of Anderlecht of Belgium striker Henry Onyekuru, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Onuachu scored 26 goals in 41 games for Midtjylland in 2017. His goals for Midtjylland include four braces and one hat trick.
The 23-year-old bagged braces against Nordsjælland home and away in the Danish Super Liga, and against AaB and Brondby. Onuachu’s only hat trick in 2017 was against Derry City in the UEFA Europa League.
Also, Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru who has two international caps to his name, continued his fine scoring form on loan at Anderlecht from Everton, netting 10 times so far in the 2017/18 campaign to take his total to 23 goals in 50 games in all competitions in 2017 for club and country.
Onyekuru scored a brace against KSV Roeselare over two legs and also against KV Kortrijk in their 3-2 win in the Belgian play-offs in May.
The former Eupen ace scored 24 goals, got nine assists in 41 appearances in all competitions last season for Eupen before he signed for Everton and was loaned to Anderlecht at the start of the 2017/18 season.
Home Eagles forward, Anthony Okpotu, also scored 19 goals for Lobi stars in 2017 to finish as the Nigerian Professional Football League top scorer in the 2017/18 season.
Odion Ighalo who joined Chinese club Changchun Yatai at the start of 2017 scored 17 goals, providing eight assists in 51 games for club and country in the outgoing year.
Ighalo’s only goal for the Super Eagles in four games in 2017 was against Cameroon in Uyo which Nigeria won 4-0.
Girona’s Kayode Olanrewaju also scored 10 goals in 36 games this year to take fifth spot with none of those goals coming in the colours of Girona where he currently plays.
and some of my brothers here want an old leg to be called in place of a talent of this caliber.... to some Martins have class...class only them can see because even wit my medicated glasses still see nothing...special in his play...
here is a young man who will bring something different to the super eagles....good in the air and skillful as well....
soetanoreoluwa: Who do you watch on YouTube?
Don't generalize that all NPFL goalkeeper are terrible ...
Still have Ajiboye , suraj ayeleso, theophilos and others..
You can't tagged them terrible...
how come suraj ayeleso didn't make the CHAN final cut.
Abusule007: Salisu picks Ezenwa, Ali, Okpotu, 20 others for CHAN
Head Coach Salisu Yusuf on Tuesday released his final squad of the Super Eagles B for the 5th African Nations Championship starting in Morocco next week, with goalkeeper and skipper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, midfield Trojan Rabiu Ali and marksman Anthony Okpotu listed.
Ezenwa is joined for the goalkeeping duties by Oladele Ajiboye and Theophilus Afelokhai, and defensive stalwarts Osas Okoro, Stephen Eze and Kalu Orji Okogbue also made the list, as midfielders Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and Ekundayo Ojo and forwards Sunday Faleye and Emeka Atuloma.
The team of 23 players and their officials are expected to fly out of the country in a few days, to continue preparations in Morocco ahead of Nigeria’s first match of the campaign against Rwanda in Tangier on Monday, 15th January.
The 2014 bronze medallists will also play 2014 champions Libya at the same Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier on Friday, 19thJanuary, before travelling to Agadir to tackle Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday, 23rd January.
OMANBALA1: I have a feeling Akpeyi is just nervous because according to reports from his club he is actually decent. We will have to see Maduka.
that's a problem he should have overcome by now.... yeah... we really have to see that maduka play...moreover i believe this current goal keeping crisis will turn out to be a blessing in the longrun...as many young goalies will grow up to stem the tide years from now.
OMANBALA1: Oh, boy, did Ezenwa let me down against Algeria ? Ezenwa was repeatedly exposed by the Algerians and his aerial ability is zero and I was kind of glad we discovered this now because like say we carry the guy go world cup dem for finish beating us black and blue and even develop new colors untop our head...chai . Ezenwa is definitely not a first choice and he is not even certain of second choice neither is he sure of going to the world cup. Akpeyi own case is even stronger, his village jazzmen are living in the orbit, you cant touch them! The only hope now is Uzoho ,yet , he has not been thoroughly tested but I will start Akpeyi ahead of Ezenwa.
whenever akpeyi plays for the super eagles he always concede goals..... I will rather field a defender as a goalie than have akpeyi in goal.... you're right on akpeyi and ezenwa both goalies are problem on their own..... don't be surprised if maduka okoye steal the show in camp....when he is invited..
even at that alloy agu sentiments as regard goalies selection still remain a problem that needs to be solved...
OMANBALA1: Well, we played both (Mikel and Ogu) against Argentina and it worked perfectly well. The only thing to take is that Ogu will have to sit deep and let Ndidi roam. And dont tell me Ndidi cant play in the central midfield because he can play good passes and with his insane energy it will be sufficient. Onazi, on his part has enormous strength but his ball playing ability is very limited ,so is Ekong who is also very strong but the down side is that when the world cup comes there will be zero rooms for mistakes. all those passes Onazi and Ekong give away will be utilized by opposing defenders to punish us. The era of old-style ,combative, hard-tackling jam body defensive midfielders is phasing out. I want a ball player with good positioning and aware of his surroundings. Daalu ,sor.
you're very right though..... I agree wit you.... but safarigurl explanation I am okay wit...it all depends on the opponent' we are playing
OMANBALA1: I am anxiously waiting for this list because I am expecting some new discoveries will come out of CHAN.
the list won't amaze me...that much...what will gladden my heart @ this point is when other goalies are given the opportunity to impress....rather than keep sticking wit ezenwa
