Which way.

so, Sokari is exceptional now? So exceptional that his career is in the Tunis league and even there he couldn't shine enough to be in a 30-man list for CAF Africa-based APOTY?

Guy, easy with the hype, Sokari is not even exceptional at all, talk less of the 'that' in front of it
I think I will rest wit this sokari issue now...
after all I just want the best for the super eagles...and nothing else.
if the coaches deem him good enough...let him be invited otherwise ignored....

hope you're enjoying Xmas rice and chicken...?

Sokari cannot compete with the midfielders we currently have for a starting berth grin

Which brings me to the question, if you gotta put a nigga on the bench, why you gotta put a nigga that looks like Oritsefemi? You know how many times the camera will go to the bench? How do you explain that? I mean, if you have to be ugly, be exceptionally ugly, so that people will marvel at you, I mean, Bance ugly is perfect, but Oritsefemi? *sigh* grin
you really play too much....the guy may be ugly but his cash is not....ugly.....
forget about being ugly....or handsome...looks don't play football....let him sit there on the bench....better than have Agu who will only come in to cause a foul....or someone that can't give one long range pass to the players upfront...

I understand....sokari can't compete wit the current starting 11....but will be a good sub.
if we don't want sokari....Joel will be better...than having Agu....

let see them play for first...and then we compare....

Why Sokari?

Is Sokari better than Abdul and Raheem not to talk of Ogu?
you should know by now...those two players you wrote first...won't be going to Russia....

and for ogu...his saving grace was that goal he scored against Algeria.......
not that exceptional...

Emm! Why do you prefer Sokari over Joel Obi?

Are you insinuating Sokari is better than Joel Obi?
Because I yam not understanding. grin
I choosed him over joel obi because of fitness issues.....

when it comes to long and short range passing...I believe they're both on same scale...though J. Obi is way more technical and skillful.......
a fit Joel obi I am okay wit...

to be honest....I believe either of them is way better than Agu...
we shouldn't waste that slot....

I still don't see the essence of this CHAN tournament.

An U21 tourney that would be played in summer would be more beneficial to the continent's upcoming talents.
playing in Chan shouldn't stop our football administrators from embarking on age grade tourney....just that the coaches have no plans likewise the nff....and when you've got no plans of this kind...you only plan to fail....
they've not started preparing for the qualifiers not until after the draws..
they will begin their fire brigade approach....

and for the CHAN team...may be we have not start reapinh the fruits of it success.....
I do believe we start eating from It's grapes when we start to get it right wit our league....
the mindset of our NPFL players need to be cleansed...as well....

the CHAN still remain one of their most saving route to Europe or any other top African league.....where the ambitous ones can choose to develop further and grow from there....though I have not seen any since CHAN inception the ejike and kolanut boy all wallowing in Africa leagues till date.....I believe they will come still...as we make progress.....

I am really concerned I wanna watch yusuf sanusi coaching prowess, ezenwa and ajiboye and if there be any outstanding player that could fetch Super eagles invitation prior the World cup....

How else would the thread be as long if random names are not called?

Someone even said Sokari is better than Joel. Another agreed with an emotional fan who said he is the best midfielder in leagues all over Africa.

It's his time. It will be up soon. Then may be Gbolahan Salami will take over.

Merry Christmas, people!

so you will want us go wit Agu instead of trying new legs to see if they can prove better...?

There is simply no logical explanation in inviting Sokari before Joel Obi. He's a good player with decent vision and a good shot (at least from what I've seen on YouTube). However, I'll seriously question Rohr's scouting team if he's invited over Joel Obi or even Ajagun.
question what?
please you guys should let rohr do his job......I will want Joel obi to be tried too....
and let the best be picked...
I believe they're lot of players way better in football than Agu....
he has not been able to utilize his chances...let someone else come in.
even Alhassan won't be bad...but we need someone who can not only score when necessary but create chances as well...

he combines well with Ndidi and thwy shield the defense very well.

Sokari creating like Mikel is quite the expectation , I don't expect him to be any better than Iwobi to be honest.

I have never watched him, but I repeat, if he was that awesome, we should have been seeing more of him earlier
i pray he gets invited and let's see I he can deliver.....
iwobi in the AM role...I don't really fancy...mikel playing there is a plus being that he can offer well defensively too....reason why Joel obi or sokari is more handy....
anyway let's wait till March....Grace keep us till then.

you cannot try a player that the coach does not invite.

As it stands, Joel Obi is not high on Rohr's wish list and like I said, any outside player that doesn't make it into the list for March might as well bid his Russia experience goodbye, so it is not up to you or me to try any of these players.

If the coach sees something enough to invite them, fine, but it is one thing to be invited, another to be given an opportunity to play on game day and another to impress enough on game day to earn a spot in the 35-man list sef.

There are many hurdles to climb for these outside players, and Rohr no dey collect bribe anyhow.
I think you are right...wit the bolded...
let's keep out fingers crossed.

I remember how miserable our midfield was in the last world cup....that azeez could not line up one pass to his fellow players on the pitch.....against Iran...even as poor as mikel was that day...he yelled at him..for such abysmal display....
against France too.....Onazi injury caused a serious problem...to put team.....

just want a good bench to compliment the players on the pitch...

it has to do wit instructions of the coach....he can as well play there well.

CHAN is next month!

Need answers/clarification on eligible players for the competition. Is it meant for players only playing within a qualified nation or any player anywhere within the African continent?
players only playing in a qualified nation league....
it for players plying their trade in domestic leagues of qualified nation.
like Nigeria....for instance can only invite players playing in Nigeria....other nigeria players in other national leagues..like Egypt, Tunisia etc are barred from particiapting

the thing is becoming somehow.

Rohr needs just four players in maybe three positions. How will he drop Ogu even if he wants to add Joel? The midfield is the thinnest part of the squad, and somebody is still saying they should drop one of two DMF's, how? We have just Ogu and Ndidi playing DMF, Onazi is not a DMF and neither is Mikel, so why will you drop Ogu for Sokari that we have not even seen in proper action? Because a Tunisian fan appreciated him?

Please, let us be conservative in our expectations as far as players invitations, we shouldn't act like the poor man who wins a lottery and decides to splurge on irrelevant things rather than build what he already has
maybe you forget...that shehu too is a DM.

thanks big Brother Goodjoe....
the way we write players off in this platform never seems to amaze me...to be true not only sir komekn is guilty of this....many here do same....

Forget about time past.

We are talking of the present.

Are we presenting a team of time past or present in Russia?

You even said you have watched Sokari in time past. I may presume you are referring to the 2015 U20 WC and 2015 AAG.

Looking at the current crop of midfielders in the team, what can Sokari bring to the table that will be better than what the current crop can bring?
You cannot just conclude that Solari is better than Mikel Agu and Joel Obi when he, Sokari himself, is not tested at that level. The gulf in class between Joel Obi and Kingsley Sokari is just too much. If there is any other midfielder out there that deserves a call or recall ahead of Russia it is Joel Obi.

Kingsley Sokari is not a Super Eagles material. You can quote me any where.
I agree wit you...that Joel Obi is top class ahead when he is injury free and fit to play he has my nod....
but I will prefer sokari to ogu and agu anyday anytime...

sokari has better ball control and passing skills than the two above....we need a midfielder that can not only shoot from the midfield but can also create chances for the forward lines

He is not Super Eagles material.
then who is a super eagles material...?
can you please elaborate on it...then we can both use your exposition to compare the various players in time past that have been invited so as to know who meet the criteria...
super eagles material are know first from their clubs...posing outstanding performance...thereafter upon invites to the super eagles camp to prove their worth...or rather how good they're....

in this case...sokari and Joel obi is still in the phase 1....let both be invited and let rohr and the rest Nigerians see if they can deliver....I am not sayn he should walk straight to Russia wit the team...let him prove himself first in camp...should he impress...fine...and otherwise..dropped.

I don't belong to the category of writing players off all because they play in low life leagues...

this guys are not opportuned like some who are dual nationals of other countries...like iwobi and balogun etc.....

all he has achieved thus far...is as a result of hardwork.....
had it been he was a Tunisian, nothing would have stopped him from not making Tunisia world cup party....

or you think Tunisians will just begin to hype a foreigner who has no good qualities...

let him be invited and tried likewise Joel obi.....
we must not continue to promote mediocores....there are many players who play better than some of those players in the super eagles call up every match period.....and they're Nigerians...
why leave them behind....? invite them and let the coaching crew judge.

Agu/Sokari
Ogu/Joel Obi.

they're both better....and can offer more to the team offensively and defensively...moreover shehu can alternate too as DM.
